My phone had a real bad burning plastic smell. Once I noticed it, the phone just completely died, went black... My phone company is sending me a new one. But is there a way that I can get my photos/videos off of it? Even though it wont turn on? My charger fried as well.
View 4 RepliesI bought my HTC one 5 weeks ago. I powered off last week and the phone would not come on when I went to power up again a couple days later. Took it to the dealer who said he has not seen this happen and also could not get it to work. I asked him if all my photos, videos etc would transfer over to my replacement phone once I received the new one. He said not if I didn't back them up online! I hadn't done that yet since I have only had the phone a few weeks but I have taken a ton of pics and video of my kids and I am desperately wanting to know if there is a way that I can transfer these things to my new phone. He said because he can't even get my phone to power on there is no way to upload these things now and I will lose them I received my new phone today but before I set it up I need to know if there is any way for me to save my pics, etc.

I found about about a "secondary bootloader" that I have accessed by holding all buttons-- how do i restore from this secondary boot loader? also.. is my phone charging while I am in this secondary bootloader?
All my videos and photos went into trash. I dont know how but it happened.
There was no update on phone. I did not manually throw them into trash.
How can i revert them back into the main folder with one click?
Btw, all my photos and videos were in DCIM folder, so now i just backed them all up in my PC.
Switching from a Google Nexus 5, where I used the Photos app (which i think has ties to Google+) solely. I liked because sync was in place and I could easily go on my photos.google.com and see the pictures there too (and share them).
Now it seems that with the Samsung Galaxy S6, the camera app writes to Gallery. I looked under the Application Settings for Photos and Gallery and neither one has Defaults setup, so I am not sure IF there is a way to force the Camera to use Photos, or force their "Messaging" (not Hangouts) to use Photos. It seems that when you use Messaging and identify a Photo manually from Photos, that it wont attach it, since it isnt ALSO in Gallery.
So I installed Google Messenger to test that vs the Samsung Messages. The Google Messenger, cant see the pics in Photos either! wild.
my nexus 5 was having problems, I made sure to select the back up options and did a factory reset. I didn't back up my photos to my google+ page (which I didn't know at the time was a prerequisite) I only had them backed up to my gmail account. So I did the factory reset. Phone had saved contacts, google keeps but no photos or videos. Is their any hope for retrieval?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes (not all the times, but I can't figure out a pattern), when looking at the photos in the stock Photos app on the phone, and when zoomed in 100%, they look distinctly poor quality, with pronounced jagginess and blurriness. It's almost as if they haven't "fully loaded" (for the lack of a better expression), which I think is quite normal when you first open a photo, but should disappear within a second or so, and the photo should be shown in its full quality.
When looking at the same photos on my computer (via Dropbox auto-upload), they look fine. And like I said, sometimes, they look fine on the phone too, but more often they don't.
Instagram pictures won't save to my nexus 6 once I upload them to Instagram? I tried reinstalling the app.

View 12 Replies View RelatedFacebook has recently enabled autoplay videos in your feed as a default. Facebook autoplay videos are neat feature to have video's running as you are reading your news feed but it also runs up your cell modem data usage as well as burns your battery.
Now I have several ALS Ice Bucket videos all playing and downloading when every I open up Facebook. I have been noticing that my data was going up a lot this month. After reading a article that everyone is posting their ALS Ice Bucket challenges that it is impacting people's data plan and battery are getting killed by Facebook with this new Facebook Autoplay video default.
Also, for extra battery saving tip in your Facebook setting disable Messenger Location service. How to disable videos from playing automatically in your Facebook news feed for both the mobile app and on the desktop.
I think with the latest Google+ Update, it modified the Photos app. Now my only option is to display all photos grouped together whereas before, you could sort by Camera photos, and then look into your different folders. I don't find this useful at all, and really don't want to go back to using the Gallery app.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have followed the threads showing the various ways to get the driver correct, but this time, my issue is slightly different. The driver shows as Nexus 5. I have uninstalled and let it reinstall. I have checked to be sure the USB debugging is unchecked. When I try the step of Settings-> Storage -> click on the three dots, I only get "Help & Feedback". Both my Nexus 5 and my Windows updated yesterday. Also, I get an error 10 message when I try to reinstall the MTP USP device and the driver remains "Nexus 5".

The phone will just switch off. Pressing the power button would not work at all. The only thing that can revive it is a power surge i.e. plugged in a power source. I now have my new device and I am wanting to save my photos to it. But I want to do so in an organized manner. Such as putting all the kids pics in the kids folder type thing.
