iPhone 4s, purchased when originally released. Perfect condition, no drops, no spills, just normal use.
Just updated to iOS 5.1, and literally moments after install, first phone call came in, and I answered, the person sounded like she was speaking through an old trucker's CB on his way through Nebraska (no offense). Three days later after resetting, etc., still same issue.
Questions:
1. Is it hardware or software related, and is it just a coincidence that the receiver failed after updating?
2. Is it possible to reinstall an older iOS (like 5.0.1), and if so, how?
when making a call i cannot hear the receiver unless i turn on speaker - how can i fix this

I've had my iPhone 5 for a year and a half. Everything has been great until yesterday afternoon. I can no longer hear calls through the ear piece. The other end of the call can hear me, but all I get is silence. I can only make actual calls using the speaker. I've read all the threads and tried everything, to no avail. My carrier (Verizon) said it would cost $400 to replace the phone, which is utter BS. Â
So here are my questions - 1) Has Apple come up with a solution to this problem, since it's obviously one on their end? 2) If I send this to Apple to get repaired (since I'm nowhere near an Apple store), how much would it cost? 3) Would I get a spare in the meantime? Â
I feel like I'm getting screwed by Apple and Verizon at the same time, and I've completely had it with both companies.

I have the iphone 4s through Sprint. Sometimes when I make outgoing calls, I can't even hear the phone ring or the person on the other line, but it does connect and they can hear me. It doesn't happen all of the time, but more frequently then not.

When I make a phone call I can hear the other line but they cannot hear me. At first I thought it was a blue tooth connection problem, so I used the head phones. I got the same result. I disconnected the head phones and used the phone directly and also using the speaker, but I still could not be heard.

I have an iPhone 4 and over the last few days I can't hear anyone when they call me or when I call them, however they can hear me. I have been using skype to call people on the phone via 3g and that works fine. It started as crackling and static on the line initally but now there is no sound at all. I've tried cleaing out the charger port and headphones jack, checked all volumes, restarted the phone and changed sim card but still to no avail.

I have an iPhone 3GS running OS4. I recently purchased a Billionton bluetooth audio receiver that is supposed to connect with the iPhone through bluetooth and has RCA line-level outputs to connect into my stereo. The idea was to be able to listen to music on my iPhone wirelessly through my home stereo.
I cannot get the iPhone to "discover" or find the bluetooth receiver. I have connected wireless headsets to my iPhone in the past and all I have had to do was put the device in pairing mode and the iPhone would automatically find it once I entered the bluetooth menu on the iPhone. I tried my wife's Blackberry and it seemed to be able to pair and connect to the receiver without problem.
The receiver is a Bluetooth v1.2 compliant, Class 1 Radio. It supports A2DP. The model of the receiver is a Billionton GMHSBTAR.
How do I adjust the volume for the phone recever on the IPhone 4? All the sounds work fine except for the receiver. I can hear a phone call or voicemail with the ear buds and remote mic, but not through the receiver.
