I'm trying to use AirPlay on my iPhone 4S (Verizon & iOS 5.1) to connect to my iTV (version 2, latest software) and my iMac (10.6.8)
I can use iTunes on the iMac to connect to Apple TV and PandoraJam allows me to connect, as well. However, I can't get the AirPlay symbol to light up on the iPhone.
I've followed all of the steps on the support page and have also reset the network settings and switched languages. When I go to another network that has two AirPort Expresses on it, my phone connects to those immediately.
When I double click on the Home butto to see the running apps, I can scroll the list of apps and the leftmost group has buttons for parental control, previous, stop, next, and Music. There is no icon for AirPlay. Similarly, the AirPlay symbol is not visible in Photos, Videos, or Music.
I have 3 Apple TV's disbursed throughout my home. Each of these ATV2's are connected to my primary Netgear Wireless N network and are set to have static IP addresses. I often play content on my iPhone and airplay it to anyone of these 3 ATV's. This works fine so long as my iPhone is connected to the primary Wireless N network.
Recently I noticed that in certain areas of the house I was having trouble connecting to my home network with my iPhone due to poor signal quality. To combat this I decided to purchase a Wireless Extender/Repeater by Amped Wireless, which received great reviews. I installed the Wireless Repeater without a hitch and every wireless device on my network (whether it be connected to my primary wireless network or my extended network) works perfectly with the exception of AirPlay on my iPhone and my ATV's.
As far as I know in order to use AirPlay, the AirPlay devices should exist on the same subnet, which they do. Yet if I have my ATV's on the primary wireless network and my iPhone on the extended my iPhone can not see the ATV's. If I have my iPhone connect to the primary wireless network it can find and connect to the ATV's via AirPlay just fine. This is brutal! My main reason for getting the extended was so that I could extend my range and ability to push music from my iPhone via AirPlay to my ATV's. As it turns out it doesn't work at all!
i bought an iphone 4s a few months back and it came with ios 5, i then tryed it with my airplay speakers and they kept cutting out so i googles about it and found there was a known problem with iphone 4s and airplay speakers. ios 5.0.1 then came out a few weeks later and the problem seemed to be fixed and i was happy as they worked fine after that ios 5.1 then came out so i updated my 4s to this and started playing music through airplay and they started to cut out again, i turned them off and on and it happened again, then i reset them to my wifi router and the problem still occurred Is anybody else having this problem with airplay on there iphone 4s running ios 5.1?If so, apple really need to sort this out! I bought my iphone with high expectations and to pay all that money for it not to work is not good?
I've been having a vexing problem whereby if I send sound via AirPlay to one of my Airport Expresses the "Ringer and Alert Volume" always resets to 4. This seems to be an issue with older generation Airport Expresses. I was not able to try it with a new Airport Express, but tried it with the latest Apple TV and AirPlay worked fine and did not reset my "Ringer and Alert Volume". Strange bug, but at least I know it has to do with my old Airport Expresses (802.11b/g).
I used to be able to stream tv apps such as BBC Iplayer, etc to my apple tv but now im no longer getting the airplay icon on my phone.Whats happened and how do i fix it.
I would like instructions on how to view my photos, currently held on my iPhone 4S, on my 2009 Panasonic networked TV but WITHOUT having to get Apple TV.
I have a wireless router and attached Synology DiskStation NAS - and my TV is networked via cable from the router. my iPhone 4S is on the wifi to that router.
I cannot find my Airplay icon in my iPhone 4s, not in the Control Center, nor by swiping left to right twice after clicking Home twice. I'm connected to the same wireless network as my Macbook Pro, which is running Reflector (I'm trying to bypass Apple TV). Â
Also, the only place Airplay seems to be located on my Macbook Pro 2014 is iTunes, and clicking the icon brings up no additional devices beyond what looks like my Macbook Pro screen and my Macbook Pro speakers. Did I mention that I'm running Mavericks 10.9.4?Â
It used to work fIne. Apps like Pandora, iTunes, and even Nike Training Club used to mirror fine to my Apple TV until recently. This problem persisted before and after I upgraded to ios 5.1. I lose AirPlay after just a few seconds of play. Is this something that can be resolved? Do I need to get my devices replaced?
