View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Fire xt311, I am writing messages in another language than english (but with english letters)- the T9 (predictive text) is always filling the word for me. Is there a clue how to turn off the predictive text input (without making user dict)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded the OS on the storm I just got to 5.0.0.328. I noticed that now when I SMS, bbm, or even typing here it is giving like a predictive text list, I don't like this can it be turned off. I have auto correct turned off and also auto text turned off, but yet it still shows up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and have had several Galaxies in the past. The other phones would predict what word I would type next, so I didn't have to enter all of the words manually. This phone doesn't do that, although it does try to guess which word I'm currently trying to enter. I'm using the Swype keyboard, just as I used to on other models. Why this feature isn't working?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to figure out for weeks how to remove things from the predictive text dictionary. All the instructions I've found have had some version of long-pressing on "Predictive text" in the settings menu, but all that does for me is toggle it on or off. It doesn't open a new menu. I don't want to turn it off completely. I just want to delete my personalized typing history.
Two other things I've already tried with limited success:
Long-pressing on a suggested word so that it says " 'X word' will be removed from learned words" works for that specific word about 75% of the time, but it still sometimes continues to come up as a suggestion, and it only works on a word-for-word basis. I want to delete my entire history.
Going to the application manager and clearing the cache and data for the keyboard app deletes all of my personalized settings and appears to clear the text predictions for my SMS texting app, but it does not seem to clear my typing history for non-Samsung apps. Specifically, I use Aquamail to read and write emails, and I can literally rewrite an email using the predictive text on my keyboard.
How do I stop this predictive text from working? I have it turned off on the factory samsung keyboard and the swiftkey keyboard settings but it still changes the the words. I can't find anything that is autocorrect to turn off and if there is an autocorrect, trying to send emails and texts with words that are not what I typed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLearned words are gone and won't add.. won't learn from my messages or apps. I get a 'keyboard has stopped ' message when I go into the predictive text settings... so annoyed. I've had every galaxy, this one has had so many issues.... dealing with this phone for about a year...
View 8 Replies View RelatedI like using the predictive text feature. However it doesn't always show up, and yes I have it enabled. If I send a text or an email it works without any problems. But when I use the google search widget or anything else that isn't text or email it doesn't show up. Basically if I'm using the keyboard but not typing a text message or an email the predictive text doesn't show up.

Its particularly noticable in Google Talk
I have just recently got a Nokia X6 but cant seem to get the predictive text to work when using the qwerty keyboard. It works fine in the alphanumeric area. Am i missing a setting somewhere. Surely it must be able to be switched on or is there an app to sort it

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have activated predictive text and just wonder if I am using it correctly, when I type a word it shows a suggestion in grey. If I want to accept I simply press space and teh word is filled in for me. However, if I don't want the suggestion what is the best way to continue without the suggestion being applied? At the moment I press backspace to remove the suggestion, then space to continue typing. Is this the only way to not accept the suggested word?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had a Pearl 9105 for a while and I think its great, but I have one problem with it which is really getting on my nerves. I dunno if Ive just got settings wrong cos I dunno alot about texting with the pearl yet.
Basically my problem is, I want the predictive text to learn my choices so that it finally stops thinking I want to use the word foot when Im trying to use the word dont. Or to think I want to say ok and not the 'word' ml. It's really getting annoying. Under text options I have context and auto word learning enabled but I dunno what they actually do tbh.
Predictive text keeps picking up names from my phone book as the first choice for all words - how can I get it to predict normal words?

When using predictive text under 2.1 on my X10i in the Message application, user supplied values (i.e. non standard words input previously) take precedence over standard words. Thus if I type 'no', I get 'Norton' suggested, if I type ''in', I get 'Did', 'to' gets me ' TOM'. I've tried to empty the User Dictionary (but I get told that there are no user supplied words, obviously wrong as I remember supplying Norton, Did etc..). I've varied the predictive text settings in Default Input (Quick Text Settings), off, automatic and Select Manually but it does not seem to make any difference at all, I can't even turn predictive text off unless I go to the Android keyboard level and strike out 'Quick Fixes'. As words such as if, to, in etcetera require me to override the prioritised setting then the value of predictive text is totally lost. Using a PC, I'd delete the offending software and try reloading a new version but I don't knpw how to do this is a X10 mobile phone environment. Similarly, I'd empty the dictionary so that the priority set was null, but I'm told by my 2.1 software that the dictionary has no words in it.
View 3 Replies View Relatedso I registered my iphone 5 with apple and got ios 8 (which is pretty awesome). But my problem is the phone will randomly multitask (double-tap when I didn't do so), open siri randomly, and crashes some apps like google search and bug reporter. But my main issue is the predictive text bar, I heard it was promised but I can't see it when texting my friends? or send out another beta release fixing this?

So I have perused the forums, and all I can find are questions on how to turn predictive text/autotext /autocorrect /suretype off (I know these aren't the same thing, I just mean all the threads are about turning something off). The thing is, though, I want to keep predictive text on. However, I want to know how to change an entry to be more prioritized. My particularly prominent case is that of "haha" and "gags." The buttons that have the letters for haha and gags are both the same sequence. I say haha quite a lot (because I hate lol. and also lol comes up pop but thats another story.) but I probably have never said the word gags in my life in a text message. So, my question is, how do I make it so a certain word is higher priority in predictive text/autotext when I'm using the SureType. I want to be able to find a menu where I can say "please never substitute gags for haha again, thanks."If this isn't possible, I guess that's okay. I just need to know if it is.

View 6 Replies View RelatedDuring messaging, let's say if I choose a wrong word suggested earlier, how do I go back and change to select another? In my old Nokia 3120 Classic, I can moved back to the word and it would then be underlined and I can press the * key to select another suggested word.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan the C3-01 be set to actually predict ahead as you are typing and save you keystrokes like most phones? Being able at to scroll through possible words after typing a word is not text prediction, I don't know why they call it that. The predict function is a basic feature that has been available for years on cheap phones even.

When I type characters which it doesn't recognise the predictive text box stops displaying the characters and there is therefore no + at the end of the word to enable me to add it to predictive text.
