I have an iPhone 4 and over the last few days I can't hear anyone when they call me or when I call them, however they can hear me. I have been using skype to call people on the phone via 3g and that works fine. It started as crackling and static on the line initally but now there is no sound at all. I've tried cleaing out the charger port and headphones jack, checked all volumes, restarted the phone and changed sim card but still to no avail.

This is my first iPhone, and I don't usually make or receive a lot of calls, (I communicate much more with texts.) I received 2 calls recently and it was almost impossible to hear the other person. I tried hitting the + on the side, but it didn't seem to affect the sound volume. Is there something I am missing in the settings, or something else I am missing? I don't use any type of headset/headphones, as those are prohibited at work. I will say I have a Belkin case on the phone, so it's possible I may not have been hitting the volume controls like I thought. I just wondered if there was something I was missing elsewhere. I am hoping this is just operator error and nothing wrong with the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAbout a month ago whenever I made or received a phone call the person on the other end couldn't hear me. I could hear them fine my end! I tried swapping across to loud speaker but it still didn't work! I sent it off for repair and had the part of the phone with the microphone speaker replaced. Its come back and still does it! My brother said it was possibly the latest update as it was roughly around then that it went but I'm not sure!

This is not happening always but often I am facing the issue. And during important meetings I am loosing track of the conversation in between as I need to disconnect and connect to the meeting again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my G4 this week and I love almost everything about it! Anyway, I listen to spotify on my cars Bluetooth, but I learned tonight that if I get a call ( on call for work so I can't just ignore) I can answer, but the music just keeps playing and I can't hear the person on the other end. I must have my music and I don't like the installed music systems (canceled my service recently) .
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a phone call I can hear the other line but they cannot hear me. At first I thought it was a blue tooth connection problem, so I used the head phones. I got the same result. I disconnected the head phones and used the phone directly and also using the speaker, but I still could not be heard.

Iphone 3G (3.0) Jailbroken. Recently, When I receive or call anyone the other person cannot hear me at all.
I have tested this by calling myself. I cant really tell if the "speaker mode" works or not. Its kind of confusing calling yourself. Recent applications that I added were Pedometer, iBlacklist, Tethering. All kind of other sound are working just fine. If any, where are the microphone settings located? No I did not drop it or step on the IPhone, I don't do that kind stuff.
Anyway Mic stopped working I had this IPhone for about 1 1/2 yrs and treat it like my only child no scratches no nothing I take good care of it. No the case is not covering the Mic. No I have not tried to Restore it. If so, is it safe to jailbreak to the latest firm 3.1.2 i think, any hidden surprises to that, don't want to find out after the jailbreak. Like some firm changed my Baseband in the past I thought the world just stopped spinning or something. Others can hear me if I have the headphone wire attached and speak into the Mic in the wire.
I can barely hear the other person on the line. I know that's probably the noise cancellation is kicking in but still that sucks considering I didn't have such a problem with my 3GS which was pretty loud.

Suddenly, I can no longer hear other person on the Bold 9700 phone, unless I plug in headset, or sometimes it works activating the speaker phone. Tried rebooting, upgrading OS to 6.0 and cleaning headphone jack with alcohol dipped q-tip stick. Speaker works fine in media mode.
