IPhone :: Can't Get 4S To Connect To Wifi With Password Protection
Apr 15, 2012
I'll run through all the information I have and everything I've tried. I have a Verizon IPhone 4S, internationally unlocked, using an international sim card When I first moved to China, everything worked fine. Now that I'm thinking back, I'd say that the first time I noticed problems connecting to wifi was after getting a local 3G sim card for my phone. Since then, I've been able to see wifi networks fine, but get incorrect password everytime I've input them.
I havent seen a wishlist for iOS so far, at least not a relevant one. So I figured that we can add things with time. I wish a quick on/off button/shortcut/app for the password protection lock. Its time consuming to always have it on and it takes too much effort to turn it on and off. On/Off Shortcut on mainscreen for Password Protection?

I can't connect to wifi that need a password to access, it always says the password is incorrect. I was connected to my home wifi until I reset my network settings like I have read but now I can't get back on to my wifi!
Is there a way to connect my iPhone 4s to my wifi network without the password? This is my home network but unfortunately it was setup years ago and I have no way of getting the password for it. I've been able to connect my laptop to it without the password by pushing the button on the netgear router but it does not work when I try with my phone. My laptop and desktop are both connected and have iTunes so I was hoping I could do it that way but I've had no luck. I've also had no luck resetting the router and I'd rather not buy a new one.
I just bought an Ipad 3 and I tried to connect to wifi at my my house but it won't let me beacuse the password it 7 digits. we tried changing the password to 8 digits so it would register and it still says incorrect password.
I am having a IPHONE 5S. It wifi is getting connected in my home network and other places. Now I moved to the new office . Here other colleagues who are having apple products are able to connect to the network . but my phone is giving message "Â Incorrect Password". The password is correct,
I was just exploring and set a password and now I need to turn off the password. When I go to the Password page it is "Enabled." How do I disable this?
I was exploring my new Pearl 3G 9105 and has enabled my password protection. I have a difficult situation when trying to disable the password as it is a red lock icon next to the option. It's been locked. How could it happen? Is there a way to unlock it so I can make the change?
If I set a password on my Samsung galaxy S5 so no one can get into my phone, will I be required to enter that password every time I get a phone call? That would be cumbersome.
I have a new 5c iPhone but can not connect to my Wi-Fi Home Wireless Network as my new phone does not recognize my password. How can I change the password and move on?
I'm a new and proud owner of a BlackBerry Curve 8900.I bought this used from a guy and I didn't realize this before til now. This phone is "permanently" password protected, meaning that I need to insert my password every single time I unlock my phone. I tried going to "Password" and disabling this option but there is a red lock beside the option and it won't let me choose Disable, only Enable. I went to TMobile and asked them but they said it's programed into the phone and told me to go back to the guy that sold me this.
I don't keep in contact with the guy who sold me this anymore. Is there ANY WAY to disable this?
I was just forced on BES and now my BB must be "unlocked" with a password. I am sure there has been discussed before, but it someone knows of a way to remove the password-protection, which was placed on my device when activited with BES,
I'm trying to set my phone to go into lock mode after a period of time (like 5 min or something). I've only been able to auto-lock it with a password protection but I don't want to enter a password every time, I just want to hit the button on top to unlock it.
Also, I don't use a holster...I just throw it in my pocket. Most of the time I remember to lock it before I put it in my pocket but every time I don't, I end up calling someone. I read the other threads prior to posting and nothing.
I Have the Aino and How can I protect my SMS section and my photos? Can I install an aftermarket application like this in my phone? http://software.gsmarena.com/product.asp?id=8330&n=Advanced-Device-Locks-for-S60
I have a new Xperia Ray and I'm trying to access a wifi network. My phone has found the available networks, but when I try to connect to the one I want, it will let me enter a password, but the 'Connect' option remains greyed out. The only option I have is 'Cancel'.Do I need to adjust a setting somewhere to enable me to connect to wifi?
