View 3 RepliesA few concerns about my Nexus 6. It usually gets warm while charging using the stock charger. And I take it as usual.
For the past few days, I've noticed the phone discharge battery very fast. I get only around 3 hrs of SOT. Used to get 4.5 hrs till 4 days back. Today when I touched the phone while charging it, it was too hot to touch and even the screen was hot. I took it off the charger and switched the phone off.
Is there something to be concerned about here? Is there anything that I can check on the phone? Been running stock Marshmallow, an update I received OTA.
I set my phone to go to sleep after 30 second of inactivity in the settings in display. However, this always changes itself to 2 minutes every day or so without me changing anything.
View 4 Replies View Related"keep wifi on during sleep" is set to "only when plugged in" - it worked like a charm in lollipop (it switched off wifi after some seconds of disactivity), it doesn't now.
In lollipop after some seconds of inactivity wifi was turned off, that was proper behavior I guess... It is not working in Marshmallow.
Today I've suddenly started getting a grey pop up with the following text:You must enable sleep mode in "Settings" -> "Sleep settings" settings screen.I haven't changed anything or installed anything new so not sure what's going on.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone seems to be dropping the WiFi signal overnight. I noticed this because right after waking it up in the morning, the emails are getting synced. There is also a high wakelock time for "net_scheduler", which I suspect has something to do with it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHaving issues with their Nexus 5 not charging, or at the very least charging super slowly?
Mine has been plugged in for about 3 hours and only charged up about 10%. Could it be a teething issue (it's the first charge out of the box) or something worth contacting Google about?
Have had my Nexus 5 for 4 days, and i noticed the other day that when i press the sleep button the power-down screen animation no longer happens. i dont really know the official term but it looks like an old CRT TV turning off, thats the best way i can describe it. so instead the screen just goes black. This really is not a problem just something i noticed and was curious about.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed CM12 on my Nexus 5 two month ago and it works fine. But I have the problem that it doesn't react when I press the powerbutton to wake it up from deepsleep mode. Then I could only reboot it.
I changed the "network type" in the settings to "3G" because my provider only supports it and I thought it could solve my problem. But it also hangs up the phone anymore.... I adapted the settings of the phone in the following way:
- Installed "Apex Launcher" as the default one
- Installed Klear Kat CM12 as Theme
- Additional Apps are: Greenify and SD Maid
I just tried the following steps to fix the problem:
1 . Installed another Launcher instead of "Apex Launcher" ---> I had the problem anymore with the other Launcher
2. Installed Open Gapps "nano" instead of "micro" ---> it ran without any crashes of the phone for a period of time. But now I have the problem again....
3. I wiped "cache" and "dalvik cache" again in TWRP --> System was clean and ran for a while. But after a period of time the problam "came back"
When I'm at home in my Wifi I doesn't have any problems with the phone to wake it up from deepsleep. Lastly I installed CM13 and had done an Fullwipe before... But I've the problem anymore .... I've the feeling that the phone looses it's reception and then the Launcher hangs and can't get up of his own....
My Nexus 5 won't charge - the battery is showing a lightening strike *as though* it is charging, but when you go into the battery screen, it says "not charging".
When you first plug it in (if in the battery screen) it will go from "AC Charging" to "not charging" although nothing has changed.
Am having problems charging my nexus 5 since last night.
I reflashed the Kitkat 4.4.4 rom on my nexus 5 from lollipop after i couldn't stand the ram issue lollipop having.
The following night my battery was at 20% and i left it charge overnight and i woke up finding before going work, found that the battery was still charging at 20% .
I tried with the original charger plug and cable and also wireless charging qi nothing charges and phone is losing percentage and have to keep using from the mains to keep the phone on.
When i use the usb cable or qi charger it says charging on screen then it goes not charging.
I tried re flashing 4.4.4 cleared the cache and tried different usb cables and wall plugs the problem still persists.
I replaced the battery beginning of March this year after i had this phone since launch day and new battery was fine.
I use the nexus wireless charger and as well as battery packs and the supplied charger and the phone gets to around 113F or 45C most of the time just charging ...
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhich is better? If I charge it while it is on it takes longer. With it off it will charge slower. Is it better for prolonging the battery.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my Nexus 5 the wireless charging and NFC suddenly stopped working.. Everything worked properly until yesterday but suddenly my NFC tags have not been recognized and i just tried my wireless charging pad and it is also not working..
I expect a hardware problem because all the nfc-based apps are working if nfc is turned on and aren't working if nfc is turned off.. Is it a problem with the NFC/wireless charging pad or with the pcb? I guess i have to replace one of the parts but which - is there any way to find out which one? When i lay it onto the wireless charger the indication led of the charger doesn't change the color and also doesn't seem to recognize the phone, so i guess it's the charging pad which is located in the backcover?
Everything else is working properly.. Is there anything i can do about it or do i have to change any component?
Whenever my device (Nexus 5, Android 6.0) connects via USB, the USB config always defaults to "charging only".This is a big problem since whenever I'd like to listen mp3 connecting nexus 5 to my car stereo I have to manually set the mode to MTP.The big annoyance is that whenever I turn off the car engine and then restart it the nexus 5 USB connection go back to "charging only" !!!I already tried debugging mode: Develop settings -> USB Configuration is set to MTP.Any chance to set USB default as MTP?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone is works fine with no issues, Games running smooth but when charging the charger gets hot (the phone not) , btw is that normal that my phone gets charged fast? (2 hours and It's almost full battery)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a launch day N5, rooted stock 4.2.2 running ART. A few months ago my car charger died and I picked up a Duracell-branded charger to replace it that uses a USB cable. (I can't recall if I'm using the one that came with it or the old one the old charger had.) It was fine for a month or two and then I started noticing occasionally I'd take it off the cord at the end of a drive and it was lower than I'd started. The screen had come on and the charge icon appeared, but the battery graph was a straight line down.
