Aug 6, 2015I went to use my contact list and I discovered that my name & several of my contacts had been duplicated in name only, there is nothing attached to the name, but I cannot delete them. This just happened sometime in the last couple of hours, I made no changes during this time. I have a galaxy s5. I tried shutting off the phone and restarting it thinking it may reset itself; it did not change.

Aug 22, 2011I have just returned from the Sprint store where they reset my Photon and synced with my old phone after I couldn't get rid of my duplicate contacts. I looked in the store and my phone had single recordings of the contacts, for a total of around 600. I came home, signed in and synced with GMail which only has 3 contacts and was trying to figure out how to send my phone contacts to Gmail. I'm not sure what I did but I suddenly have 1200 contacts on my phone and onl,y 3 contacts in Gmail.

I also don't see a progress indicator on the Nav so I tapped OK and synced again. All my contacts were synced, but now they're in the Nav twice. How do I delete the duplicates? I have a lot of Contact with only a First name sometimes as I use to have them sorted by Business. 90% of my Contacts are separate businesses. As I am a Packaging Service Consultant Service for Food Packaging. So I have the Contact of who I call when I go to the Plants. Is there a App that will sort them by business. I find it hard to believe that a Company the Size of Motorola or Google wouldn't have that choice. I guess the Blackberry in all its dreariness Trumps the Not So Smart Phone. It sometimes hard to remember who John H, Vs John S. when you deal with almost a hundred different Co. With some you don't talk to for a couple months or more.

Apr 5, 2012Ok, so when I am in the compose message view I start typing a name to send a message to and the phone shows me all numbers for that contact, even if I deleted that number... for example say my contact Lewis upgrades and gets a new number, I edit his contact, deleting the old number and replacing it with the new. Then when I type LEW into the compose message "to" section it shows all numbers ever stored under that name, if you know what I mean..? So i am typing someones name getting multiple numbers even if they only have 1 number to there name.This also seems to be the case if someone registers a number to FB and I overwrite that number with a new number
