View 3 RepliesI got my Nexus 5 on the 2nd of this month. I'm on Android 4.4.4. Just today, I was out and about and I realized that, although I was going into settings and turning Wi-Fi off, it just kept turning it right back on! (I had been using the Wi-Fi at the mall, then later I went to a friend's house and connected to my friend's Wi-Fi, which did not work.) So, I turned on my data, only for it to turn off after I guess about 30 seconds. I turned it back on, went on WhatsApp, in the middle of replying to a text from my friend it goes off yet again! What the... So, I went into settings and turned data on, and Wi-Fi off. As I watched, the Wi-Fi switched itself back on, and, predictably, even though there were no wireless networks to connect to, my data turned off as well.
This is really inconvenient. What could be causing the problem? I don't think I've downloaded any apps recently, but they do sometimes update. It was working fine on Thursday, but I've had my data off since then. I also booted into Safe Mode, and the problem doesn't seem to persist.
Blackberry curve 9300, OS 6 I cannot turn off LED (red). there is no message of mail notification pending.further I cannot remove blackberry protect.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes turning off the device (as in, going to the Menu icon and turning it off) actually do anything? I read that it doesn't wipe memory or anything (unlike my old, non-BB phone)plus the reload time when I turn it back on seems way too quick for the option to even be an "ON/OFF" function. So what does it do, exactly? Is there still battery drainage? And...is there a way to clean up the memory without doing a battery pull?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI only have my blackberry since April but Today, for no apparent reason, it began to act up. When I turn on my phone, it loads to around 75% and then freezes. I've taken the battery out and replaced it several times. Eash time I do so, it turns itself on (as always) and begins to loads but freezes everytime at the same point in the loading bar.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry has been doing great for a year, but 2 weeks, I would fully charge it all night, and then it would shut off after about 2 hours, even if I didn't use it and I would have to put it in the charger for it to work again. Now, it's shutting off after Fifteen Minutes of using it, and when I put it in the charger and it goes through the whole 3 minute restart, the battery says it's full, and again keeps closing after 15 minutes. I haven't download any new apps or anything.

View 1 Replies View Relatedive 'owned' my blackberry for about 2 months, however i have only had in my possession for about a week as there have been constant problems with it.
originally i sent it in for repair due to the tracker pad having a mind of its own, however now its been sent back again due to the battery. it works for about 2 hours whenever I receive it back from the carrier, but after that it will continue to turn itself off and restart itself.
I'm really sick of sending it back and getting it back with the same problem, as obviously some carriers cannot be bothered to actually fix the problem, and so i was just wondering if anyone had come across the same sort of problem, and has any idea what i should do.
My blackberry doesn't turn on,in the night I switched it off, this morning the only thing that works is the red led that turns off in a few seconds.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had a Curve 8330 in service with Virgin Mobile, for a couple of years. I have just recently switched my cellphone number to a new handset and new service provider. In preparing my Curve 8330 for a new owner (at some point), I opted to use the "Wipe Handset" function, to clean the handset of all my personal information, contacts, etc. During this process, I was advised that the "radio" would be turned off. I thought I was going to be able to manually turn it back on after performing this "wipe", so I wasn't concerned. This would seem (so far) to not work; at least - not the way I was expecting to be able to. Does anyone know how I could at least turn the handset's radio on? While this wouldn't do much good without a service contract attached to the handset, it will at least assure me that the unit is still in working order, and will work properly for a new owner.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a used 8310 from a bidding website, and the problem ive got is the phone is usable as long as not much is being done on it, but when you start using apps like fb, msn, bbm and others(not at once) somehow the phone shuts down itself without any warning, and it cant be turned on unless its plugged to electricity or battery is removed and replaced, only to be shut down in short time after its turned on, for it to be somehow usable for some time more it must be charged for a few. I checked the status option and its got plenty free space(24mb) ive spent countless hours researching for the same problem online, and many say its the OS, but ive downgraded it, then ugraded it, rebooted it, master rebooted it, done everything to it but technically nothing works(after OS upgrade it worked perfectly with apps for around 3 hours). Oh and i forgot to say battery compsuption seems quite high, after its done charging its at 100%, then use msn and fb for around and hour and goes down to 80% couple of shut downs and turn ons after its at 5%. So, anyone has an idea what the problem might be? I dont want to buy a new battery to later find out its the phone that its deffective, and if its deffective anyone had any luck repairing it? the phone works perfectly while plugged in to an outlet or pc, it does not shut itself off at all.
View 7 Replies View Relatedtried soft and hard resets [left the battery out for 10 seconds] when i put the battery in the red LED light comes on i have tried pressing the on button whilst this light is on but no response. I tried leaving it without pressing the button for a few minutes but that did not work either.
I also tried the shf +caps +del [holding them down all at once] but this failed to work aswell.
I just had to have Verizon send me my 3rd one since December cause mine keep shutting themselves off and then won't come back on at all. Then I changed batteries from the 1st phone that was left over and put it in the 2nd worked for a little while and then wouldn't send or receive messages or calls. I took the battery out and rebooted it again and I plugged into the computer and did an update and still nothing that's when all of a suddent it shut itself off and wouldn't come back on which is what the 1st one did. Is anyone else having this kind of trouble? Other than this I love my BB but this is the 1st one I have had and it isn't making a good first impression.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had a Blackberry Curve 9360 for about seven months now and everything was fine for about three months, then all of a sudden it started to switch off everytime I took a photo or used the internet/facebook. I took the phone for repair and it was replaced, as soon as I turned it on and charged it it started to happen again, again I took it for repair and it was replaced again, this is the third replacement I have had in two months and all of them are doing the same thing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently had to buy a used Curve 8530 because my previous one's charging port was broken and it was no longer under warranty. I have had this new used phone for about a week. All of sudden tonight, the screen went to black, the red light came on at the top, and then the hourglass appeared. It then went to a white screen for a milisecond and the phone shut off. When I would take out the battery and put it back in, the red light comes on, the hourglass appears, and then it either goes to the white screen and shuts off or it doesn't do anything (i.e. just goes to a dark screen).
