IPhone :: 3GS Won't Send Texts Anymore?
Jun 20, 2012I have an iPhone 3GS, and since I upgraded to iOS5 it won't send text messages! I have plenty of service, but I can't send texts. The bar will get close to the end, but never say "message sent". I've rebooted and reset everything already multiple times and it STILL won't work. I turned off my 3G and it STILL won't work. It never did this until I upgraded the software.

Dec 2, 2014I'm using an iPhone 6+, a Macbook Pro with retina display and an iPad 4th gen. I got the texting on the mac set up once the updates came out and it worked beautifully. A week ago, all I did was change the password to my apple id, logged back in and now I can't text from my macbook or my iPad. I've logged out and back in a million times, changed my network settings, double checked I'm logged in on all devices, I've used both my original apple id with my @yahoo account and with my @icloud (honesty, I don't even know where the @icloud one comes from, I only use my @yahoo to sign in), and there's just nothing. I'm hoping theres something I can do besides a factory reset on both.

Jul 15, 2011I got my phone yesterday via Ebay. I put my Virgin sim card into it and it worked perfectly. I could send SMS and make calls. When I got home I updated the firmware to 2.1.1.A.0.6.
Everything seemed fine but I didn't check if I could phone or SMS. I just assumed it was OK. This morning at work I realised I could not send SMS or make phone calls. I got my friend to ring me and all he got was my number could not be connected to. I can still use mobile internet and emails. If I make a call it says "Call Ended" almost immediately.
I put my sim into my friends T-Mobile phone and it works fine. It also works in my Virgin Nokia phone. I've tried a factory reset, a firmware refresh and changing the APN settings with no luck.

Sometimes when I text using MMS/iMessage, it takes a minute or so for the sending bar to make the swoosh noise. Kind of weird it takes that long to send a message, and it's not all the time. Apr 5, 2012My iPhone will not boot up, and I don't know what did it. My friend said his iPod won't come on because he charged it on a friend's XBOX overnight, and so did I. I really don't know if the XBOX did it, but it's possible. The other day I turned it off to save power, and when I tried to turn it on, it wouldn't completely boot up. The Apple logo shows up for about a minute and then the loading symbol comes up and just keeps going and it won't ever get to the lock screen. I've tried to restore it. It won't show up in iTunes so I heard about putting the device in Recovery Mode to make it recognizable. It made it show up, but every time I tried to restore it gave me error codes like 21, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, and 1604. My iPhone was on 5.0.1 and at the Restore page in iTunes that only had options to Update and Restore. Update was grayed out, and there should be an update to 5.1. Then today when I tried restoring it the message at the top was stuck on "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple..." iTunes isn't frozen on "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple," it just won't say anything else. I've tried everything and nothing works. I've even tried holding the Power and Home buttons forever, and still, nothing works.

May 29, 2012I used to be able to tether my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.7.4) by connecting my iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1) through the USB cable. Now I cannot anylonger. It works fine tethering using Wi-Fi.I prefer USB tethering to Wi-Fi tethering because it conserves both the Macbook and the iPhone battery.The problem is that I do not have an "Ethernet Adaptor (en5)" service in the list, and I do not know how to create one.I am sure that my USB port and cable works well, because it charges my phone, and I can use it for development (XCode) uploading apps and running them in debug mode. I also tried to turn off the Macbook Wi-Fi, connect and disconnect the iPhone with the Personal Hotspot ON, restart both the Macbook and the iPhone.

Jul 1, 2012my iphone 4 was working fine a couple of days ago, but suddenly i plugged the device to my laptop and after a while i realized it wasnt charging anymore, i have tested on a lot of computers, wall charger, but i got the same issue, even on a mac but no luck.
So finally i turned off and after a while i realized the phone was fully charged, at least i found a temporary solution to this problem but its really anoying to switch off to charge the phone, if you solve this problem please let me know.
I believe it should be a software issue, because the phone actullay charges when its off.
I will be really glad if some apple employee answer me about this problem, i would like to know if ios6 comes out with a solution to this issue maybe by a simple firmware upgrade??

May 4, 2010hey all been lurking for a while trying to learn as much about jailbreaking and its issues before i took the plunge on my virgin 3gs. the rave reviews about the new spirit jb convinced me, so i did it yesterday and couldnt be happier. it was so easy, in fact it was anti climactic. i was expecting something to go wrong, or some sort of headache but it was so quick and easy. im a windows vista user so i just changed the compatibility mode to win 98 and it went without a hitch. so far ive added lockinfo and im using glaskart theme. cant wait to play around to modding it more. so just wanna say thanks to everyone on this forum, theres a wealth of knowledge here.4.0, who needs 4.0 now?
