Apr 27, 2010My iPhone 3G is being recognised perfectly happily by iTunes, but absolutely nothing else. It doesn't appear in Finder and doesn't open iPhoto when I plug it in, so I can back up my photos.
I've tried restarting both the Mac (which is running Snow Leopard) and the iPhone. I've tried several cables. The result is always the same. iTunes spots the iPhone (it did use to automatically open iTunes, but I stopped that) and nothing else. No icon on the desktop, no appearance in Finder and won't show in any searches I do.
How can I fix this, and start backing up photos again?

Mar 30, 2012I recently updated iTunes. The update went smoothly, but immediately after the update iTunes no longer shows my iPhone4. The diagnostics show that everything is okay with exception of the no iPhone connected error. I've run through all of the Apple helps but nothing has fixed the problem. The same problem occurs on other user profiles on the same computer. The computer is a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. Windows 7 shows the iPhone and I can access it as a camera or drive. I've re-installed the phone USB driver but still no go. I can plug my phone into another computer and the sync works fine.

Jun 10, 2012I just purchased 2 iPhone 4s's for my daughters. iTunes does not recognize them. I have an iPhone 4 and iTunes reccognizes it. I think it has something to do with Windows 7. The iPhone 4 is recognized by one user, but not recognized by iTunes for my daughters accounts/users. Also, neither iPhone 4 is recognized on my account. May 6, 2012I wasn't sure if I should post this under iPhone or iTunes so forgive me if this is in the wrong place. Basically, there are discrepancies between my iTunes library and what's on my iPhone. Yes, everything is checked and I know how to sync. I also understand all the nuances of artist names, genres, etc. It appears that all of the music is there, but it doesn't all show up when sorting my artist, song or album. Here are 2 examples:
I have 2 Amy Winehouse records in my iTunes library; Back to Black and Lioness. Both records are also on my iPhone. However, when I pull the list of records by ARTIST only Lioness shows up. To find Back to Black, I have to sort by ALBUM and then I can find it. I have 4 Norah Jones records in my library; Come Away with Me, The Fall, Little Broken Hearts and Not Too Late. All records are also on my iPhone. However, when I sort by ARTIST only 3 of the records appear (the Fall is missing). If I sort by ALBUM, it is there.
These are 2 examples, but there are several more. This is very annoying because I can't always remember the name of records but I do remember the artist, of course. I have tried re-syncing. I have looked very carefully at the artist name to make sure they all appear EXACTLY the same...they do. No spaces, nothing.
