HTC One X :: Brightness Subtly Changing (not Flicker)

yesterday I thought I noticed the brightness change, but reckoned I was imagining it. Today I thought I saw it a couple of times at work. But not I can see it happening more often. I have Googled the issue and see there are a quite a few complaints about screen flicker. But my issue is different (at the moment) where the brightness dims for a few seconds then returns to previous state. I have also read comments about lowering the brightness down to below 15. I don't feel I should do this as I like a bright, crisp screen.Also I have noticed a possible issue with the battery I can't understand. The battery will have a lot of charge left and then start dropping fairly quickly. Like 1.5 hours ago it was at just over 3/4 left to go Now it's just under half with it just having being sat next me me not being used - other than checking two Facebook updates and killing all apps with Advanced Task Killer.

My screen is always at max brightness but sometimes, like once or twice a week, i see it "bounce" slightly to a "just a bit" brighter level. it happens only once, so it's not "flickering" but given it's set at max brightness i wonder why this is happening?

My S6 keeps randomly changing brightness even though auto brightness is off. And so I found this option via search within settings, which may very well be exactly what I was looking for but couldn't seem find it in the settings menu in developer option(which has already been enabled).....

Several times now, I've noticed that my screen brightness is changing by itself, making it either 0% or 100% bright. I'm on T-Mobile, if that makes a difference.
I start on Auto Brightness and then move the slider to where I want to keep the brightness (thereby unchecking the Auto option), and then let my screen turn off. When I turn my screen back on, once in a while, the brightness will either be turned all the way down or all the way up. This is particularly unnerving during the day, when 0% brightness makes it look like my phone isn't turning on, and at night, when 100% brightness is practically blinding.

My Xperia Active is barely 3 weeks old, running Android version: 2.3.4 and latest build: 4.0.2.A.0.62. My screen brightness is kept at maximum, I have never dropped this phone or abused it and rest of it's functions are running fine. Barely a week in, it seemed to have a faintly flickering screen which I thought might have just been my eyes going. This week, the flickering has been replaced by what I would describe as "breathing" - screen brightness goes from max brightness (100%) to gradual dimness (about 78% brightness) to max brightness again - without me touching anything nor am I running out of power. This happens once in a while throught the day, not constantly. Rather alarming as I am getting very attached to this little phone.
I have been checking the SE forums since the 1st week of ownership, the flickering screen problem has been reported occuring to other SE phone models, including the Mini on which the Active has been based. I have wiped all data from my phone and gave it back to the seller for their tech to figure out. My last option if unrepairable, is to ask the seller to replace the unit. what causes the screen brightness to dim then brighten by itself (despite the latest build and software).

I'm running stock 5.1.1, and even though my auto brightness is off my phone occasionally dims my display when it's on full brightness. It's not running particularly hot (37 degrees C according to my battery widget) so I don't know what's causing it to dim.

With my old Xperia Z1c, when adaptive brightness is on and the environment light is darkest, the screen brightness may be adjusted to, let's say, 0. Even you drag the brightness control bar to leftmost, the dimmest brightness you can get is still 0. But in Xperia Z5, you can go dimmer than that with the control bar, and this dim cannot be achieved using the same control bar if you disable the adaptive brightness. If one component cannot do something in manual mode, should not be able to do that thing in automatic mode either. So I believe that this is a bug.

Sometimes when I unlock my phone and the screen is about to appear it flickers. It's not a constant flicker. It's almost like a flash on the whole screen. It has to be 4.0 cause my iPod touch does it too sometimes and it never did before. This has nothing to do with the flicker people see going from page one to two

So far I think I have a perfect phone. No weird yellow dots or lines or dead pixels etc,
However I just noticed that if I have like a white wallpaper, and I go swipe from screen 2 to screen 1, My iPhone flicker for like .01 second just one time. It doesn't happen if say I was in page 10 then I click on the home button. Only if I swipe from page 2 to 1. I dont think I can see it if I put a dark wallpaper.
Note. I tried this on 4.0. And 4.0.1 software and the same thing

Basically, i downloaded the recent new update from LG about 1 or 2 days ago and then this morning I went to turn on my phone and the screen flickered, got black lines coarsly running horizontal through it and slowly the screen over a 10-15 second span fades to darkness and then sits in a dark screen state. Then I hit the power button several times and the phone only some times will activate.
Everything appears to function fine besides the screen as I can do almost everything using remote tools (i.e. android wear, bluetooth headset, online cloud based texting apps, etc.). However, the screen will not work for more than few seconds the few times it will even turn on.

i noticed that after making a call for arount 10 mts or when the phone heats up a bit, the screen starts to flicker in all open windows even lock screen, i tried all options (auto brightness on/off , low to high) , changed theme (dark, light) , colors), phone restart.

