IPhone :: 3gs Will Not Connect To PC - How To Connect It
Apr 8, 2012
i have recently done a complete restore on my iphone 3gs and i am trying to connect to itunes to restore with a back up, but my PC and 3 other PC's will not recognise my iphone at all, it is not recognised in device manager either.
Today I received a second-hand iphone 3GS to replace a 4s which I lost.
Upon receipt, the phone displayed an image of a usb connector and an itunes logo suggesting that I need to connect to itunes before use.Â
When I attach the phone to a toshiba satellite C50 laptop it connects and immediately disconnects with an audible tone. This connect/disconnect cycle repeats every second or so and never ends.Â
If I connect the phone whilst powered down, hold the power button and home button together for 10 secs and then hold the home button only to enter restore mode, the phone connects to itunes and I get the option to restore. However, the restore always fails.Â
I have tried connecting using two seperate USB cables - I am not sure if either is genuine. There is no effect.Â
I have tried disabling USB controllers individually within device manager. There is no effect.Â
I have tried different USB ports/ There is no effect.Â
While connected, the phone appears in the device manager intermittently, appearing and disappearing as the phone connects/disconnects.Â
when i connect my iphone to my pc i get "itunes could not connect to this iphone. An unknown error occurred (0xE8000012) i have the correct itunes i also tried to reset my phone, i did this before i went to bed and it was still trying to reset when i woke the next day should it take this long?
like title says whenever i turn my phone on it has picture of usb cord and says connect to itunes with itunes picture this happened when i was trying to update the phone.will not connect to itunes or do anything idk what to do
I tried updating my 4s to 5.1 but it told me there was an error, after that my phone only showed that i should connect to itunes but it isn't showing up on there. Ive tried hard booting it but the same screen keeps appearing.
All devices surfing wirelessly on Airport Express.Replaced Airport Express with Time Capsule.Problem: Wife's iPhone4 (5.1.1) can not surf on wifi provided by my time capsule. All my other devices (iMac, Mac Air, iPad and my iPhone) can. Wife's iPhone can surf on an unsecure network somewhere nearby in my apartment complex. (Which to me, rules out a hardware problem).
Steps taken: Tapped iPhone wifi On/Off multiple times with no change. "Forget this network" multiple times with no change. Reset iPhone Network Settings multiple times with no change. Restored iPhone using iTunes as New iPhone once with no change. (Since doing that, I have restored with back up of iPhone settings and data.) Powered Time Capsule on/off several times with no change. Turned wireless security off with no change. Security is back on. It is WPA 2 Personal with a lengthy password. I'm not getting the "incorrect password" msg. Renewed lease multiple times with no change.
Other indications: 3G is in upper left. Status wheel is spinning next to my network's name. On the initial "Settings" window, my network name is shown (as if it were connected. But tapping it and going to the "wifi networks" window shows the list of available networks with the status wheel spinning next to mine.) Tapping the blue arrow on my network name leads to the window that has "forget this network" at the top, and a list of blank fields: IP address, subnet mask, router and so on. DHCP is chosen, HTTP proxy is OFF. Sometimes, the top two fields (ip address and subnet mask) have values filled in, but the rest of the fields don't.
On my Time Capsule, as seen via Airport Utility (V5.5.3), 3 devices are shown as connected. Clicking this provides a listing. My wife's iPhone wi-fi address is listed. It's "rate" however is 1. My imac is 216 and my iphone is 65. BTW, iOS devices drop off the list when they go to sleep. No big deal there.
Back to Airport Utility, in the summary tab... status is normal, version is 7.6.1, wireless mode is "create a wireless network", security is "wpa/wpa2 personal", channel is 149 auto and 1 auto (I tried changing 1 to 11 with no change), connect using "ethernet" and finally my IP address begings with 76. 76.xxx.xxx.xxx
Moving to the "Wireless" tab of Airport utility... wireless mode is "create a wireless network", radio mode is auto, radio ch. selection is auto, wireless security is wpa/wpa2 personal, "remember password in keychain" is checked. Now Clicking on the "wireless network options" button..... 5ghz is not checked, country is USA, multicast rate is "low", t-mit power is "100%", WPA group key timeout is 1 day (it used to be 1 hour but this has made no change in the problem), "use wide channels" is not checked, "create a closed network" is not checked.
MAC access control is not enabled. But it was enabled previously and I added my devices by their Wi-Fi addresses one at a time until i decided to turn it off due to this problem. this resulted in no change with the problem.
Personally, I feel the prob lies with the DHCP and ip address and related fields, but I don't know enough about what their values should be in relation to my other devices to alter them on my own.
