I love my blackberry but have just downloaded new software and am very frustrated as the "add to contacts" option when you receive a text message from an unknown number has gone. how to add a new person to contacts.
I am a user of several e-mail addresses as a sender in my Gmail account.I cannot use my other sender addresses than default gmail address ([URL] address).Do you know if I can use the other addresses as a sender and how to set up.Curve 9300, default messaging app by RIM.
Is there a way to sort my sms / mms texts by the sender? For example: I receive 3 messages from Jane & send 1 back. I receive 2 from John & send 2 back. How can I put them all in specific groups so that I see a folder for Jane's & John's texts separately?
I think this may be due to a recent upgrade but undetected until now, but when I used to forward a text message it would say John(sender) said: blabla msg... now it only forwards the message, how come?
I got Xperia X10 mini 3 weeks back and I observed a strange behavior.Suppose you receive an SMS from sender "A".After few days in the inbox, the messgae is still there but the sender's name autmatically got changed to "B".This has happened twice with me.And as far as I can recollect, this happened after I restarted my handset.
I upgraded my Xperia Ray to the official ICS. I have been playing around with my handset and this is one of the problems that I couldn't find an answer to.
1. On tapping a message that I received from a known sender, the conversation list shows up, and the sender with number is displayed at the top of the screen.
2. On tapping the sender with number shown at the top, it goes to Contacts asking me to search ( box provided to key in) among the list of available contacts.
3. I select the sender from the list, but it again goes to conversation list from step 1. above.
It is rather strange, but since I updated to iOS 4.0 and set up my Gmail account for Mail and Notes via IMAP, everytime I check my mail on my iPhone, and later delete it on my Mac, the iPhone Mail App shows scores of unread emails, with as No Sender, No subject and no option to delete the same. Anyone else experience this? Any workarounds/solutions?
All my new emails coming in using exchange come in with no sender. It is only until I read my email from my computer does it know who the sender is. I am unable to reply to any email. This started directly after I jailbroke my iPhone 4. Is anyone else having this issue it is very annoying.
I keep receiving between 2 to3 SMS's per day from a user just identified by a number (namely, 70371). The messages contain a URL address. These 50 to 70 messages per month serve no purpose but to increase my phone bill. I have asked my carrier (Movistar), who has told me there is no way to block the sender (obviously: my carrier is happy with the fact that 10% of my phone bill comes from these SMS messages). Any way to block a specific sender?
I have an LG G3. I did not like the stock messaging app because I would get missed message notifications and a couple random similar messages. so I tried two other apps. Textra and Google messenger. I still got the same missed messages so I figured it was a network type of thing so I removed the two apps. Now I have a notification at the top of my phone. It shows the MMS symbol and when I expand it open it says I have 6 MMS message not found. I clear it and it comes right back.
Up until the day before yesterday (with no iOS updates in the interim), I was able to use my iPhone 3GS (iOS 5.1) as a mobile security key with my PayPal account - when I want to log in to my Paypal account or make a payment, a confirmation code is sent by SMS to my phone. This has all been working nicely and adds a layer of security to the use of my Paypal account. Until this morning when I went to make a payment and the SMS arrived but was totally scrambled. Instead of the usual "Your 6-digit code is....." message, it's all wacky characters like upside-down triangles, and characters from other languages like Greek and Russian. Tried turning phone off and on again and re-adding to Paypal account but problem persists. Googling indicates that this may be a problem with iPhone interpreting SMS rather than Paypal sending rubbish, however I can't find anything more recent than 2009 on this problem.
I sent an iMessage to my husband which he swears he never saw or replied to. (I believe him ) But later this evening, both our phones show a reply that looks as if it was sent from his iPhone immediately after I sent mine. It said something that kind of made sense as a reply, but definitely didn't sound like him. Weird!
I have a question about SMS texts. My Fire Dept sends text messages with the call location and info to our phones. I would like to save the Caller ID to a contact so I can assign a custom text tone. The problem is that every text ID is different. The first was 1 (410) 000-052 and then the next was 1 (410) 000-053.