Here is the setup, iPhone 4S, apple tv 2, on a gig LAN at home. DIR655 is the router. No Internet access at home though. I want fit be able to stream say crackle from my phone to the apple tv. As of now it's not working, since there is no internet access at home as soon as I join the network I'm cut off from any online access. No emails, browsing, or streaming videos. Now, I know that it's possible because it did it about two weeks ago, I was able to join the network at home and still browse and stream videos from the phone. And it does it briefly during a reboot of the router. It won't give the wifi bars on the header but it will give me an AirPlay icon and recognize the apple tv2.
Solutions which have been suggested and failed: - Disabled the dns relay within the router settings. - Changed the DNS servers to 4.2.2.2/3.
I have an Iphone 4 and use airplay to stream videos from my computer to my phone but the screen is very small for videos.if I buy the AV Adapter I can connect to my TV.
All of a sudden my AirPlay icon has disappeared from my Music app on the iPhone 4S. I've tried re-booting the iPhone, re-booting the router and the modem, re-booting the AppleTV, and I've done all the software updates. Still . No AirPlay icon And by the way, why isn't there any AirPlay section in the iPhone's Settings?

I have a linksys wrt-120n wireless router wired to my pioneer A/V receiver, which is an AirPlay device, but when I play a song on my iPhone the airplay icon does not appear. Here are the things I've tried to no avail:- firewall disabled (this also disables filter multicast)- opened all ports associated with AirPlay (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1629)- turned on Home Sharing on my laptop iTunes- authenticated the receiver on my windows laptop & enabled file sharing (receiver is showing as a Digital Media Renderer[DMR])
I'm currently using an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1.2, and i require playback of video via AirPlay to a projector from here and it works perfectly fine with a wifi plug-in bought separately. However, i wish to have playback on both the projector screen and my iPhone, but iPhone only shows a TV-out screen. My teacher says it could be a mechanism for the phone save on energy during playback by choosing to only play the video through AirPlay and not on the iPhone Called Apple Support but i didn't really get the answer that i needed. Will this problem be solved if i used an Apple TV instead? Or are there existing third-party apps available that will achieve my desired effect?
My devices are not showing AirPlay since I downloaded ios5.1. Is there anything I can do to resolve it. iPad 2, 4 and 4s. All software is up to date and AirPlay is turned on the atv. Is there anyplace other than the double click home to turn it on.
When I go onto music and press the AirPlay button it shows two speakers one called iPhone Speaker and iPhone. I have the iPhone 4S 16GB, I'll post a screen shot below. I haven't got any AirPlay speakers on my network.
I have been using iOS5.1 (iPhone 4s), but i suddenly realise that I cant find the repeat and shuffle as well as the airplay options. I have been using the repeats etc so I do know where it is. I just cant access them anymore. This is following yesterday's episode of yahoo mail nightmare. I have done the reset settings, and the home+off button but no help, still no repeat.
After updating to 7.1.2 and updating my apple TV to latest version, my airplay mirroring doesn't work anymore. I can still airplay movies, pictures, music but i can't mirror my screen anymore.Â
I Can't use the Apple T. From my phone, the remote, and even the AirPlay the options dont appear on my phone , is like the Apple TV wasn't on! the other members of my home have no problem, so the Apple TV is ok, I think is my phone, what should I do?
I have a latest LG G4, dual SIM version. I use LG Bridge on my laptop and connect LG Airplay on my phone. I do get the connection and can browse all files of my phone on my laptop. But data backup and software upgrade tabs always flash "Airplay is busy" error. Why?
