View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my first BlackBerry (Curve 3G 9300) on Friday and tried to setup a personal email account on the phone via the setup wizard earlier today. The phone said that an update to 6.11...... was needed in order to do this. I let it update, now the phone is just hanging after starting up. If I do a start up after removing the battery it comes up with a black screen with the BlackBerry logo and a progress bar below it. The progress bar moves along until the end, this takes around a minute. It then shows something like a little clock over the logo for about a second. Once this disappears the phone says with the logo and the completed progress bar - and just hangs there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a bit of a novice when it comes to Blackberrys so can someone please help me! I bought a second hand unlocked phone (8900 Curve) on the Orange network off a friend. They have already setup an email address (hotmail) on the phone - how do I delete it and change it to mine? Also, I'm on Pay As You Go (Orange network)... can I still use and download apps from app world? What limitations are there for Pay As You Go? And how do I buy an internet plan for Pay As You go - is there like a £5 a month thing I can buy from Orange? Quite a few questions there.

Should I be entering my Blackberry ID here or something else?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a consultant and have a client that has a BB Curve. He has been using a certain provider inet for his email. He has now changed to a different provider (for technical reasons). I have tried to setup his new email account for the new provider - I also use a BB curves and have performed this operation for over 50 of my clients. However in this scenario, the Curve keeps asking for his account id and password. We have tried to enter it and it says that the Username cannot be blank. If we exit and re-enter the setup tool, and then enter the same info again, it says that the username and/or password is incorrect. His credentials have never - ever changed.
We cannot get his password (or acct info) sent to him by BB (RIM), because he no longer has the email address of record. Of course I tried entering a different email address to send it to, but of course it doesn't get to his phone as there is no eamil address setup (except his old one). The provider here in town (TELUS) has been quite useless in helping and have been quite specific that we need to talk to RIM, well of course this seems to be the only avenue available. Can someone direct us to the appropriate area or resource in order to proceed with setting up his new email account.
just received my new BB curve 8520 and have tried to link my bt internet email account to it, but im not having any joy. From the main menu i select the setup icon i then select the setup wizard (only other options on that screen are wifi, blutooth and orange plus icons)i then select email setup from the list and im greeted by only 1 option:-"I want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server" Im not given any option to "create or add an email address" as per my instruction booklet.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup email accounts on my phone. I can get as far as the additional settings page where you input email server and username. Having completed this I click on next but instead if getting a finish icon the software goes back to the page for adding a new account. If I then click on set up a new email account the screen goes blank apart from the word 'login' at top of page. I have managed to set up one email account, but this did not need the additional settings.Phone is curve 8900.On a related matter, is there way of temporarily suspending the email on phone with out actually deleting the account.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently gone through a new update and now I cannot access my email accounts to change my passwords. I am required to change my passwords every 90 days so I am familiar with the process and since the update I ran on Friday May 27th, I can go to "setup", and select "Email Accounts", and then it just tells me that "Updates are ready for your device." I am able to select either "yes" or "no", but either option takes me back to the "setup" menu. Is there a way I can uninstall the most recent update, or is there a way to fix this issue?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to set up my email accounts. As I understand from the online manuals you can setup an Internet Mail Account (which is what I want) or an Enterprise Account (i don't have)When I go to email setup I get the title to the screen of 'Enterprise Activation' and options to enter my email account and 'activation password'. These seem to sugget it's trying to setup a Enterprise Account, when in fact I want an internet account.I can't see any options to change this at all? Any clue as to setting up an internet based account. I have some pretty standard ones (yahoo, hotmail), as well as a less standard one for my business.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my curve for over a year now on my Orange contract. I have just been given a new Sim Card by my company. This Sim card is with Vodafone. I got my phone unlocked and the new Sim card is working fine for everything but emails. There isnt even an option to set-up the email accounts!!
I contacted Vodafone and they said that the phone had already been registered with an email server. Which it has beacause i was using it with my other Orange contract. All they could suggest was buying a new handset!! But surely that means if anyone sells their blackberry handset, the new owner wont be able to use email, this cant be right.
