View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to all of this stuff, and i just bought a used at&T curve 8310, i have tmobile and when i put my sim card in it reads my contacts and "t mobile" reads at the top of the screen but i cant make calls.
please help i have no idea what i am doing with this stuff.
After trying 3 days to get my BB 8310 Curve connected to my network provider (I do have a data plan and internet plan) Iīm a little bit upset.
The problem: I have all necessary data-plans and also registered my BB on the internet at the Web-Page (BIS?).Ok, my handheld is also recognised and the system doesnīt complain.But: on my handheld I can see only the word "edge" (in small letters - this shows that no data-plan is active as we know, but thatīs not true) and not "EDGE" as it should be.An even better suspicicous issue: I called with the hotline from my provider and he also could see within his database that my handheld is registered and all plans were active.
So I tried following:
I inserted my SIM to another BB and it worked! (not so with my BB)
I also inserted another SIM from my colleague (who also uses a BB) and what happened? Nothing - also no connection.
So I assume that thereīs somehow a bug in my handheld? Has anybody an idea? I would very appreciate it.
By the way, I have the latest OS:
Package Version: 4.5.0.312
Consisting of:
* Applications: 4.5.0.187
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.109
when i go on manage connections on my 8310 i got yellow for bluetooth not a green tick. i have tried to reset my phone and turn bluetooth on and off and it still wont turn green.i can send files to other phones but i cant recieve files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been facing this problem this the last couple of months.. whenever I travel and get into the roaming network, my phone doesnt connect to the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) because of which i cannot use BBM or any other internet based application. As soon as i am in local network, it gets connected to BIS. I have tried everything..data service while roaming is on.. have switched off phone, removed sim and restarted. Last evening I visited Vodafone store, the guy put my sim in another blackberry device and it got connected to BIS. However its doesnt get connected on my device. He suggested me to do a data wipe which I did, still am unable to connect to BIS.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was given a BB Curve 8310 to attempt a repair. When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt is rather unfortunate. My Curve 8310 keeps going off and never gets to finish booting. It comes on, shows the hourglass image and in less that few seconds, the screen goes black, the red led light comes on and starts booting all over. This cycle continued until the battery gets fully drained.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought a used 8310 from a bidding website, and the problem ive got is the phone is usable as long as not much is being done on it, but when you start using apps like fb, msn, bbm and others(not at once) somehow the phone shuts down itself without any warning, and it cant be turned on unless its plugged to electricity or battery is removed and replaced, only to be shut down in short time after its turned on, for it to be somehow usable for some time more it must be charged for a few. I checked the status option and its got plenty free space(24mb) ive spent countless hours researching for the same problem online, and many say its the OS, but ive downgraded it, then ugraded it, rebooted it, master rebooted it, done everything to it but technically nothing works(after OS upgrade it worked perfectly with apps for around 3 hours). Oh and i forgot to say battery compsuption seems quite high, after its done charging its at 100%, then use msn and fb for around and hour and goes down to 80% couple of shut downs and turn ons after its at 5%. So, anyone has an idea what the problem might be? I dont want to buy a new battery to later find out its the phone that its deffective, and if its deffective anyone had any luck repairing it? the phone works perfectly while plugged in to an outlet or pc, it does not shut itself off at all.

I've backup the 8310 so have the contacts on my PC. When I try to restore selected data it doesn't offer me the option to do the contacts saying that they are read only!
