This was great as I could save my important messages and keep the phone memory free. I wanted to repeat this procedure, but can't find a way to do it.
The way I did it at first was go to Messaging/Options/Settings/Other/Memory in Use and select "memory card" rather than "Nokia". Upon exiting it asked it I wanted to copy my existing messages to the memory card, so which I replied yes.
Now it doesn't ask anymore, so my question is, does anyone know if this is a one shot deal, or is there a way these messages can be copied?
When I try to move some files from my phone memory to my memory card, the phone gets stuck on moving files for AGES and then the files dont even get copied sometimes! When I tried to do this file by file, it did the same thing, and I waited for half an hour, before trying to exit, (the phone didnt respond) and I had to get the battery out to restart the phone! I tried a master reset, and now I've lost my themes and ringtones.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to copy all my entries to the SIM card? I already know the SIM card has limited space, but I only have about 80 contacts that I want to save on it. I might be swapping phones for a bit to test out another device, and I want to have my phone numbers stored in the SIM card. After all, that's the beauty of using a GSM phone and a SIM card.
I have the BB Pearl 9100 and I'm able to copy the contacts using the 'Copy to SIM Phone Book" feature, but I can only do it one by one. Is there a way to copy ALL of them?
I am having a really hard time copying my contacts from my Blackberry, on to my computer. I am using DM 5.0 with the sync feature, and I chose the address book destination to my Outlook express but upon syncing it defaults to the generic Windows Address book. But I get a fail message, that Address book is not available.
I tried it both on XP and Vista but it wont budge. No contacts get copied over.
I would like to copy my contacts from my N900 to my new work phone, they are all syncd in Ovi Suite but I cannot seem to find a way to copy them. Old phones were simple copy to sim! I have tried mail for exchange but unfortunately this has never worked for me on the N900 I always get same error message re contacting the server! I would really like to be able to use the same contacts on my new phone to save me having to input by hand.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought Nokia 5800 xpress music and want to move my previous contacts from my old mobile (N70) to the new one. I tried to send them using Bluetooth but they received as messages; so I have 800 contacts that means I received 800 messages. It obvious that it will take a huge time to open each message (or business card) and then save it to my new phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe screen on my E66 recently broke as a result, I can't see anything that I'm doing. Even worse, I have about 200 contacts that I need transfered to my new phone (Nokia actually). To do this, I want to copy my contacts to the SIM card. As you have probably realized by now, the broken screen makes this a challenge. What I'm hoping for is that someone with an E66 will give me a keypress-by-keypress walkthrough to copy the contacts from the phone to the SIM. That way, I can hopefully do it blindly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my new phone (Lumia 900) today and so far I love it! I transferred my music via Zune but when my old phone an N900 died I copied my contacts list onto my laptop. I have a folder of vCard files which I want to put on my new phone. I have connected via the USB cord but the phone doesn't appear on the list of drives etc. in windows explorer. For some reason it appears in devices and drivers, but I can't drag an drop into it. What I need is a similar thing to the sync option in Zune. To be clear this is my list of phone contact numbers only, not email etc.

Obviously I need a new phone but unfortunately my contacts are saved to the phone, not the sim. My address book takes up quite a bit of memory; so does my calendar -- both of which were synced from Outlook. Is there any way to have the addresses/calendar data stored onto my microSD instead of the device memory?
Lastly, I noticed that when I call people using my Curve, it shows up on their caller ID as "private name, private number." Where can I change this setting? Is it in my provider's settings (which I can access online) or on the BlackBerry's settings somewhere? Also, is it possible to at least NOT have it show private when calling those on my address book, such as friends & relatives?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust recently my macbookpro was stolen that I backup my iphone to. I didn't have a recent backup of data on this so I can't just plug in a harddrive and get everything back, but what I want to do is connect my iPhone to my replacement mbp and copy everything off it before it does a sync. I know that when it syncs for the first time it will erase everything so want to avoid losing all my photos, apps, music, contacts etc!I know Apple don't really tell you how to do this but I'm sure there is a way around it. Its very critical as I can't sync my phone until I sort this out otherwise I will lose everything.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently decided to upgrade my memory card from 4 gig to 8 gig. So what I did is I removed the memory card from phone and copied its contents onto the 8 gig card. When I put the new card in the phone it worked and everything, but some applications mysteriously disappeared and neither the contacts key nor the contacts icon (phonebook) work anymore,. ie can't see my contacts unless I remove the memory card.
