I have an iPhone 4 32GB, it is one of the older iphone 4's I think as I was told by someone. It is running version 5.1.1, and firmware 4.12.01. I am wondering if I can get it factory unlocked, so I can use it on other carriers since I do not have AT&T.
Info: iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1, How you lock apple iphone4.0
Just wondering if you call ATT and ask to unlock the iPhone will they provide means to unlock it after your contract is up? With normal phones it seems they will unlock if you are past your contract. I don't see why iPhone should be any different because you have fulfilled the contract. Never heard of this happening so thought I would ask.
I've got two (well one's on the way) 3gs iphones. One is a 32gb running 4.0 JB & unlocked that has all the SHSHs on file from 3.0 to 4.0 and is on 04.26.08 baseband. The other one is a 16gb factory unlocked iphone that is on official software.I can easily do with the 16gb limitation and I don't have any problems with "accidentally" upgrading to a new version of iOS. I'm wondering if there is any performance hit by JB & software unlock. I don't think that I've experienced any but then again I don't have anything to compare it to.BTW, I'm on T-mobile and don't have a data plan.
Which would you go with and why? I'm hoping that someone might come up with some reasons for one or the other that I haven't considered. The only reason that I can think of for going with the factory unlocked 16gb is that I'll never have to wait on a JB to update the software.
I bought an iPhone 4 some time ago at a Best Buy. Since I don't reside in the U.S., I paid full price to grab the phone without an AT&T contract. However, the phone is still tied to that carrier. I have read that AT&T will start unlocking out of contract phones. I have been to the website but understand that I require a prior contract with AT&T. Since I have never held an AT&T contract, is there a way that Apple can help me factory unlock my phone? I also read how Tim Cook's office helped some users get their unlock.
What website can I use to pay for iPhone unlocking services? I need a secure, affordable and efficient one. I have an iPhone from Verizon and I want to factory unlock it.
I bought a used iPhone 5 that was locked to TMobile. I was told that I can request a free unlock from apple. I just wanted to know how I can go about doing this?
I yesterday purchased second hand factory unlocked iphone 3gs (iOS 4.2). I did "settings -> erase all iphone data and settings" and after that phone was not working for me. Finally I tried upgrade to 5.1. After that it did not detect my sim card.
I want to buy a used iPhone from eBay Australia who was bought in some carrier (like Optues, Telstra etc...) and unlocked by the carrier for the buyer's request.
Carrier unlock is like factory unlock? I will be able to use this iPhone in any GSM network in the world?
I unlocked and rooted my Neuxs 5 on day one. Right now there seems to be a lot of junk in my phone so I wanna do a factroy reset from the settings menu. Will my phone be locked again and do I have to root it once more?