I'm having problem connecting to wifi at home, the phone accepted the wifi password (and remembered), but would not connect. I tried to reboot the phone and my router but still can't connect. However, I can connect to open wifi.
Did the update and now my iphone 4s wifi does not connect to my home wifi. It just sits there with the little circle going round and round. My ipad3 updated and works fine...
All devices surfing wirelessly on Airport Express.Replaced Airport Express with Time Capsule.Problem: Wife's iPhone4 (5.1.1) can not surf on wifi provided by my time capsule. All my other devices (iMac, Mac Air, iPad and my iPhone) can. Wife's iPhone can surf on an unsecure network somewhere nearby in my apartment complex. (Which to me, rules out a hardware problem).
Steps taken: Tapped iPhone wifi On/Off multiple times with no change. "Forget this network" multiple times with no change. Reset iPhone Network Settings multiple times with no change. Restored iPhone using iTunes as New iPhone once with no change. (Since doing that, I have restored with back up of iPhone settings and data.) Powered Time Capsule on/off several times with no change. Turned wireless security off with no change. Security is back on. It is WPA 2 Personal with a lengthy password. I'm not getting the "incorrect password" msg. Renewed lease multiple times with no change.
Other indications: 3G is in upper left. Status wheel is spinning next to my network's name. On the initial "Settings" window, my network name is shown (as if it were connected. But tapping it and going to the "wifi networks" window shows the list of available networks with the status wheel spinning next to mine.) Tapping the blue arrow on my network name leads to the window that has "forget this network" at the top, and a list of blank fields: IP address, subnet mask, router and so on. DHCP is chosen, HTTP proxy is OFF. Sometimes, the top two fields (ip address and subnet mask) have values filled in, but the rest of the fields don't.
On my Time Capsule, as seen via Airport Utility (V5.5.3), 3 devices are shown as connected. Clicking this provides a listing. My wife's iPhone wi-fi address is listed. It's "rate" however is 1. My imac is 216 and my iphone is 65. BTW, iOS devices drop off the list when they go to sleep. No big deal there.
Back to Airport Utility, in the summary tab... status is normal, version is 7.6.1, wireless mode is "create a wireless network", security is "wpa/wpa2 personal", channel is 149 auto and 1 auto (I tried changing 1 to 11 with no change), connect using "ethernet" and finally my IP address begings with 76. 76.xxx.xxx.xxx
Moving to the "Wireless" tab of Airport utility... wireless mode is "create a wireless network", radio mode is auto, radio ch. selection is auto, wireless security is wpa/wpa2 personal, "remember password in keychain" is checked. Now Clicking on the "wireless network options" button..... 5ghz is not checked, country is USA, multicast rate is "low", t-mit power is "100%", WPA group key timeout is 1 day (it used to be 1 hour but this has made no change in the problem), "use wide channels" is not checked, "create a closed network" is not checked.
MAC access control is not enabled. But it was enabled previously and I added my devices by their Wi-Fi addresses one at a time until i decided to turn it off due to this problem. this resulted in no change with the problem.
Personally, I feel the prob lies with the DHCP and ip address and related fields, but I don't know enough about what their values should be in relation to my other devices to alter them on my own.
Having bought an iphone (G3) and tried to connect to the network, it shows me the HUB No., which corresponds to the number on the back of my router.
It then asks me for a password. I assume this is the one also on the back of the router. However when I enter this I get a message 'Unable to connect to network'
Consequently if I use my phone to get to the internet, I am charged.
After a clean install (restored as a new iPhone) of iOS 5.1 on my iPhone 3GS it keeps asking me the wifi network password every time I want to connect. The system doesn't remember the password. The curious fact is that my iPad 2 isn't affected by this bug. It is on iOS 5.1 too but I simply upgraded it from 5.0.1 without a clean install. Resetting network settings doesn't make it to work, the same with an hard reset.
