I updated yesterday to OS 4 on my 3GS and now my battery life is draining much quicker now. After limited use my battery level after 6 hrs is 40% when it used to be around 80%.Anyone else experiencing this problem?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4S. I bought it with iOS 5.0 on it. Then I upgraded to 5.1, then to 5.1.1. Prior to 5.1.1, I had excellent batery life, just like Apple describes it on its website. Now on 5.1.1, which I just installed 1 week ago, I have absolutely terrible battery life. I get about 3% battery drain per hour on standby. When using it, i get 1% drain every 2-3 minutes, on any app. I have tried restoring it to factory defaults, then restoring it back to my backup, 2 times, yet still no difference. I am not a heavy user. It seems that my problems started right after 5.1.1.

The battery of my iPhone 4S started to discharge more quickly after I downloaded iOS 5.1, but before it was OK. My location services, notifications, push and wifi are all off, but even if I don't use my phone, the battery life is shorter than it was before.

I have a IPhone 4s and before 5.1 had no noticeable problems with my battery life. After upgrading it has went down hill horribly. I got 5 hours, 15 minutes of Usage and 9 hours, 49 minutes of Stand by at 2% battery life left. I only use manual email, no siri, no bluetooth, minimal 3g and Wifi, about 40 minutes of talk time.

My iphone 4S battery life has been terrible since the start. None of the updates helped.

Since installing the 5.1.1 update my battery life has been dramitically reduced. Chragring time has also increased which confirms the update is carring extra luggage. I had 5.1.0 running about a day and a half before needing a charge. Now its holding a full charge about 4-5 hours before it shuts down.

I charged my phone to 100% last night and unpluged it last night before going to bed. 10 hours later, when I got up, my battery had went down all the way to 68% and with no apps running in the background... All while my iPhone's currently running on IOS 5.1.1. I never had this problem with IOS 5.1, when the battery would only drop to around 97% overnight.