We have one user who can't seem to get PDF or Excel attachments from one sender. I sent him test emails with pdf and excel attachments and he got them just fine. We are running BES 4.1.7.17. I'm drawing blanks on this one. Oh, and the email in his outlook has the attachments! So, we know that they aren't getting stripped on the sender's side. He's using a Curve 8530 from Verizon.
My mum got the Nokia E72 yesterday, and when she recieves a text message it just says "One message received". Now, on all her old Nokia's (6600 Slide the last one), once a text message was recieved, it says "One new message", but also the sender beneath this. Is there a way to get the sender's name on the text message notification screen, like mentioned above?
Here is my problem: if I receive an sms from someone, any other sms sent to me afterwards will appear as if they were sent from the 1st person. i.e. the contact number or name of the others will not show.thus if I also compose an sms, it will show the contact number of the 1st sms received. I can only send to another contact if I delete that 1st sms received and then compose a new one, after which the newly selected contact will show.
I got this problem after i upgrade my bold to OS 5.0.0.411 .I received 1 txt message and everything seemed fine.. at least I thought so ;A bit later I got a second txt (SMS) message but the content of the msg didn't make any sense as it seemed only relevant to another person in my contacts...
I had one sms in my SMS/MMS inbox and all SMS that came in after that appeared to be from the same person although they weren't! .... In other words, I get the threaded SMS but showing ALL incoming messages as being from the same person (the first one that sent me SMS after I installed the OS 5.0.0.411)!
I currently have (3) email accounts on my Blackberry Torch. Prior to upgrading my OS to 6.0, the sender would automatically default to the email account I am composing my email from. After the upgrade, now I have to manually select the email address from the "Send Using" drop-down. It defaults to [Default] and not hello@hotmail.com. This is just an added step that is tedious when I am sending out emails from different accounts.
My work just gave me a Curve 9300 and set me up with access to our company email. We use Outlook while on the company intranet and Outlook Web Access while outside the facility. The Curve is set up to access email via the Outlook Web Access. The problem I'm having is that when I send an email from my Blackberry, my email address appears as the sender rather than my actual name. Almost as if my name is missing somewhere and the device only has my email address to identify me.
This is only a problem from the Blackberry... when I send from Outlook or Outlook Web Access from a PC, my name is displayed correctly as sender.how to enter my name as sender, instead of a raw email address? I've noticed Gmail and Yahoo both have a "Display Name" field, but cannot find this option with my work email.
Not sure if this issue is related, but I changed my apple ID password yesterday, and this morning, my Iphone asked for my password before I could read an incoming text from a contact that is already stored in my iphone. And since then, text messages from some of my contacts, when I look in the "messages" identify the incoming message's sender not by their appropriate contact name I have stored in my iphone for them, but instead identifies them as " +1 and the phone number of that contact." For example if I have a friend stored as Susan in my contacts, but for some reason when I send a text or receive one from that contact, it doesn't identfy the sender as Susan but lists her number with a " +1 " before it (the number isn't stored with a +1 in my contacts).
I have a contact on iphone to which are attached several mobile numbers. When this contact sends me an sms I only get his name, how can i see the number he is sending me that sms from? so in simpler words I want to inverse the process and instead of showing me the contact name I want my iphone to show me the phone number of the sms sender. Because oddly enough I haven't found anyone having this query online although I imagine lots of people have contacts with multiple phone numbers attached to them and inevitably sometimes you want to know which number that contact is using to send you an sms from! Btw I have an iphone4 with iOS 5.1 installed.
When I receive a text message, I don't want the name of the sender of the test message to appear on my screen. All I want to see is a small, white number inside of a red circle, attached to my Message icon. I'm sure there is a way to turn off this feature, but I haven't yet been able to figure out how to do it.
When sending messages to one of our iPhones, the wrong name of the sender appears. The phone also does not notify the receiver. This started after we purchased in iPad and attempted sending that phone an iMessage.
I keep receiving messages from a sender, Alice Rewe, on peer-to-peer. I don't know the sender and it sends me with links for some NEWS UPDATES or BREAKING NEWS onww.ipaidabribrenaija.com. How do I stop receiving messages from this unknown source??
