May 18, 2011If you wiggle the plug in the phone it will start to charge and then quite again till you wiggle it again. Any ideas on a fix?

When the battery is inserted the screen shows a battery with a red cross. It worked once and I monitored to see the charging work. Then soon after turning off the unit and restarting, it would no longer charge.
My Storm 2 stopped charging with the wall and car adapter, but will charge with the computer using the USB port. I replaced the battery, but still no change.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been having this issue with my phone for a couple weeks now. Originally I thought I had an issue with my battery and I replaced it. Once I replaced it, my phone would only charge after I tried about 10 different times. It would have to stay untouched and anytime the cord was touched or moved it would stop working.
Over the past 3 days though I cannot get it to charge more than 10-20 seconds no matter how much I try. I put my barttery in my girlfriends storm and it charged fine so I know it is something to do with the phone. It also has the same issue when I charge it with my computer.
Is the USB port shot and will I definitely need a new phone, or might there still be some way to save it?
i sent my phone in to be repaired, and just got a new handset and battery.i have tried charging my phone for 2 hours now and on the screen all that appears is a big battery symbol with a red x through it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy employer's phone stopped taking a charge had me order her a new battery for her Blackberry Storm 9530. The battery got here today, but the phone will still not charge. The phone is not detected by any computer it is plugged into, the charge light will not come on, and the phone won't turn on at all. I checked the USB cable by charging both my Kindle 2 and Droid Bionic. I've e-mailed the office tech wizard who originally thought it was the battery to get his thoughts, but was wondering if it is more likely that the phone is defective (as it is my employer's phone, I don't know if anything unfortunate had befallen the device before it stopped functioning).

Im having major issue's with my 9500 not charging ive put a new battery in and taken the phone to a local mobile phone repair man both unsuccesful when i put the battery in another phone it will charge just not in mine.
in d past few months, i've had to charge my battery using a desktop charger. I've tried using my wall charger. I've tried using my wall charger and usb but it doesn't work. I even changed my charger thinking it had a fault. Now the thing is, when I plug my phone, the lightning bolt appears indicating dat its charging and den it goes of after about 2 minutes. I've tried unplugging and replugging several times and even done the battery pull a couple of times all to no avail. i thought it mite be dat der was something wrong with the charging port but whenever i plug it to my computer to transfer songs in mass storage mode,it works just fine. And I do everything i want to do without a hitch. please what else can i do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI JUST bought a new verizon model phone, and I charged it into the wall charger for 4 hours to make sure it was charged. When it is plugged in, a battery with a lightning bolt appears on the screen, so I assume it is charging. But, when I unplugged it, and turn on the device, I see the hourglass/clock on the screen, and then it goes to a page saying "Blackberry" and it begins loading, however, the phone turns off and dies. After that, I can't turn it back on. I tried putting it back into the charger for 5 mins, then repeat turning it on, and the same thing happens.
I then connect the USB to the computer, and I have the Blackberry Desktop software. The "summary" part can tell it's a blackberry storm 9550, but then, all the other sections say the device isn't connect. I can hear the phone disconnecting and reconnecting to the laptop also. Then a pop up appears stating the device isn't connected/troubleshooting and to try re-trying to find the phone.
I have gotten a Storm 9530, and have a slight problem. I wanted to connect it to DM, and once I plug in the USB, the blackberry only charges, no 'device detected', no messages whatsoever.I have looked under the settings of the Blackberry - 'Memory'

Is there something I am missing here? I have tried two different PCs and lots of USB ports.Any suggestions?I have tried to force detection of blackberry device, but when I start the DM software, I get a message saying:"Before you begin verify that your blackberry is connected..."
The battery simply won't charge from my charger. It will charge fine in the car, but from the wall? I have to manipulate the plug (as if there's a short), but there isn't. Now, it just doesn't hold a charge at all.And, I got a new battery, so there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had this problem a couple times before but it happens way more frequently since the update to 5.0I've searched the forums and found a couple others with this problem, but no one seemed to know what the issue is.
Sometimes when I plug in the charger, the phone will not charge. The phone will go into bedside mode (with the clock displayed) and the little battery icon in the corner will have the little yellow lightning bolt in it. Then... nothing. It doesn't charge and sometimes seems like it DRAINS the battery.
Then battery will completely drain and auto power-off. When I plug the phone back in the screen goes all white with a large battery icon in the center of the screen with a blue lightning bolt through it. According to what I have been reading here, some think it is a faulty battery and some think it is a faulty USB port.
How many Storm 1 owners are there that's ready to upgrade to the storm 3 when it comes out, or thinking of going with something totally different?

I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?
Its very odd that both phones exhibit the same behavior.. and just for kicks i left 8.1 on one and put 10 on the other.
I have a Bold 9000 and it is draining the battery very quickly doesnt even last a few hours with a couple of calls and when its flat will only charge if I take out the battery and put in on a universal charger it wont charge with the blackberry mains charger, car charger or usb connection.I have bought two new batteries and all the same thing, turned off all applications I can see.The phone was bought new from an ebay seller in December and I cant get any response now from them and they are no longer on ebay.I have seen something about updating the system.

I then went to move my phone plus charger upstairs so i could charge it overnight, plugged it in with the same charger it worked with earlier and no sign of charging. View 8 Replies View RelatedHas a Storm and it just shut off on. When I pull the battery, the red light comes on for a few seconds and the screen and buttons light up. Then, it starts over. 20 minutes later and it's still in that same cycle.
It's rocking Verizon's official 5.0 and she doesn't do anything to modify or hack it. I've never encountered this before.
I'm wondering if the OS became corrupt, but we're @ Red Lobster and there's nothing I can do now.
I'm having problem with my storm phone ever since it was dropped in water. I left it to dry for a week. Since then I replaced my battery and the phone came on with the clock and then the screen showed up. and could not do anything. Then the screen went black. Now when I try to recharge it only a green light appears and nothing else. Did I kill my battery and is the phone no longer good or it's just my screen and i can replace it.

I have no problems doing the manual activation to allow me to make and receive calls. However, I cannot register my phone to get my data usage set up. After hours of troubleshooting over the phone with Verizon, they've some up with the conclusion that I have to be in the US, and on the Verizon network to register the phone. I have always been on the global data plan. So, basically right now I'm with a smartphone that has zero smartphone capabilities. is another way to get this phone activated.
