Is it possible to either download something/change settings/sync using Ovi Suite so that public holidays can be added to the calendar? There are no options when adding a new meeting that can mark it as a holiday and holidays don't sync with Microsoft Outlook.

For example, today is Independence day & I thought it would be nice if my berry had a reminder for me at the beginning of the day. When I had the Nokia E71, every time I type a word on the Calendar standby screen, a new entry opens & you can continue typing a reminder. On the new Nokia E72, its more difficult to use, you should click "options" then select "new entry" then you can type the information, why shouldn't Nokia E72 be the same as Nokia E71 by typing straight on the standby screen & continue inserting data? Please note that I downloaded Version 023.002 in my Nokia E72. I hope this can be fixed on the new software update soon.

I purchased it 2 days ago.Somehow i managed to write an entry (?) to a specific day (30Jan2012) which makes that particular day freezed in my calendar. I can't see any entry on that day, but on the weekly view there are colored markings of my appointements and birthdays and reminders. From today the Calendar widget doesn't work on the main screen either.It is really disappointing from a business smartphone... I can see the entries of the day on my E90. If i'm searching for the birthdate of a particular person on that day in my E7, the searching application collapse as well.

I now have a challenge when I sync my phone to my calendar because somehow I end up having duplicate entries of events. The entries show up on my microsoft exchange calendar and on my personal calendar as well.

Is there anyone out there, with an E7, that does not have the problem below: "If I make a calendar entry on the E7 then sync to Outlook the new entry in the E7 calendar does not appear in Outlook. I've tried the sync with conflict resolution set to Outlook and Device (E7). Calendar entries in Outlook do appear in the E7 calendar when synced." So if you have an E7 that does sync calendar entries made in the E7 with Outlook via Ovi I'd love to know. I might then be convinced that Nokia can repair my phone.

Meeting dates are often based on a repeating cycle such as the first Tuesday of the month or 2nd Wednesday of the year, or last Friday of a quarter. I am not even looking for holidays that may have complicated calculations involved. Since the phone does not have enough memory to handle even what it is shipped with, it is not an option to use a 3rd paryt application so if someone knows how I can make the calendar feature practical to use?From functional stand point I need the repeat capability of at least setting monthly dates that rquire the same day of the week (e.g. 2nd Monday of every month)From the I can deal with it point, I would like to know how to have more control over the reminder alarm, such as a longer prewarning and the ability to not just snooze or sleep an alarm (e.g.Alarm set for 2 weeks prior, alarm sounds so I want the reminder again in several days and when that trips maybe again have it remind me an hour or so before event.

However I noticed (quickly when inspecting) that all the entries for yesterday were not transfered to the E72.I then backed up both devices using nokia Suite (3.2.100) and tried to transfer the calendar items that way. On selecting a partial restor I observed that calendar was not an option.

I thought I had stopped Nokia Suite meddling with by phone's relationship with Outlook. Perhaps something the phone has done in collusion with Nokia Suite, but it could also be a firmware quirk? The phone has recently been updated to 081.003 and *#7230#'d twice. I am not doing that again just yet, I have work to do.Great Maps update for Denmark downloaded this week, NOT. Massive changes have been made in recent months to a major road junction west of Copenhagen, but Maps has not been changed at all. Even some free online maps have the new exits and road configuration.I am writing this here, rather than in the software sections because I can see no reason why one has to be a software expert to use a smartphone, or accept mpas with no credibility.Oh, and the phone's battery has just one flat 14 hours after a two-hour car journey with it on charge. Only use has been 5 minutes browsing, 15 mins looking at various maps. No calls, messages or e-mail.The physical battery works as a well as it have has in my 4+ year-old E61i.Does everybody have the problem with megabytes of log files created Nokia Mail in the phone memory? 081.003 (Code 0592810: Danish, English, Icelandic, Norwegian) is otherwise stable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got myself an E7-00 after using a E71 for two years. In the E71 I often saved entries in the calendar as a Memo entry. I backed up the E71 and restored to the E7 and have all my entries back in the calender but now I find that I cannot open the memos that I saved. I am able to edit them but they then change into a regular entry. I see that I cannot choose a memo entry when I add a new entry to the calendar, so apparently this functionality was dropped for some reason.
This is very annoying as I cannot get to the info I saved now. Is there a way around this to get this type of entry back? Or at least to look at my old entries?
I have problems with repeating calendar events.I create event 1.6.2011, repeating every week for one year. I have set in phone to remove calendar events older than 3 week.After 3 week from 1.6.2011 all events from that repeating meeting are deleted from phone, including events which are in future.

I have to remove my batteries and reset my mobile to sort this out. When I reboot the date changes to 29/12/2011 - 9:00 am.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Calendar on my E71 seems to be frozen on today's date. It won't allow me move from today unless I enter a "Go to" date. But even then the meetings/reminders are not visible, apart from on the Print Preview part of the calendar. It won't allow me add any meetings, reminders etc.
