BB Torch :: Duplicating And Missing Contacts?
May 8, 2011my new bb torch is duplicating contacts at random, sometimes 6 or seven times, WORSE, it randomly erases contacts,both from my cell as well as the gmail contacts list!

HTC Desire Z :: Duplicating Contacts Itself?
Mar 21, 2011My HTC Desire Z has duplicated every contact in my phone x5 - the only problem is that when I try to delete the duplicates it deletes every copy of that contact. I had to manually delete all the contacts and re-enter them 1 by 1. i turned my phone off last night and when I turned it on again this morning it had duplicated each contact by 3! Also my husband has the same phone, he isnt having this problem but is having problems having no service or signal - sometimes for hours of end when my phone right next to his is fine?

Jul 2, 2012My icloud contacts started to get duplicate by itself, but the duplication of contacts were not seen on the icloud website as well as on my laptop. The main problem started when I deleted the duplicate contacts from my iphone icloud contacts list, contacts which I deleted were also deleted from my laptop & icloud website. Now I cannot see the deleted contacts on my iphone, laptop & icloud website. Is there any way I can restore the deleted contacts from my icloud backup & also would like to know why this problem started all of a sudden.

I have had cases where i try to retrieve a number but it wont come up,but once i get the number from another source and now use my 9800 to dial the number,it shows up on the display with the name its store

Nov 5, 2015I have something going on with an unknown app where the downloads folder has hundreds of duplicated files. My downloaded files folder is up to 3447 and, I'm only guessing here, but I think it only had somewhere around 500 before this? I'm not sure which app is doing this. This is occurring in two places and both are on the SD card. The first is the downloaded photos and the second is the downloaded files. It may be that the two are one and the same just that the photos folder only shows the downloaded photos from the downloaded files folder.
Also, there are photos that I have never seen before, a woman in a blue dress, a truck on fire, and others that I do not recognize. Additionally, I have noticed that other folders on the SD card are being accessed and changed as well because the dates of files inside those folders do not make any sense such as a photo that I took two weeks ago appeared yesterday as being taken yesterday. The date of that photo was dated for yesterday...
I have deleted apps, disabled apps, and stopped email from checking for new email (changed it to manual only). I thought it might be a setting in my email as a lot of the files are downloaded files from my email, but it continued after that. I'm not sure what to check next.
Is there an app that tell what apps are accessing what folders? Or is there a way for me to figure out which app is causing this? I hate to even say this, but I remember when I switched from the iPhone 3G to Android. I thought my Android blew the iPhone away until I figured out that Android does not allow me to limit the access to certain things on my phone. If I want an app, I either allow it to access whatever it wants to access or I don't download the app.

Apr 7, 2012I have an iPhone 4sI use Google Calendar.I do not use iCloud.My calendar is fine and syncs perfectly between my computer (Lightning) and my iPhone 4sBUT when I go to the pull down notification screen on my iPhone 'recurring events' are duplicated. See above for a screen shot of my calendar settings and my pull down screen I can't work out why. As I said they show up as a single entry on the iPhone calendar and on Lightning and Google but not in the pull down notifications.

Dec 7, 2012My 822 is duplicating music, videos & pictures. I have 10-12 copies of some songs & pictures. It stops duplicating videos at 3 copies. It does not do it with all music, photo's or videos, so I do not think it is a card issue. I have a new Sandisk 64gb class 10 card that I formatted with this phone. Photo's music & videos were loaded to card through the phone by hooking up cable to windows 7 computer drag & drop/cut & paste. I can delete extra pictures, but I cannot delete extra videos or music. If you delete one of the copies, none of them will play. When you delete photos, there will be new copies by the next day. Have had this phone since the release at Verizon... Like the phone, but the video playback is very choppy & these duplicating issues are insane.

Sep 15, 2011It doesnt group any of my pictures into files even though they are saved that way on my SD card. They are all grouped under All pictures. I also have a problem with the gallery just duplicating pictures randomly. I have only took 6 pictures since i got the phone and it shows i have 437 all most of them are all the same picture. Does anyone else have this same problem? I have tried using the .nomedia trick but that doesnt even work either so i need some help or i will have to return the phone this weekend.

If I use the search function, the page to the left of the home screen, i can find contacts I've added and ones I'm looking for, but they dont show up under contacts. There're obviously on the phone somewhere, but I dont know where. O and if I add a contact via the contact icon, push the little green plus sign, and add it manually it will show up under the contacts, but if i try and save something from resent calls or maps and say add to contacts, new contact, it doesn't show up. Also if I add a contact to outlook and sink, it wont show up either. Thanks and hopefully this is pretty clear.

He synced his Samsung with gmail yet his phone only picked up 1406 contacts. Where are the other 300? They are contacts that he uses everyday like mine, and friends. Sep 12, 2014Some (not all) of my contacts have recently started to go missing from my iPhone5. Not sure why.
Haven't made any changes to my settings. Only thing I can think of was that I deleted an old mail account that (1 of 3) I had coming in together into my mail inbox. Would these contacts have been linked to this mail account as a default?
The strange thing is that even after having since deleted the mail account, I can still search for and find some of the contacts in my phone. However, after sending them an SMS through iMessage (just this morning), the contact then erases itself and I'm only left seeing the number and have lost all the name and saved email data associated with the name. Â
I tried to do a restore by backing up my iPhone5 to iTunes/iCloud but this didn't work. Very time consuming to re-save all contacts manually.
