HTC One M7 :: Phone Camera Constantly Out Of Focus
Aug 15, 2013
I got my HTC One about 3-4 weeks back from vodafone and everything worked perfectly, then about a week ago my camera started going out of focus and i cannot get a single picture in focus. The other problem I have is I accidentally dropped my phone, this was like a day after I figured out about the camera, and it's got the tiniest crack at the top of the screen. It's pretty much invisible unless you put the phone under a bright light and look for it, it doesn't bother me because it doesn't effect the screen and I cant even tell, however the people in the vodafone told me it voided my warranty.
I had an M8 and switched over to the M9 due to my camera sensor constantly buzzing not able to focus. The Wi-Fi range on my M9 isn't as strong as the M8. I was able to get on the internet and used internet-based apps with my previous phone while in bed but I can't with the new one.
For some reason today when i opened up my camera to take a few shots it had problem auto focusing on items close to me, as you know when you tap the screen to focus on a point in the screen you get the circle and a small beep to let you know it's focusing ok, it seemed to have problems getting to this point and there was an audible high pitched buzzing or clicking sound coming from the lens itself and the screen image would not come into focus
the phone has not been dropped or roughly handled so i am 100% sure it's not an issue caused by being knocked, i have tried a reset and a reboot but the issue still remains, also i have done no recent updates and there are none showing so that's not the issue either
When trying to FaceTime with my iPhone 5, the rear camera continually moves from focus to out-of-focus. I'm FaceTiming with absolutely mad because the picture moves from blurry to clear almost constantly.
I had to replace my first iPhone 5 after only 15 months because the rear camera couldn't auto-focus anymore (a well-documented problem), and I had to pay for a replacement phone. Now after only 5 months with the replacement iPhone 5 I received from Apple it seems like I'm having more issues with the rear camera.
The camera in my new Galaxy S5 will not focus. A fix for this which I've seen several places on the web is: "You have to clear the camera app cache if you want from your camera app to take good quality photos and to focus correctly. To do this go to Settings > Application Manager > All Apps and then find the Camera app. Click on it and clear cache. This is like a factory reset for your camera." However, When I go to Settings > Applications > Application Manager (I must take the extra middle step to get there; perhaps my phone is a later model), I do not see anything called All Apps and cannot find the camera app there.
The camera is really no good if all the pictures are out of focus.
I live in Curitiba, Paraná. I've been complaining about a Sony Xperia smartphone Z3. I purchased 15 days. The same has been exposed to splashing water (shower), which is acceptable because the equipment is designed for these situations splashes and even submersion, to its limits of course, had the same problems on the 09/08/15 03: 29 am began an endless vibration, even turning off the machine vibration remained and after endless vibration, 05:00 am it stopped and did not return to vibrate, but began another breakdown, celebrates open the camera unintentionally, the which it was in this condition when I got to this point of the complaint, (5:15 am) and so far did not return open.
I believe it is a problem in sealing the camera button, as it was for him that the problem manifested itself. I now believe that if there was water into the unit, the motherboard was damaged, so need immediate replacement device, for me the device is an essential commodity. I look forward soon return Sony's what should I do in this situation, since the device has addiction but not stopped operating (for now).
As we know it is not possible to use the E7 camera less than 1m distance, would it be possible to use the front camera? Especially for business cards and then scan it?
This is my second m8 I recently updated to 4.4.4 with at&t now my camera refuses to focus I can see well on the camera when the object is about an inch from the camera but, anything further and the camera gets unfocused.
The problem i have is my camera just got blurred with no focus at all. It actually happened when i changed the back panel (aluminium casing) of the phone by an Unofficial repairing outlet. I replaced it with new panel and lens cover but all in vain.
I don't know why the camera on my E5 doesn't focus well. Cause when you usually point at something, the focus always starts to ... focus, but this doesn't.
I bought two Xperia z2 in USA, from www.amazon.com website. My phones are color black and white. The white phone's camera problem. Such as When I take a picture, the picture out of focus.
The camera will not focus at all on the back. Selfie camera works great right away. After about a minute with the back camera, it will finally focus and work great. All films have been removed from the exterior lens of the camera, so I know this isnt the problem. Camera is on auto focus, too.
I got my iphone less than a month ago, and it worked fine untill i opened the camera app testerday. i want it to auto focus to the letters in a book, and it won't auto focus, and i tried tapping it it still doesn't work. everything close up is blurry. i tried everything that i can, turning it off, restart camera app, clean the camera.
I noticed that it doesn't focus well specially when its papers with writings on it. While my other friends with iphones can use theit back camera and is focused.
