I am traveling to South Carolina next week and wanted to know if I turn off my Bell connection, can I use BBM or PIN someone using available Wi Fi connections. I'd like to avoid roaming charges while south of the border.

With my E71x whenever I activate the driving directions after about 30 seconds I get an error that says "Not available in your country/region" and it goes back to the map. I'm using version 3.01 of nokia maps because 3.03 kept telling me I had no access to install it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've used the Ovi Suite 2.2.0.245 and connected with N900 but selected PC suite mode instead of Mass storage. I read alot that you have to select Mass storage for N900, but Ovi Suite won't then be connected with my phone, but works with PC suite.
I wanted to transfer country maps to the phone so I can use it offline. Selected the Map and downloaded and it said transfered to phone...so everything seems good. But when I go to open those maps on the phone...I can't find them anywhere at all! I'm not sure where they are.....I've check the 'ovi map', then the 'cities' folder but nothing. There are other files there but not titled with the cities i've downloaded. I tried to open those files anyways (having a "?" as their icon) and then selected I think 'Application' or something as ways to open the file.....then needed to download but 0kb...??? it then said unable to download, the file could be corrupted. So now..I'm stuck.
I don't know where the maps were transfered to. Oh and I check on the Ovi suite Map tab and selected my device, and it should alllll the cities and countries listed in my device (phone) already....but I can't find/open them on the phone.
I have downloaded ovi maps to my phone but now I want to download the map of my country with pc suite. I cant get it to work. OVI suite does not work on my computer. Is there a way to download country maps without OVI SUITE?

I wanted to get a practice run at doing this on my iPhone, because I am going to Europe where , obviously, I don't want to using my data. I know in Europe, I would turn roaming off. So my real question, is how do I really turn off my data plan at Rogers to try out of Navignon works on pure GPS? My phone is unlocked and I am currently outside my home country. Whenever I call out, I can simply call with the number without adding the calling code, but when I am texting, I have to add the calling code as if I were in my home country before the text gets sent. Also, when I choose a contact in my phonebook, I do not have the calling code saved in the numbers, but for some weird reason, it adds it. Is this normal? Is there a way for me to turn it off?
[edit] A side note. I add the calling code as another field in the phone book. I add it as a home number so I can just text with that field instead of typing the entire number with the calling code. For some weird reason when I am getting an incoming call, the name is shown along with the number with the calling code.