I dug an old $1 Monoprice charger I had and it just treads water, perhaps gaining a percent or two after 20-30 minutes; nothing like a wall charger (or car charger before) which does 25% per half-hour. I bought a PNY 2.1A charger and it's only marginally better. 30 minute drive home and it only increased 4% with Tune In feeding Bluetooth. To rule out the cable I took it and used it with a wall charger and it was fine, charging full speed. I'm really at a loss as to what's causing this terrible charging performance. I'm going to try the power point in the console as opposed to the dash, but I don't get what difference that should make.
I recently got the nexus 5 and I have a tpu case from T-Mobile. Does any know if wireless charging will still work?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIt takes 3 hours to charge my phone from 3% to like 80. My friend has a Nexus 5 and it takes him 2 hours to get 100
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently picked up a power bank with an output of 5V-2A. The USB charger which came with the device has an output of 5V-1.2A. If I use the power bank to charge my N5, will it harm my device and affect the battery life?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought this phone on Dec 2013. Now I have noticed that it charges slow using the cable given. I have the original cable and adapter.
I have noticed that when i used the power bank to charge my phone, it was fast. Faster than my cable charging.
I have google nexus 5 32gb and recently i my phone has started behaving very weird. My phone batter died and it switched off and after a few moments when i reached home i plugged in a charger and my phone wont show me charging sign nor it will turn up so i left it on charge for a couple of hours and returned to try the same switching on method and still it wont turn on. So started googling this problem and i came across a forum where it showed me to hard booth by pressing the volume down and power button.
Magically it did not work for me so i made an appoint to go and see LG Service Store and suddenly my phone turned on so i thought the problem was solved untill it happened again and again and again so now if my phone switches off i am not very sure if it would turn back on. As this is a very random problem and i am unable to solve it while the phone is on and if i charge it before the battery reaches the critical levels and shuts on its own i am just fine.
What can be the issue as battery works the whole day of medium to low use and also other hardware happens to function well without any hanging complaints. Also my phone randomly switches off if i am playing some game as it gets heated and the same story of phone not booting.
Whenever I plug my Nexus 5 into a wall charger, it normally charges at an AC rate. However, I've found with external batteries that it charges at a USB rate even if it's plugged into a 2.1A port. I find it odd because my Nexus 4 seems to charge at an AC rate when plugged into these batteries.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a proud and happy owner of a Nexus 5, but have an odd quirk. I'm rooted with the stock ROM and Trinity Kernel (which I think may be the culprit, I'm not going to read 1,000 responses on a thread in a different forum to find out). To my problem: whenever the phone is off and plugged in my laptop's USB port or the travel/wall charger, the initial charging icon that shows the battery's level does not disappear. Even when I have unplugged the charger, the icon stays until I boot up the phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIt just keeps on flashes google with a vibration again and again while charging .If the phone is removed from charging nothing is displaying.I have tried holding the power and volume down +up but unable to get anything.I have already done the 5.0.1 update 2 days back.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've heard marshmallow detects whether your phone is fast charging or not. I use the stock Motorola turbocharger on android 6.0.1 and it charges very fast but shouldn't the charging lockscreen display "charging rapidly" like on some other fast charge phones?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince the time I have received my phone, while my phone is charging, typing becomes very slow and glitchy on all the messaging applications. I was previously using Google Keyboard, then downloaded swifkey pro, but the problem still persists.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince the Lollipop update my Nexus 5 won't go into 'Daydream' mode on its wireless charger - instead the screen just switches off. I have the setting correct.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFound my first irritant with 6.0 and I have barely started to use it. When I take the phone off the wireless charger, it no longer wakes up... so I have to manually turn it on. I am positive before 6.0 it used to wake when I picked it up AND wake when I placed it on the charger Now it does neither. In addition, there is also no notification tone when it starts charging, so unless your wireless charger makes a sound, you will have NO IDEA that you placed the phone correctly or that it is charging. (And yes "charging sounds" is still set "on" in "other sounds").
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently had an issue with my Nexus 5 where it wouldn't charge correctly and only charge something like 30%-60% in 8 hours or 0-70% in 16hrs. I replaced the battery and it is charging as it should now.
I noticed the other day though that once fully charged it went from 100% to 89% in about 20 mins then operated as normal so I assume it needs to re-calibrate the battery. When I swapped the battery one was reading 50% and the new was on roughly 30% so it may have thrown it out a bit. Is it just a case of discharge fully then fully charge or do I have to charge this when off?
I've read a few threads and also found this:
1. Once your phone dies plug it into your HTC charger, (DO NOT TURN IT ON)
2. Let it charger fully (about 3 hours) until you see the light turn green, unplug the phone
3. Turn on the phone on but do not mess with it. (no checking email, messages, etc) let it sit for about 20 to 30 min
4. then plug it in again but let it continue to sleep (about 30 min)
5. once the light is green, unplug and your finished.
It was under the HTC one s forum. Does that apply to the Nexus 5 also? The phone is not rooted.