I was reloading the OS and at some point it DC'd or something in the final stages of the installation, and it wont reconnect now....the operating system seems to be fine, but it has none of my stuff on it, how can i get it connect to reload my data?
My iphone4s does not turn on,when I connect to power ,it shows the message "connect to itunes" but when I connect to iTunes,my pc does not detect my phone,so iTunes does not detect my iPhone.
I'm on 6.0.1, have factory reseted, and i am still have this problem.
It will say "Cannot connect to Camera" and then quit the camera app. Usually when I am switching from the regular to video camera mode, this is on the newest camera update. BUT, I was having camera stability problems before this.
White Nexus 6, 64gb, all stock but unlocked.
AND, after my factory reset, recommended from Motorola, Motorola Connect keeps quitting on me. The popup shows up and in fact, after I click OK, it shows up again. I had to uninstall it.
I'm gonna probably send it back to Motorola, and do the advanced Exchanged, but now it costs like $25 to do it?
AND, similarly related, prior to my watch's factory reset, at times, i had to SHOUT "OK GOOGLE" into my watch and still nothing would happen.
I've bought a N97 mini and I'm very happy with it.However in the past week until now, I can't connect to the internet unless i connect via wireless lan. With GPRS i can't.I open the browser, it shows me on the top left corner the phone is trying to make a connection and then hangs up after 3seconds.

I am having trouble fixing my BB Curve 8520, I can connect to my Wi-fi (home) but everytime I use the browser it says Cannot connect to the internet. Please contact your service provider, which I did. What could have happened to my device? What settings should I change to get back on using my BB to connect to the internet?
When connecting my device to my pc on the do you want to connect screen, I hit the 'dont ask me again' button on the device by mistake. Now I cannot see how to reverse this so as to download my photos from device to pc. I tried reloading, no go, and my provider cannot answer this one. Nothing on help menus that I can see, any ideas?
My iphone has no ringtone, text tone, no working speaker, and will not connect to itunes. I have reset everything in my power to try and fix this problem, but i can not fully reset the phone, because it will not connect to itunes! Everything is up to date and current.
Out of the blue my iPhone 4s will not connect with 3G. It shows full bars and the circle moves but nothing. I have turned the airplane modern and off and restarted the phone. What else could it be?
I've updated the drivers, updated the BIOS, changed out the cable. My iPod Touch will connect at USB 2.0 using the same port and same cable. I just updated to the latest iOS version. Is this an iPhone bug?
I am not able to connect my iphone to the pc and I can only see the apple logo on the whole screen of the iphone. How to get the phone started and how to use it?
Recently bought a signal booster for wife's iphone 4s in hopes of increasing signal strength at the lake. The signal did increase to 3 bars, however phone still does not connect.
I've used to connect to my iPhone and setting new music, new photos and everything to iTunes. I've tried to connect, but I can't see my iPhone's name, even I was connected to it. I checked settings in iTunes and I come to delected my iPhone, not in purpose.

I plugged my iPhone 4 into my new laptop which was running on windows 8.1 (which was usb 3.0 BTW) and the Phone started connecting and disconnecting over and over again, in a never ending loop. The cable is not at fault, and I have tried this for all of the USB 3.0 and USB 2,0 ports on my PC. This hasn't occurred with any other device I have plugged in (which is my webcam, and my keyboard and mouse)
my iPhone connected to the internet via WIFI when one was available, and else via SIM. The setting Mobiledata is set.I have cheked with my mobile phone supplier, and I should have sufficient data left.Â
Have had issues with my iPhone 3G version 4.0.2 connecting with my MacBook Pro. It's been awhile now that it hasn't been able to connect. It wasn't able to connect since version 3. The problem started when I upgraded my laptop to Snow Leopard. I can connect to the same exact laptop but when booted into the PC portion. I can also connect to my girlfriends MacBook which is running Leopard. I can also connect to an HP laptop. The phone charges when plugged into the wall. It's not an iPhone issue as my girlfriends iPhone also cannot connect to my laptop.
I remember looking this issue up a few months ago and from what I found, there were quite a lot of issues out there with people not connecting to Snow Leopard. Although there were no solutions then. Thought I'd do some searching today and I couldn't find much at all on it. Did it get scrubbed?
I found something on deleting Xcode but I do not have it installed. I've tried everything. I reset the PRAM, hard rebooting the iPhone, updated iTunes, reinstall iTunes, deleted cache and preferences, repaired permissions, etc. Is there a solution other than downgrading to Leopard?
I'm sick of burning cd's and carrying around a CD case. I want a car stereo that I can hook my iPhone 4 up to... preferably something that will see my phone via BlueTooth.
