View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had an iPhone 3GS on Orange since April 2010, and am waiting to upgrade until the 5 (or whatever they call it) comes out later this year. I've always had a full 3G signal in my house since I have had my iPhone. Around 3 weeks ago, I suddenly noticed one evening that I had no signal, I put it down to a local reception problem or something and ignored it. Later that evening though, I realised that my wife, who has a Blackberry Curve also on Orange, still had a full signal. I also have an iPad 2 3G on Orange, which had full signal still, and then my brother came round with his iPhone 4 on Orange and again had full signal.
The next day I was driving to work and suddenly my signal reappeared, pinging in half a dozen texts and missed call alerts etc. Then when I arrived at work (where I usually get 2-3 bars of signal) again my phone showed No Signal. One of my colleagues has an iPhone 4 on Orange, and sitting on the table right next to my phone was getting 3 bars of 3g signal, where I had nothing. Walking around the town on my lunch break I managed to get 1 bar up and get a text in.
Over the last few weeks this pattern has repeated. I can still go to some places where I can get a full 3g signal. Sometimes I'm driving and the signal comes in for a while then goes. Sometimes I go to larger towns and get a full signal easily. However mostly for the last 3 weeks I'm getting no signal. When at home, if I go out of my house.
I have tried a normal restore, a reset and a DFU reset. Funnily enough these all seem to make it suddenly work again at home for about half an hour, then it disappears again. I've read about some people having a problem with jailbroken phones, but this phone never has been. I'm guessing there could be something wrong with the internal ariel, but it puzzles me why it still sometimes picks up a signal. Is there a signal amplifier in the phone that could have gone wrong and it's making it harder to find the signal?

If I restart my phone the signal indicator reappears and I can make a call with out a problem. Then at some point it will lose the signal indicator again and I can not receive calls or send them. After the phone has been restarted I get flooded with all the texts or missed calls I have had, one of these was an important call from my doctor

I have a iPhone 3GS, and have had no problems with it whatsoever. However, recently whenever I am using an ap that is sending/receiving data (either through Wifi or 3G connection) my signal drops out every minute or so for several seconds, before searching and reconnecting, and resets my Wifi connection also. However, when simply texting or talking on the phone this doesnt occur. The problem seemed to have begun after installing iOS5, but since updating to iOS5.1, it still remains the same.
I have tried all the basics of reinserting my sim, restarting the unit, as well as trying a soft reset etc. It seems odd that the problem only primarily occurs with 3rd party aps, such as banking, chat and social networking including facebook.

My iphone 4 on 3uk network keeps losing 3g signal for no reason and its driving me mad. Switching it on and off restores signal for a while but it looses it again. Ive tried network reset, hard reset, restore, and its still doing it. Any ideas what it might be? i dont want to have to ring three because no they will just send me a 'refurbished iphone' ps have also updated it to newest software that came out today and it still happens:

I bought a factory unlocked IPhone 4s (Model MD234LL and Serial DNPGYCCWDT9Y) from US and after the software upgrade 5.1.1 (9B206) I find that the device looses signal strength and does not connect to Internet 3G or on other occasions Internet connections drops. Sometimes I have "No service" that also comes up. Even making phone calls is difficult and during calls the conversation is dropped and i have to call back sometimes. I also use a BlackBerry and have a connection from same service provider but my BlackBerry shows better Internet browsing capabilities than the iPhone. When the iPhone shows no service my BlackBerry has signal strength.

