How To Request A Factory Unlock For IPhone 5
Jun 3, 2014I bought a used iPhone 5 that was locked to TMobile. I was told that I can request a free unlock from apple. I just wanted to know how I can go about doing this?

Jan 24, 2015Someone was playing with the game setup in kids mode. I don't know how it happened, but now the phone has a PIN. Not a PIN to exit kids mode - but a PIN to get onto the phone. I've never had a PIN or password on the phone - I was using a pattern for security but now it's not asking me for a pattern - it says "Type PIN code".
I've restarted the phone several times. It says that it will automatically factory reset after 10 unsuccessful attempts and I've already used 7. I tried the PIN that I set to exit kids mode, and 0000 and a few others. Nothing works.
I've tried restarting the phone in the "Safe Mode" and it still asks for the PIN Code.
Kids Mode was supposed to be a way that one could play a game and not mess up the phone, but now it looks like I'm going to lose everything.

With normal phones it seems they will unlock if you are past your contract. I don't see why iPhone should be any different because you have fulfilled the contract. Jul 16, 2010I've got two (well one's on the way) 3gs iphones. One is a 32gb running 4.0 JB & unlocked that has all the SHSHs on file from 3.0 to 4.0 and is on 04.26.08 baseband. The other one is a 16gb factory unlocked iphone that is on official software.I can easily do with the 16gb limitation and I don't have any problems with "accidentally" upgrading to a new version of iOS. I'm wondering if there is any performance hit by JB & software unlock. I don't think that I've experienced any but then again I don't have anything to compare it to.BTW, I'm on T-mobile and don't have a data plan.
Which would you go with and why? I'm hoping that someone might come up with some reasons for one or the other that I haven't considered.The only reason that I can think of for going with the factory unlocked 16gb is that I'll never have to wait on a JB to update the software.