I’ve got a BlackBerry Curve 8900 (ATT, running 4.2.0.108), and have had it since Oct. 2009. Battery life has always been OK - 24 to 48 hrs. between recharges.
Today though, after pulling it off the charger this morning around 8:00 a.m., I’ve noticed that I’m down to about 5% charge by 2:30 p.m. I have made no phone calls today, and have only sent/received a couple texts and rec’d two emails. I've never used a holster, have downloaded no apps, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both off. No keys appear to be sticking. Absolutely nothing, to my knowledge, of any significance has changed on the phone since October, yet all of a sudden --literally, overnight --I am experiencing this greatly diminished battery life. The only even remotely precipitating factor I can think of is that I did a battery pull yesterday, after deleting some old photos and emails.
I’ve searched the forum, and most of the suggestions are along the lines of “turn off bluetooth/wi-fi/update OS,” but as noted, I never used those anyhow, and the OS has always been good to me.
i am.almost 50 % of battery gets drained out by phone idle & cell standby . it doesnt even work for 24 hrs when m nt using gprs services n the brightness is also low. How to increase the battery life .
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got my Z3 in March and when I got it I loved its long battery life. I'm a very heavy user of my phone and managed to get 8 hours of screen on time out of it in between charges. I'm not sure if it has been gradual or sudden but I've noticed that lately, the battery life on my phone only lasts for about 3 hours of screen on time. I use my phone for the same things as I did when I first got it.
When I got my phone it was preinstalled with 4.4.4, I got the 5.0.2 update in mid-april and I got the 5.1.1 update a few days ago.
Lost 1% overnight off charger. 3 hours of relatively heavy use earlier like running Antutu and Basemark OS II, setting up home screen and apps, and lost only 11%. Very impressive, getting better battery life than with 8.1.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI was part of the soak test, so the first 2 days were spent trying the new software out. So I didn't really put much thought into the fact that my battery was dying much faster. However, since there was really nothing earth shattering on the new update, the next 4 days were back to my normal usage patten. Normally, I would very seldom run my battery dead in a day. 30-40% was typical. But I have hit 10% every single day since the update.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have updated my unit with the new software version 5.0.0.681 and the battery will not last a day from fully charged. i have turned off all email accounts, the only thing i got running bluetooth is always on. could someone give me any more tips on how to make battery last longer. ps. the battery used to last 2 days with all of the above turned on previous to the update.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone (Incredible S) a couple of days ago to HTC Sense 3.0. I was pretty keen on it and I quite like the animations, however it didn't take me long to realise that it's a battery killer. After charging my phone overnight, I used to go to work and come back in the evening with 70% or more of the battery left. Now after the update, I can barely pull it off with 50% left, and I haven't changed my usage habits at all. I gave up hopes of downgrading back to the previous version, so I'm hoping for an update to HTC Sense 3.5, which from what I read seems to be more efficient.
I'm not really up for changing launcher though so I suppose there's not much I can do apart from that.
after upgrading my Defy to 2.2.2 it runs 24h at most on its battery. It ran at least 2 days before the update. Now it usually runs out of battery after work. By then it was last charged 11-12 hours ago.I installed the OS Monitor from the market to check what is eating up my battery. Turns out that the "init" process starts eating up all free CPU resources after a while. The phones runs smoothly for about an hour or two after turning on. But as soon as the init process starts using the entire CPU, battery goes down very quickly.I did not install any new apps after the update besides the OS Monitor. So the apps have not changed. Still the battey dies very quickly. What can I do to get my phone back to its old charge cycle?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have noticed much shorter battery life after update to 3.1.
Nothing has changed in terms of battery consumption.
Has anyone else noticed a significant decrease in how long your MOTOACTV lasts on a charge? I can usually leave my device off the charger all weekend without it dying without using it. But this weekend I had to charge it 4 times just to keep it from turning off due to lack of battery charge. I am not using all the new Twitter or Facebook notifications and the Bluetooth on my phone was off all weekend too. I did notice that if I go to Wireless Settings my MOTOACTV shows connected to the Wifi hotspot
View 14 Replies View RelatedI know there is another thread about the Telus update that came out a few days ago, but that thread is more about issues installing the update.Like most of you, i looked for new features and have not really found any, but figure there must be some improvements in 32MB of fixes. One thing I have noticed is much better battery life. After 3 days, I have noticed that I have significantly more battery when I get home at night with my normal usage.I am wondering if anyone else has experienced the same. Normally by the time I would get home, my phone would report under 15% or less. However I do have a Seidio extended battery (yeah the big honking one). The last few days I have had 40-50% battery left.
Since the milestone/droid has never recognized the extended battery's extra capacity, it reports battery % based on the standard battery size. So even though my battery would report 5%, I could run for 10-15 hours at 5%.So, is the battery life better with the update, or is the milestone now recognizing the extra capacity of the battery and just reporting it correctly.
i received my update last night and fully let my battery charge from 10 pm til about 6 this morning, i had light use watching a couple of Internet videos that were no more then like 3-4 mins and some light facebook use and by 11 im down to already 40 percent where as before i could use phone all day and still be about 40 percent by the time i got off around 5 pm.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSeems since the update yesterday AM my battery has been draining faster. Haven't made any changes to smart actions or any other settings, but seems I'm down about another 20% at the end of work day the last 2 days. Still not dissatisfied by any means, just curious. Also, last 2 days Android OS has been top on battery use list, compared to prior to update, where it was farther down. Also, never dropped 4G prior to last outage, and now post update/post outage seem to be waffling much more between 3G and 4G.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI finally broke down and installed the Atrix HD update yesterday. What a mistake. Prior to installing the update, I could drive from home to work and have the battery drop from 100% to 95% in about 20 minutes or so (which, is terrible as well). Today after installing the update my battery went from 100% to 87% in the same 20 minutes. I can't believe that an update that was presented good for battery life actually makes it worse! I can say however, that the performance of the phone is better (touch responses, less laggy, etc, but I am sure that is at the cost of battery life). Other than a hard reset is there anyway to get this update off of the the phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm lucky that I live in an area where I have pretty consistent 4G service. My battery life with my Bionic seemed to be improving over time and prior to yesterdays update I was getting a good 12+ hours of regular life with a few bluetooth phone calls and regular push emails and by 7pm I would be at 40%. I thought that was pretty decent. Today after 4.5 hours I was down to 50% and now after 6.hours and 33 minutes I'm at 30%. In that interim period I have not made any phone calls, nor played any games, nor used the phone for anything other than checking my status of apps and battery life.
The one change I did notice was "wakelock" with the " " marks on the word included on the list of things using battery. When I queried this forum as to what this is, not an app I uploaded to the phone, I found out it is something that Moto added as a power management tool. There is no way for us that I can tell to manipulate this tool. I have a problem with having a tool put on my device that slows my battery and I can't either delete it or manipulate it. I won't root my phone.
I have already read enough of this great forum post, I hope in the future to helpbeginners like me, one day we had to IOS (formerly had a Galaxy S2) and now we are more than comfortable with my 4s!I have the cell phone constantly charging, either in the Dock, when I go to bed, Through The cable in my university (when I'm in class or on the computer in the Library), this because the phone if consuming battery (I have the iOS 5.0.1) and hate running out of battery (no phone) when I'm away from home. Then the doubt (I've already searched in many forums) is whether this is detrimental tothe battery of the phone, or simply when the iPhone detects that is loaded, just stops receiving load and nothing happens:

So had my N900 for a little over a week now and overall I'm pretty impressed. Great phone, but still very much a work in progress. One of the main issues I have at the moment, other than no turn-by-turn navigation (sorry, had to mention it), is the battery life - or lack of!
On an average weekday I use the phone to send a few texts (no more than 10), scan the news sites (no more then 20-30mins total) and catch up on my RSS feeds (again, no more than 20-30 mins total). I'm not using the media player at all and I may make one or two short calls.
Bottom line is that I'm struggling to get more than 6 hours battery life out of it. I know smart phones are thirsty, but I don't even get to listen to music on my way to or from work! Here's what I've already done to reduce battery consumption:
Removed active widgets (such as ForcaWeather) from desktops and replaced with web shortcuts.Reduced screen brightness to 2 barsDisabled GPS & Network positioningDisabled IMDisabled BluetoothI've heard some mention reducing the amount of active desktops, but I think that kinda defeats the object of having a N900. May as well buy a lesser phone if you need to strip out all the functionality to get though the day. I'd be satisfied with 8-10 hours medium use. At the moment I'm getting around 6 hours at light use - got to be something I'm missing.
know the battery capacity of the XOOM (MZ601), mine is 3260mah Reason for the question is my xoom, replaced about a month ago used to give me 5 days life, now its 2 days, and thats just scraping in.... No SD card, same apps, same usage pattern
