May 29, 2010SO, today I went to the Apple Store to get my iPhone's screen replaced once again for the same problem. (Dust under screen) This is the 3rd screen my phone has had. So I'm looking at it when I get home, putting on my new screen protectors, and I notice that... Half the screen is dimmer than the other side, (I thought I was seeing things, so I put it against my Mom's iPhone 3G, and I was right...) and now there is a dead pixel. This screen is a dud! I'm sorta tired of my monthly visits to the Apple Store...good thing this is all under warranty. Anyone else had this problem that reoccurs? Or the have dimmed problem? I'm bummed out... I can't get to the Apple store for a few weeks. Guess I gotta deal with it...eh? There was some awesome Customer Service people who made my visit a breeze though!

Mar 18, 2015Sent my phone in for a repair because it was overheating a lot, which still wasn't fixed btw when I got it back, but the notification light is noticeably dimmer than before. Is there something I can do to fix it? Because I do not want to have to send my phone in again.

Dec 18, 2015I wanted to start using android pay so I decided to flash back to a stock rom instead of aosp rom. I flashed my Nexus 6 to 6.0.1, everything went fine and I set my phone back up the way I wanted. Shortly after that I would turn my phone to see my lockscreen and my screen brightness would go to full brightness until I unlocked my phone then it would bring the brightness down to a normal level for light the phone was receiving. Then it would do this no matter if I would in a dark room, in direct sunlight or in a room with average lit lights.
I am on Tmobile so I thought maybe it was the firmware, even though it shouldn't matter. So I flashed back to LYZ28N and I let the phone upgrade to MRA58X and had the same issue.
I have my brightness slider just over the Wifi icon on the toggles in the notification shade. I do have auto brightness turned on . Ambient screen is off.
Now I see that MRA58X is available as a download I will try to flash straight to that.
Galaxy S5 :: Home Screen Icon Shifts Keeping Home Screen Blank
Feb 28, 2015Just discovered my home screen is blank, so I thought I had accidentally changed/moved it when I turned on "Easy Mode" to check that out. Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.

May 3, 2012How can you adjust the time that the "night" colors appear in the Car Dock? It switches to night around 1800EST and back to day colors and brightness at 0600~ish. too dark at twilight and too bright first thing in the morning. Maybe use the light sensor included in the hardware? Or have a day-light savings setting? Or just use the light sensor. Is there a way to adjust when the "Auto" happens?

All the other menus or navigating around the phone is smooth as silk. I do run a live wallpaper but changing to a static one it seems the same. With all the horsepower this phone is supposed to have I expected those screens to just to fly by smoothly.

Jan 26, 2015I have an HTC One m8 which I purchased from T-mobile about four months ago. I was originally running the HTC BlinkFeed launcher, tried out the Google Now Launcher, experimented with some other launchers, but am now pretty much settled on the Nova Launcher. At some point during the last month (January) I set up a lockscreen which requires a PIN to give me access to my home screen and other pages.
That has turned out to have been a dumb move for me. I am physically disabled with cerebral palsy since birth (I am now 66). My arms, hands and fingers are pretty rigid and often spastic (stop giggling you kids). I can swipe my hand from left to right to clear the first screen and get access to the screen which presents the screen I must use to enter my PIN. Using the hunt and peck typing system I then enter my PIN. This process has become tedious and I real pain.
How can I do away with the PIN and lockscreen?
Recently I downloaded an app (whose name I cannot recall) which I thought would cancel the lockscreen and PIN. Instead, it gave me yet another lockscreen to deal with! So now I have to
(1) clear the first screen with a hand swipe,
(2) enter my PIN,
(3) use another hand swipe to clear this newest screen, and only then get access to my phone.
HTC One M9 :: Can't Clear Status Bar When On Lockscreen
Nov 3, 2015I've found a minor issue with my M9. On the lockscreen I can access the status/notification bar by pulling it down, however when i try to clear it (swipe up) the bar won't seem to go back up. It stays there after several attempts, then eventually the lockscreen will go into my main homescreen. The status bar seems to work fine when on the homescreen though.
