Bought a phone from eBay, since it arrived it will say "searching" in the top left corner. We try to activate the phone and it does not work and says "no service". We have tried to activate it through iTunes and it says exactly the same thing. Tried orange and Vodafone sims, neither work sadly. just put the iPhone into "restore mode" and restored it and this has not worked either.
ever since i had the update 5.1.1 for my iphone 3gs it has notbeen able to detect any sim and it is unable to activate, also before i had the update my phone worked perfect with the sim i am using atm which is giff gaff (runs on o2-uk)
So I have an old iPhone 4 that no longer has cellular service. I just updated to the latest version of iOS, signed in with my Apple ID, and now want to activate iMessage on this device, but it says "waiting for activation". Is there a trick to get iMessage activated on this device?
I'm a prepaid customer and has activated the weekly plan which is for 100.I got a confirmation msg saying Ihave been registered.however I cannot use my bbm nor facebook nor thebb app world or anything in that case and it says I need to upgrade mydata plan.I've used the weekly plan before and its never happenedbefore.also the 'edge' on my top right screen appears as EDGE and notedge.I thought that's a sign that I have the bb data plan working onmy phone but it doesn't work.I went ahead and deactivated the bb service and re activated my data plan twicebecause when I tried upgrading my data plan,it said I need todeactivate my present data plan first.well, its stil the same old problem!
My mum bought me an Iphone 4S in duty free in South Korea airport, she was told it was unlocked, however, when I tried to activate it with my Kazakhstan sim card, it said that I had to use sim card of certain providers. I've checked the model's number in the Internet (MD237C/A), and from what I've learnt my Iphone is supposed to be unlocked.
I've done everything I know to do (reset network settings, hard reset, software update, restore to factory default, replace sim card) still have not fully resolved the issue. It seems to work periodically at random, but only has 1 or 2 bars where I should normally have full service.
Recently, my iPhone has been having some service issue and it is not AT&T's problem. At home for example I always used to have 5 bars, but now the service will show no service and then 10 minutes it will show up all 5 bars then soon no service. This happens to me in many places.
the service goes out all of a sudden, and i have to switch the phone off and on agin to regain service. this happens in areas where i normally have good service
When I'm opening Service Status from "Options and Status" I see the "Blackberry Internet Service" as "Not Connected" although I've Blackberry service and I'm successfully using IM, synchronize my E-Mails, and Browsing the internet without any WiFi connection.
I am using the blackberry service using a GSM service provider, I would like to switch to a new GSM service provider. When I switch the SIM card the handset ask for blackberry ID and password, on entering the details it says invalid Blackberry ID. Can I just use another BB handset and use the new SIM to route all my emails and BB messenger to the new handset.
I got my torch 9800 on launch day. i loved this device and definately felt like i was upgrading from my old device (iphone 3g). as much as i love the capabilities of the device i have run into a few issues, specifically network issues. it all started on sunday when all of a sudden i lost connection to the blackberry servers(the little logo in the corner was gone..) i went to at&t on monday and they could not figure it out. apparently my service book for the blackberry internet service got deleted(i didnt even know what a servicebook was lol) so i went home later that night and downnloaded the at&t software and reinstalled the os and this worked. then all of a sudden today, my fb was acting up, so i deleted the app. then i lost the connection again... do you guys have any idea what could be causing this? im currently reinstalling the os as i write this.
I'll probably be in line to pick up my reservation at 7, but will probably need to be to work no later than 8. Can I just pay for it and leave or do I have to wait for them to activate it?
I'm giving my iPhone 3GS to a friend who currently is with ATT using another smartphone with a data plan. We popped his SIM into my iPhone abs it worked for calls but not data. What procedure with ATT does he need to do to get it fully functional?
Can I activate my iPhone without a SIM? I want to get the IMEI number off the phone and order a free bumper using the app. The plan is to order the bumper, register the IMEI number with the insurance company and take my current phone away with me, that way, when I return everything is ready to go.
I have an iPhone 4S running with iOS 5.1. I bought it in the Apple online store. I'm using a Canadian Rogers SIM card in Canada, which works well with other iPhones. When I try to actiavte my phone with it it says: SIM not valid, Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone... My iPhone is definitly factory unlocked and my SIM card is prepaid.
Friend updated latest updated software in my iphone 3gs i cant activate my iphone message like this
Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes.

I have 4.3.3 iPhone 3GS that I just restored to 5.1. It all worked good except for when I go to activate it. It says that the activation servers are down. I've tried a bunch of sim cards with no luck. Are the activation servers actually down or do I need to do a DFU restore?
I recieved a used iPhone 3G for my birthday in December, and today I tried to update to iOS 5.1. Everything on iTunes went smoothly, but when I tried to re-activate my phone, I get the message ''Could not activate iPhone. Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your phone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a few minutes.''
So I waited for a few minutes and then tried again, after a few minutes, I got the exact same result. So i plugged my iPhone into iTunes and it told me there was no SIM card in my phone, but yes, there was a sim card in it. As far as I know my phone has been unlocked, but I read a lot of things about factory unlocks. If my phone was factory unlocked, how do I find out the original carrier?
I have a iphone 3G, was on a carrier no longer, Using it as iPod. Was working, installed iOS 5.1 update and it tries to activate but complaims about no SIM. As far as I know it was not jail broken before.
just had a new battery fitted to my iphone 4 and it has stopped working again so i opened it up to see the battery and had a look but could see no damage so put it on mains charger and it tells me to activate the iphone so i pulg it in to my laptop and nothing happens it just displays the apple logo over and over again
I recently bought a 2nd hand iPhone 3gs, updated it to the latest software but unbeknown to me, the guy I bought the iPhone from lied and said it was 02 when it was Vodaphone. I got it permantly unlocked to faciliate my 02 sim but I cannot activate it as it repeatedly says the servers are unavailable. It has been saying this for 2 weeks now.
I just updated my 3GS to 5.1.1, but now my phone will not activate. I am going nuts because of this and how careless apple is with their older generation softwares.