Back in August 2011, shortly after an OTA Update, I noticed the focus function was no longer working.Sometime around October, I finally was fed up enough that I tried to do something about the problem. Unfortunately, my warranty had expired in Sept. Verizon Tech Support suggested a factory reset, so I did this. With no apps installed, I first tested the camera, and the focus still did not work. I reloaded all my apps and set up the phone, and, of course, this made no difference. At this point, I gave up and assumed this functionality had failed.
In November, I realized that the focus feature had begun working again. The only thing I'm aware of having happened is that the phone fell off of a coffee table onto the floor the day before. The phone was in a case and the table was about 18" high. I am sure that I did not load or unload any apps during that time. I may have recieved an update to an app, but since the focus did not work after factory reset, I doubt this to be a factor. The focus feature has been working up until today! I used the focus on NYE and all was well. No changes from then to when I discovered focus to be dead again. Here's a list of what I've done after the 2nd failure of focus:Shut down/battery pull Uninstall Shop Savy (uses camera), shut down/battery pull Install Vignette Demo to see if that app could access the focus. Nope.Uninstall Vignette Demo, shut down/battery pull Clear Data for Camera App under App Management, shut down/battery pull Force Close, then clear data for Camera app, shut down/battery pull.Lighting, ambient temperature, with/without case, inside, outside, upside down (j/k) doesn't seem to help. Can one of the Motorola guys (or anyone who knows for sure) tell me how the focus works? Is it a mechancial thing or is it all digitial? My theory is that either something mechanical is stuck or some sort of electrical connection has lost continuity.
I recently discovered that the camer a on my Motorola Electrify phone will not focus. Typically in the past I could double tap on the screen and have it focus, but it will not do it now. I tried messing around with the settings on the camera but had no luck resolving the problem.
My iPhone 5s (16GB) running on iOS 7.1.1 having a problem with the camera ...
When I first got it from the carrier it was okay and focus was working perfectly, now whenever I try to zoom or focus it just gives a blur vision, it takes a normal pictures of far views tho' ... Â
I didn't try anything else than tapping on my rear camera and it did nothing useful as it still not focusing on stuff ...
it used to be ok, but now, when i turn on the camera, and i "half-press" the capture button (in order to focus), nothing happens. the optics (i mean the black "things" behind the lens) used to move forward and backwards, but now, when i "half-press" the capture button nothing happens and i can't take a picture.
I seem to be having a problem with the Autofocus function. It works fine for close up pictures i.e. I press the button softly once and the camera focuses then the square goes green to say it focused, then I press again and it takes the picture fine. When I do the same for further away pictures I do the same process but the square never goes green....so the autofocus did not work. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? The camera settings are on normal for autofocus BTW.
According to the Android Documentation, Camera.Parameters, the FOCUS_MODE_FIXED should usually set the camera focus to a hyperfocal mode, which should cover most of the focusable area. Testing with it however reveals that on my Xperia Neo, it is equal to FOCUS_MODE_INFINITE, which means that not a lot besides the sky and far-far away buildings are in focusable area.
Testing with a simple scene with different distances, it seems that in infinite setting, even stuff at some 30 meters (haven't measured exactly, but it's far away under cealing) is unfocused.
Sample pictures taken rapidly after each other (auto and fixed even at the same second): [URL]
Is there still a way to get it into proper hyperfocal setting?
The reason I'm asking this is to be able to put the camera into car and have it stay at a fixed focus, since vibrations of the car distract the continuous autofocus.
My camera on-screen buttons disappear whenever its trying to focus. It gives me a hard time to take pictures. This happens regardless of the settings or mode the camera is on. Because of this I was forced to use Google camera.
My phone updated a few days ago with all the other Sprinters and I just noticed 2 issues I now have with the camera. I was taking a few pictures and getting an error about the Duo Camera being blocked, it went away after I went down the menu and changed settings. Nothing was blocking the cameras, no case, no fingers, both lenses were clear.Today I tried to use my TD Bank mobile deposit and the camera would not focus when I tried to snap a picture of the check. Worked fine before the update.
I've had my S6 for nearly two weeks now, and I've noticed a strange trend when taking photos with the front camera. Things that are relatively up close such as my face end up being a tad blurry whereas everything in the background is nice, sharp, and detailed. No matter how I position my face in the shot, despite it recognizing my face, it just won't bring it into focus. After a few more shots, it doesn't look like the front is auto-focusing at all. I've checked all of the camera settings, and everything is defaulted except for Beauty mode which I have set to 0. How possible is it that this is a hardware defect?
I just got my new S5. It worked perfect for about two days and now my camera won't focus. It shows red circle when I tap. Also, the camera is focused for objects in 10cm distance, almost like macro mode. I've tried clearing cache, resetting data -- nothing seemed to work.
