BB Curve :: Uncaught Exception 9 And Uncaught Exception?
Aug 10, 2011I am quite new to the BB world and am encountering a few problems. I have a BB Curve 8520 which is running OS 5.2. At times when I reboot my handheld it shows Uncaught exception 9 > = 9 or Uncaught exception 7 > = 7. I read a bit about it on the forums and found it may be because the system has an if command but there is no end command which may cause this error. Now I am technically not very sound and want to know what should I do to eradicate this problem!!
Also, how many times should one reboot their phone? I mean should it be daily? I read somewhere on the forums here only that it is good to do it daily if at some point I am not clear enough or asking a lot of questions, however,

Jul 14, 2011After I pull the battery on my Curve 8530 (Verizon, v5.0.0.973), I get an error message (or two) that says:Uncaught exception 6 > = 6 Uncaught exception 4 > = f I click "OK," it goes away.I am not aware of any new apps I've downloaded since the error began.In the forums, I saw someone post about checking the log file, but the directions on how to do that were for a different device. Can I do it on the Curve, and if so, how?

Sep 23, 2011I just got the error uncaught exception: index 4>= 4 today. It pops up in a dialogue box, but I can't click 'ok' or exit the screen. It won't let me access anything and then the screen just turns black like it is going to sleep.I know it's a buggy app, but I can't press any buttons to get to the home screen, or anything like that.I've tried pulling the battery and basically hitting every button possible to try and get it figured out..

Aug 26, 2010Today I got an "uncaught exception error" after I pulled the headset adapter out while listening to music without hitting the pause button first then holstering the phone. It must've happened a couple of times before without the error appearing because a couple of times in the last week when I hit menu I noticed "playing now" was missing, even though I was in the middle of an album. Anyone get this? IDK if I should install the Sprint version over this.

Jul 4, 2011I just had this bb since december, and it was working fine a few days, then it started giving me a message after booting up: Uncaught Exception 3>3 or something like that, I pressed ok the first time it happened so I didn't mind about it. Then a few days ago, my phone fell over my bed, and turned off by itself, I tried pulling the battery out and it wasn't turning on at all at first, then it turned on and the typical booting process: Red led> Blackberry logo on screen and below the grey bar loading, which only loads until like 3/4 of it. This has been happening for like a month.. the keyboard seems to be working. I've tried with another battery. It doesn't connect to Desktop Manager, jl_Commander or BBSAK.. nothing works, I've tried wiping it with jl_commander and it doesn't connect to the device.. I've tried with other computers, I've tried with other cables.

Jun 7, 2011A couple of months ago the What's App application required an update. I updated it and ever since my phone has steadily had more and more issues. First, I kept getting this uncaught error message, shortly thereafter the 2 email accounts (both gmail) that I have linked to the account disappeared. The message icon shows that I have messages, but icons not there (I have tried the show all option). At one point the message icon started exponentially adding the number of messages until it got up to over 86,000. When I reboot the phone it goes back down and then steadily increases again. usually though it's more to 400 - 500 rather then tens of thousands. I have been trying to install updates and do a wipe of the BB so that I can start from scratch, unfortunately the application loader is unable to back up data. The desktop manager is unable to connect to the blackberry and indicates that an upgrade is required. I have tried doing the upgrade both directly from the phone and connected to the desktop manager, but nothing seems to work. If I try to upgrade the software directly from the BB, I get to the start download button and when I click, nothing happens. I have removed all applications except bberry app world and one game that I play, Pixelated Plus. Still nothing.

Apr 10, 2012I get this message when i try adding a contact in my phone book. Seem to have this problem after installing animated avatars vol 2 on my 9300 curve 3G OS 5. Tried deleting the app,removing battery while the phone was still on and even tried upgrading the OS to 6. But of no avail. Teribbly disappointed that BB has such issues with the most basic requirement of adding and editing contacts.

Feb 15, 2012It started with my message folder disappearing, or me deleting it without knowing. I couldnt find it and it ended up on my screen somehow. Now the problem is this message "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException", , and this when I go to the message folder. The message folder is empty and I can send messages, but not recieve them. I see the lille arrow in the corner, meaning im recieving something, but nothing happens... And when i send a text it doesnt show the text as send, the folder is just empty, so it doesnt save draft either.. Ive tried reeboting and changing the theme, nothing works. Should i wipe it? cause i dont think i can reinstall os then, bcause i dont have internet on my bbI read [URL], and guess that I what I am supposed to do? but I do not understand it all. I understand the words, but something like desktop manager and installing the device software, where to find this?! I dont have a USB either, is this really necessary?

Jun 20, 2010I'm running a nextel 8350i version 4.6.1.313 (459) on boost using the workaround posted on this forum and other places (combined3.ipd service books, etc) and have had the same setup for about 6mos with no problems. last night after getting red Xs next to outgoing MMS messages, I did a battery pull. upon startup, I got this error message. Uncaught Exception: Index 18 >= 18
I am currently unable to send/receive MMS messages and there is no MMS option under my message folder or MMS option after bringing up the BB menu when viewing a contact. I have done approx 10 batt pulls, reinstalled the service books, hooked the phone up to desktop manager and checked for updates, with no change. every time the phone is rebooted I still get the same error message. phone calls still work fine, as well ubertwitter and the gmail app. I have instango on the phone as well, along with the ESPN app, opera mini, accel golf scorecard, and quickpull, although none of the above apps have been used in days.
