BB Curve :: Can Move Contacts & Phone Numbers From A Database
Aug 10, 2011
I work for a charity & we want to see if we can move our names & mobile No.s from Access Database &/or Excel Workbook onto the Blackberry Curve 8900 so as to text all of the contacts at once.
The screen on my phone is broken so I can't access any of the information on my phone. I need the phone numbers for work and its very important that I can get them back. The lady at the phone store wasn't able to retrieve the numbers, but told me to get on here and it would work if I hook a cord up to the phone. I never updated my account or had an email account associated with my phone and updates on this site. How can I get the numbers back?
I've synchronized Contacts from my PC and all appears OK except for when I select a particular contact with multiple phone numbers... I only see the first one? How would I dial someone at one of the "secondary" numbers? Curve 9330 w/OS v6.
I only had my blackberry on Friday through Vodafone.First time I connected to pc it said I needed to upgrade software, so I did.Is it right that I cannot separate emails, sms messages and call log as they all go into the same place? Also I cannot save phone numbers from people who text me into contacts?
I am running Maps 3.03 on an E71. While this version provides free turn-by-turn navigation, which is great, I find that providing the destination address is much less convenient than it was in the previous, non-free version. Before, you'd enter a city from a menu and having done that, you got a menu of valid streets within that city and so on. Now you just get a single text-input box into which you have to type the address (and deal with the system's invariably wrong attempts to complete things).
This step backward provides an additional incentive to want to be able to choose the destination address by indicating an entry in your contacts database. Navigate me to THIS restaurant, or the home address of THIS person, etc. There appears to be no way to do this, unless I'm missing something. And, inexplicably, there also appears to be no way to copy-paste an address from the contacts app to the Maps app. I've attempted to check the documentation, which in Nokia E71 tradition, is useless.
If I'm missing something here, I'd appreciate being enlightened by someone. If I'm right about this, this is another example of why Nokia's market share in the US is miniscule and why their share worldwide is dropping. Smartphones cram a lot of capability into a very small package, which places a huge premium on user-interface design. This is a major factor, perhaps THE major factor, in the iPhone's success, despite the fact that it's not so great for making calls (unlike Nokia phones, which excel in that department).
i want to copy my phone numbers from sim to phone.contacts-more-import contacts-sim card.....and when i push import all it says to me contacts partially imported.what to do
I am wondering how do you make all the numbers associated with a contact copy over to the phone? For example, aunt c's numbers are 954... and 305... on the sim card but when I copy all contacts only the 954 number is copied.
I am trying to move V-CARDS from my PC to my phone? seems every logical way of doing it, it wont! im not going to sit here and move 200 odd numbers 1 by 1 over bluetooth. i open the phone though my PC and the only folders there are.. Documents, Pictures, Music, Ringtones, Video. where are the internal folders?
I have read about duplicating contacts, but that is not my main problem. My problem is that instead of one phone number for any given contact, there may be up to 30 of the same phone number! If there is a cell and home, both will be duplicated. What a pain! I do use mobileme but have not started on the cloud yet. Any ideas how this can happen? I showed them my iphone 4 (IOS 5.1.1) at the Verizon store and the rep said she never saw anything like that before. I live two hours from the nearest apple store.
I had a problem with nokia E7,yesterday I just bought a nokia E7,but when it will move contacts from SIM to phone memory,I have a problem, phonememory is not readable and there is information not found in phone memory is not readable
Trying to move my Contacts from my old phone (Samsung Fascinate) to my new iPhone 4S. Am on Verizon. The SIM Cards are different, and they didn't get downlaoded successfully to iCloud. Have successfully downloaded other Contacts (from work), but not personal ones from my old phone. Successfully downloaded to my PC from SIM card...but not successful exporting to iPhone.I know it's simple...but nothing working.
I have a new iphone 5S to replace my iphone 4. Due to a long story I can't back up my contacts from icloud or iTunes. Is there a way that I can back up the contacts on my Samsung flip phone to the 5S?
When in Greek Display language (not in English) and in Contacts, Phone fields, entering of an '0' number, I get displayed a highlighted 'W' instead. This of course can be stressfully corrected via a copy and pasting an '0'char else use my phone in English Display Language.
Did anyone else, in any other than Greek Display Language have that same problem?
My phone is: BB Torch 9860, OS 7.1 bundle 2061 but I had that same issue with 1149 (as bought)
I have a non-rooted, Galaxy S5 on AT&T which forwards any phone number not in my contacts to voicemail after one short ring sound. I have Android lollipop version 5.0 but this problems has been happening for months even under Kit Kat version 4.4.4 and 4.4.2.
I checked call rejection, interruptions, blocking, and cannot find the root cause or remediation. I am also using tasker but I cannot find anything enabled there either. AT&T insists they are not doing anything on their end.
My wife and I own iPhone 4S phones and will be traveling with them to England for the first time this coming holiday season. We have Verizon service with international calling enabled, and intend to use Verizon's international calling plan for the period while we are to be traveling (no swapping for European telco SIM cards). We each have extensive Contacts lists in our phones, and both are synced to our Address Books on our home iMacs. We have our US contacts memorized in the standard area code + number format, and similarly we have our Brit friends' cell and home phone numbers memorized in the "011" (US exit code) "44" (England country code) + number format. With that we can of course call US numbers as normal and the Brits just fine while here in the US. But when we are overseas I suspect we would need a different number sequence to connect with family back here in the US if needed, and we certainly couldn't call the English phone numbers from within England using the 011-44 prefix before their numbers. Is there anyway to prepare for that situation short of re-entering a bunch of phone numbers for while we are away, and then changing it all back again when we return a few weeks later? How do people who travel overseas frequently, say on business, handle this? Multiple numbers in different formats for each Contact?
Is there any way of getting the actual phone numbers to show when in the "Contacts" screen instead of just the contacts name. If I want to look for a phone number, it means that I have got to click on each contact name to bring up the next screen with the phone number etc on it and then click back to the contacts screen and keep doing it all through the list of contacts.
With my old HTC Desire it used to show both right at the start.
Can't see my contacts phone numbers on the Bluetooth connection to my car now I have updated the Andriod to 2.1. I could see them before on Andriod 1.6.
I own a business and having my contacts phone numbers is an abosolute necessity for me.I've noticed that after importing all my contacts from my SD card (after having setup the phone and creating a MotoBlur account, adding facebook, and a couple of email accounts) that the contacts whom had a Facebook profile, it REMOVED the phone numbers that were previously attached to the contact file.Is there a way to keep the phone from doing this? It did this to each contact that had a facebook profile that didn't have their phone number on their facebook profile.I've tried to go in and edit the contact but it tells me that you can't edit a facebook profile / contact.
i have a problem that i have bought blackberry 8520.i want to switch my contacts from my old mobile samsung star s5230 to blackberry 8520.i have shifted my contacts from samsung to my laptop but i am unable to transfer from laptop to blackberry.i have tried to send some contacts to blackberry from laptop but blackberry doesnot show it.please let me know how can i do it.i have also downloaded blackberry desktop software but i dont know how to shift contacts from laptop to blackberry.
Two of my family members have nearly identical phone numbers. This seems to confuse my N900 to no end - at times, when person A calls, it gets put into the call log as person B, and so on. Very annoying when you miss a call from either one: You can never be sure which one called you. Any ideas how to fix this / will it be fixed in the next update?