This only seems to happen in the mail app, has anyone else seen it?When I'm typing a message, the brightness of the screen seems to dim slightly on a key tap, maybe this is a misfiring of the auto screen brightness adjustment that some OLED screens do? But my focus didn't do this... BTW I have auto brightness turned OFF and brightness set to high.What's odd is if I pull up another app with a white background, and start typing, I don't see the issue.Also, just today, I could swear i'm seeing some interference in the mail app where I can see ghostly writing in the background, in addition to the brightness flicker issue.But this still only seems to affect the Mail app?!? maybe it cheats and uses some native code paths that have the issue, rather than using Silverlight?Or maybe my screen is borked.

Anyone see this on their new iPhone 4? Thats the only thing that seems wrong with mine (No yellowing and i havn't noticed reception issues.) Funny thing, i can only notice the flicker when the screen is in some sort of light, if i wake it from sleep in a dark room you can't see a flicker. I just really hope that this doesn't mean something is wrong with the screen because like i said, everything else is perfect.

I have an iPhone 4s And well the other day i was playing a racing game. I noticed that I was pressing very hard, harder than usual, on the phone and that screen began to "flicker" when I removed my finger from the screen it returns to normal. My guess is that I the glass bends and touches the display.

I got BB 9900 in April, 2012, and have been very staisfied with it.It still has its original OS 7.0.0.296 ( i have not updated it even once ).Since last 2 days, I am facing an issue. If I pick my phone say after 5 or 10 mins to use it, then its screen flickers for about few seconds, and then returns back to normal.

Anytime I scroll, the screen flickers and the text is blurred. I used the D7 Google Reader in night mode with white text on black background. While scrolling an article, it is almost unreadable until you stop scrolling. If not, this may cause me to return the phone.

I have a 3G Verizon Xoom on 3.1. I've noticed an issue since I got the tablet a few months ago; every once in a while, when opening a URL from outside the browser, the screen will flicker, like the connection to the LCD has gone bad. It is corrected by tilting the tablet to change the orientation from landscape to portrait, and then everything is fine. The issue only happens when opening the browser from inside another app - by clicking on a link in the gmail app, for instance.

My brand new Nokia X2-05 does not browse the internet. After typing any address, it behaves like it wants to load and returns "Error occurred. Unable to complete operation. (006)". I had to download and install opera mini which is what i now use in browsing but we know that opera mini closes and the default browser opens when you want to download java files. This means I can't download java files directly onto my phone. really sad.
My brand new Nokia X2-05 screen flickers intermittently, most frequently especially when i'm running java applications or games..

Sometimes during general use my G3's screen will flicker and then slowly fade to black. To get it back I have to lock the phone and then I'm able to use the knock code to wake it up again and then screen looks fine, but will often repeat this behaviour soon afterwards. It sort of looks like the backlight is turning off, leaving only the dark parts of the image visible.
I'm 4 days out of warranty so can't send back to lg for a fix. The phone is not water damaged and is in pretty good condition other than a few bangs and scratches to the corners. The screen itself isn't cracked or anything. Iv also tried a factory reset which hasn't worked?

after the ics update my screen suffers from a flicker. trying to pin down the cause, i have noticed it is fine after i reboot my phone. but, once i go into my flipboard app, taptu app, or watch a video on Internet is when it starts acting up. i can play games just fine. i can view most webpages just fine. i can use all my other apps just fine. i've uninstalled, reinstalled these apps, i've pulled the battery, i've changed settings, i've cleared cache. i just can't figure it out. the phone ran just fine before the update. now, after the update is when i have problems. i ran into another person online that has the same issue so i know there is at least one other person in the world having simular issues. this forum is my last resort before calling verizon support and either getting a replacement or upgrading to a different phone.

My eyes are kind of damaged and I need to know if the Nexus 6P phone screen uses PWM for backlight dimming. Majority of people never notice it but I'd say 5% of people have issues caused by it (headache, migraines, seizures, etc.) Kind of like the CRT flicker but in modern LED backlit devices.
To test use a high end camera/DSLR with adjustable shutter speed and look for black lines on the phone screen when adjusting the camera's shutter speed.

Does anyone else see the status light flicker when you are making calls?I am not talking about a normal red on/off but a very faint red, fast flicker.I didn't notice until I made a call in the dark and saw the flicker. It does it while the phone dials and even when in use.I would appreciate it if someone else could check their to see if it does the same. I am worried this will seriously drain the battery.

Why does my phone sometime not open apps, they flicker, and just don;t open. I tried the reset, deleted then re-installed. Works for a while, but one app I use tracks mileage and when this happens, I lose the data.

It flickers like an old television, a fade of black. Most of the time it works fine but there are random times it flickers, does this happen to anyone other than me? or my iPhone is defective, Anyone perhaps have an idea what causes this flickering* I facetime and skype video alot, also the iPhone gets warm very close to hot point while using facetime or skype videocalls.
