i have the i phone 4 and so does my husband. but today and yesterdayy for some reason ill be connected to my wifi and then it will say 3g. so i turn off wi-fi connection and turn it on then it stays on for a few mins then says 3g again! i cant figure out why it wont stay connected when my husband has not had a problem with the connection?!

I am connected to wifi and up till about 3 days ago everything was working fine, now it shows I am connected, but I can only get on internet for about 5 mins, I have to shut off all my connections then reconnect them for it to work again.

Since it was new and running iOS 5.0.1, my 4S hasn't wanted to stay connected to wifi. When I enable wifi in the settings menu, it has no problem finding wifi networks, but when it goes to join them, it can take upwards of 45 seconds to actually connect. Once it connects, it functions perfectly fine using wifi up until the phone gets locked. After locking the phone, it loses its wifi connection and will not reconnect on its own, whereas most iPhones will grab the wifi connection again automatically within a second of unlocking the phone. I've tried using this phone on multiple wifi networks, including an unsecured network, a WPA2 network, and multiple public wifi hotspots, so I think I can rule out any router setup issues. I've done a full restore of the phone, I tried resetting the network settings, and I upgraded to iOS 5.1.1, all to no avail. Is there anything else I can try, or is it safe to call that this is a hardware issue that needs to be resolved at the Genius Bar?

i will connect to wifi, and everything will be ok when im on the phone. but when i lock it and set it down for awhile then go to unlock it the 3G is there and not the wifi symbol. i am wanting to know why that is. it hasn't done it before until now. i recenlty restored my phone because of some other issues my phone was having. those issues are fixed as far as i can tell. but this issue has just appeared. i have also been away from home so i am not on my home wifi, i am on my friends wifi. i feel as if my phone doing this that it is killing my battery alot faster then it should.

Whenever I'm at home my wifi in certain areas will randomly cut out. Half the time this happens when I go to wifi in my settings it will say I'm connected but when I try and open something up again the wifi cuts out, the other half of the time it will take a minute to re-find my wifi network. This only happens on my phone, I've been in the exact same places as my friends who also have iPhone 5's or 4's and they never lose the wifi connection. I've tried forgetting the wifi network and resigning in but that doesn't work. I don't think it's the wifi connector I think it's my phone but I don't know how to fix it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've never had a problem connecting to my home wifi, everything was working fine on Friday, I left the house, went to my girlfriends and my phone connected to her wifi without a problem as usual. I returned home on Saturday and my S5 failed to connect to my wifi, I connected it manually and it connects and disconnects almost instantly. I have 5 other devices including a samsung galaxy note 4 in the house which all work perfectly fine. I've tired switching the router off and on again and that makes no difference, I removed the phone battery for 5 minutes and it then connects to the wifi for about 5-10 seconds then again disconnects, what else I can try....

For the past few weeks, my phone has been struggling to stay connected to my home WiFi. I feel like it might be a problem with the WiFi itself, since my phone remains connected to other WiFi sources. The network shows up on my phone, but just shows its status as "Saved" and won't connect.
I have a Nexus 6, Verizon, on 5.1.1, build LMY48M. It is not rooted, and I don't have any battery saver apps or firewall apps on my phone.
My WiFi at home is Comcast WiFi, a 2.4 GHz signal, with G and N supported protocols, with WPAWPA2-TKIP/AES security. The firewall security is set to low. I have a modem/router combination (the one you lease from Comcast).
I have tried most things described on the internet; forgetting the network on my phone and reconnecting, resetting the wireless modem, updating the modem, switching WiFi on and off, the same with airplane mode, changing my wireless on the phone from automatic to 2.4Ghz and 5GHz, and nothing has worked. If I turn the phone off and then back on, it will reconnect to the WiFi, but will only stay connected for a few hours, at which point it won't connect.
I've had to turn my cellular data off completely because my phone is devouring my mobile data.
My wife and I have identical ATRIX 2 phones just over a year old. Always has been some strange things happening staying connected to wifi network but that finally corrected itself on both phones
After ICS update in November i have to toggle Airplane mode on and off to get wifi connection back after a period of not useing it on my phone .
My wife was reluctant to update hers when I did as she doesn't like change. However over time her phone kept droping wifi network connection. I would have to power it down and remove battery and sim card to get it to stay on wif for a few days. Finaly that was no longer a fix. I work in a place where there is zero AT&T reception, but WiFi coverage in 100% of the area. I cannot get any bluetooth headset to stay connected to my phone. I don't have a problem pairing them, just getting them to stay connected long enough to do anything.
I currently have my Nuvi 660 and my motorola H700 headset paired to my phone. Either will connect initially, but then go into a state where they keep disconnecting and reconnecting.
My device is a Blackberry Bold 9650 and is running OS version 6.0 bundle 2333. (I have had this problem since version 4 however.)
I have Bluetooth turned on, and both devices are set to trusted. I do not have both devices running at the same time, so crosstalk is not an issue. Range between the phone ond the device is typically less than 3 or 4 feet with nothing in between them. I've tried about everything I can think of with the options on the devices and the phone and still am having the same issue.
I have an 8220 pearl flip and until last week my bluetooth worked fine; then it lost connectivity. I've taken the battery out and put it back. I've downloaded the latest software. I've checked bluetooth in manage connections and it stays checked for about three seconds and then disappears. I've tried pairing in settings and it just says bluetooth disabled. I took it to the T-mobile store and they just tried to sell me a new phone. Nothing seems to work.

I have a 2012 bmw 5 series. I can pair the phones but after about 2 minutes it losses pairing. I noticed that the phone contacts never download beyond 3 contacts(I have over 1,000) so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I called bmw service and they were totally unaware of what to do.
Also media is not supported! When connected texts and music will not show or stream.
I drove here today and since arriving can't stay connected to 3 or 4G. Turned off 4G to try that still won't stay connected. Tried airplane mode, restart connections, power cycle and battery pull. Luckily I found wifi so at least I have that.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid 4 for my phone, my computer is a desktop running Windows 7 64 bit ultimate. I've tried to connect to MotoCast both wirelessly and with the USB cable. I Uninstalled it and redownloaded it. The part on my computer refuses to stay online, even when I am in MyMotoCast browsing through the files! I have all the settings allowed, it's on a clear port.I gave up and removed my SD card and manually loaded movies and music onto the card, and popped it back into the phone, it was much quicker than waiting on MotoCast's 10 seconds of connect time every time I reset it.
I also find that trying to rearrange a playlist gets buggy after a couple songs. Why is it designed to rewrite the whole 5(ish)kb that is the song to a new location rather than just relink to it? For every OTHER application, a playlist is a series of links that point to your songs. What it is NOT is a physical arrangement of those songs. Why is my phone's playlist a physical arrangement of those songs?
After I update to iOS 5.1 is started disconnecting with my home wifi. After the update every thing seems to be running alright after after a day my connection was lost. When I tried to reconnect I got the message "unable to join the network".

Now I am having problems with not only the wifi disconnecting continuously but also my time lags about 30 minutes. My phone would work just fine for about 3 minutes, then bam, the wifi disconnects. I dont know where this problem has came from. I am also not sure if it is just my home wifi. I have tried restarting my phone ( powering off then on & holding the home & lock button, you know the rest ), i also tried turning the HTTP proxy to auto, then back off, turning off & also reseting my router, setting my network settings, & reseting all setting. Also my time is behind, it works just fine when my phone is not locked, when i do lock it, the time wont start counting until about 30 minutes have actually passed..

We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something.When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.