if this is a 'feature' or a fault. I find that if my phone loses signal (i.e. going through a train tunnel) then it does not automatically reconnect once back out in the open air. I didn't realise this and wondered why I was not getting email feed on my phone. I pressed the top button to activate the screen and it briefly showed no signal before quickly registering full signal and then downloading about 15 emails. It seems that I have to wake the phone up after signal loss or else it will just sit there doing nothing. With the best will in the world this is going to be difficult - it is possible to lose signal fairly briefly and not even realise in which case the phone could sit unconnected for hours before I noticed all was not as it should be. Does anyone else experience this? I have had HTC phones in the past (a Desire HD just prior to this One S) and have never come across the issue before - my phones have always instantly reconnected as soon as a signal becomes available
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a N97 mini and notice that I keep losing the signal. I can be sat there, the phone won't move and yet I'll go from 4 bars to virtually one/none at all. I had a similar problem with another N series and apparently it was to do with the internal antenna.......I'm sure its not the network as was on 3 before changing over to O2 and had same issues ! Also does anyone know if the CR 116 will fit the mini as well ?
View 29 Replies View RelatedPerhaps its a coincidence but I recently updated my iPhone to 3.1.3 and now that I'm in the office, I'm losing 3G access. I've always had a weak 3G signal in some parts of my office but it seems pretty consistent that if I put my iPhone in my pocket and then later go to use it. I'll not have 3G but rather edge.Anyone else every hear of this issue - losing 3G connectivity suddenly when it was not a problem before?
Is it related to the patch? I tried searching both here and google and I've not come up with anything that indicates this.
My problem is in my new phone Z3 Dual, every thing in the phone is good and running properly but i noticed one problem recently.
when i receive calls or starting calls, some time the signal is suddenly lost and call broke and i lose the phone call then it works again.
my sim is nano sim and works just fine.
My torch 9800 is always displaying sos. I have tried a new sim card, tried rebooting it and manual signal search but nothing work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently noticed that my xoom is losing connection to the web. In the lower right it says that I have a 3g signal, but none of the apps or browser can connect. After a manual reboot it seems to work again. I never saw this before sending it in for the 4g upgrade. Also this seems to be happening a couple times a day
View 9 Replies View RelatedFor starters i love this handst but getting very annoyed by this fault I keep on having.Pretty much i am on my 3rd N900 as my last two kept on telling me to insert a sim card when there was one in there which worked with other phones and other sim cards did the same thing in the phone. Also it is always loosing the signal.usually a quick reset fixes this problem but now this phone won't pick it up at all. It has had no signal for 24 hours. Sim works in other phones and other simcards have the same problem in this phone.
I have changed from dual to gsm and 3g but still no luck. Carphonewarehouse says it is a antenee problem but this has happened to 3 of them!! Any ideas, as i am looking to swap it for the Nexus One which i don't really want to do but will be forced to if none of you have a fix.
The last couple of times I have used my GPS the phone frequently loses it's GPS signal. The phone is placed near the gear shift on the center console.
I saw a thread on Slickdeals that stated Google was replacing broken phones with re-furbished phones is purchased through the Play store. In the thread several people stated that there were GPS problems with the 1 batch of phones.
So I recently got my Nexus 5, switched as an avid Blackberry user (of the last 12 years, and 6 devices!) So far I LOVE the Nexus 5, and Android OS I think I should have been made the switch earlier. As soon as I got my phone and activated with my existing T-Mobile SIM, everything was working fine, except the Mobile DATA Network wouldn't work (only would work via wi-fi.) I called T-MO Tech Support 3-4 times, and after doing a factory reset, everything was back to working GREAT!
Now, 1 week later the Data Network stopped working AGAIN (I can make and receive calls, and text messages, however no Internet via Mobile Network.) I didn't change any settings or anything.. Again, I called t-mobile and they tried EVERYTHING (reset APN Settings, checked APN, Protocol, etc..) The last thing they asked me to do again was a factory reset, and once again everything seems to be working fine.
My question is: Why it keeps occurring? I don't use very many apps (FB, IG, WhatsApp, Weather, &Twitter only.) T-Mo was suggesting it could be an app causing this issue but I doubt it.
I m having an factory unlocked iphone 4S and i starts losing my signal bars when i take out my phone from case (bumper) and sometimes in case also when i hold my phone with some force its again starts lossing its signal bar Is any 1 having this problem ..?i m having iOS 5.1..!

My Curve 9360 on Orange keeps losing UMA connection depsite being connected to wi-fi (browser and app udate work fine) - I've looked around and people suggest a router problem but this happens to me everywhere so I can't believe that every router I come into contact with isn't set up right?
Haven't tried a battery pull yet - not sure how. Currently running on OS 7.1.0 Bundle 1133 which I updated tonight - but there's been no change in UMA behaviour

View 1 Replies View RelatedEarlier today I went to put some pictures of my Curve on to the computer so I plug it in etc. it then tells me I need to update the phone so I agree. It was taking a while to update and I had a bus to catch so against my better judgement I disconnected the phone and now I get the "App Error 205." So I ask what is the best way to fix this for a techno-noob and will I lose my contacts etc?
