BB Curve :: Camera Sound When NOT Using Phone?
Jul 1, 2011
My husband's Blackberry 9330 has been making what sounds like a camera shutter sound randomly at all hours of the day and night. It doesn't matter if you are holding the phone, have it laying on a shelf, carrying it in your pocket or even have the phone sounds muted. Have gone through all the sound effects and the one we are hearing isn't even listed and it is a different sound then when you take a picture with the phone's camera.

how I can put the sound of my camera off? Everytime I want to take a picture my blackberry makes noise. With that sound I can't make subtile pictures.

There is a sound like a "chirp"of a bird during capturing images, the moment the shutter closes. This sound is apart from the "click"sound. And the chirp sounds again after capturing during reopening of the camera after capture.
I am thinking this will be a future squeak sound. but nothing affects the focusing on video and on photos.

So just got nexus 5 for my wife and wanted to know how do you turn off the camera sound?
I've read everything from turning ringer volume down to rooting the device.
I can't believe there isn't a way without doing the above.

Can the sound be changed or switch off when taking a photo with the Curve 8520?
I've looked through the options and profiles but cannot find the means to do it.

I'm not sure if this happened after my upgrade to .592, but when I hang up after a call or close the camera, I hear the country song "Your Man". It is so weird. I have my profile as Vibrate, event sounds off, even turned it to silent, it still plays.

My BB 8520 curve plays a sound when I exit from the camera. It was a song I mmsed to a friend on her birthday, I have deleted the voice note and the mms, but each time I exit from the camera: "Happy birthday......" Its really annoying. Have this happened to anyone else? It doesn't matter which profile is activated and I couldn't find anything in the sound settings about the camera.... Help please! If I hear that song one more time I might not have a BB anymore.

Is it possible? I own a 8520, I've asked other 8520 owners and they have no idea, I also searched around and found nothing. Anyone know if it's possible? Or do I need some kind of app...By camera sound I mean the "click" sound it makes when you take a photo.

Well, I've been running 5.0 OS's for months, and I'm not sure exactly when this problem happened, but my video camera stopped recording sound. Speaker phone and the voice notes recorder work fine.
I wiped the phone, formatted the SD card, and went back to the 4.7.1.65 os.I've still got no sound. Is there actually a different mic for the video camera than the speaker phone and the voice notes recorder?I've pulled the files onto my computer to verify that there is absolutely no sound.

for some new Sony Ericsson phones (I know the W995 has this problem for sure) there is no option to turn off the camera sound or the focus sound, even when silent mode is on. Here I am going to guide you through a solution to overcome this. What we are going to do is replace the sound files for the camera sound and the focus sound with a sound which is silent, using A2uploader.
1. Download this .rar file I have uploaded with 3 sound files, namely camerafocus.3gp, camerashutter2.3gp and camerashutter2_rer.3gp
2. Currently you can choose the following sounds
1. Camera shutter
2. Bear can opening
3.Tennis ball
4. Laser
The files in the .rar have been created to replace the Beer can opening sound, however if you want to keep this one, then change the number on the end e.g to replace the Laser sound the two files would be camerashutter4.3gp and camerashutter4_rer.3gp Although please note to replace the Camera shutter sound the number on the end is not 1, but is no number at all e.g. camerashutter.3gp and camerashutter_rer.3gp3.Now you connect your phone to A2uploader (see Tutorial on main website for how to do this) and go to tpa/presets/system/sound and drop all 3 files into this folder. If you want to keep the sound you're replacing right click on it and click 'read' this will create a folder ph_out with this file in it.4.Shut down A2uploader, switch on phone and bobs your uncle! You can also add other sounds, I created a Gavin and Stacey one here but I will happily accept requests for others.Hope this helps! This is my first post on the forums, but I do think I'm a fairly knowledgable BB user. Had 3 BBs over the course of a few years, so I can usually rectify small problems as they arise. However I've recently come across something that I am not sure how to solve, or maybe it is not fixable- I do not know.Basically my phone has been making a constant heartbeat sound when I make or receive calls. Doesn't matter if it is on speakerphone, or the normal phone. Its also not just a slightly annoying noise in the background, it cuts off the person on the other end and breaks up their speech. Essentially kills any phone conversation because I cannot understand the other person. I am not sure if the other person can hear me or not. This has been going on for about 3 days now, and is very irritating.I would like to find a way to fix it rather than get a new one. My old pearl's trackball died, so I had to get a new phone, which led me to the 8900. The keyboard on that quit working, so I got a new 8900, which was luckily just under the one year warranty. Now this one is having this problem, but its just a few weeks outside the stupid 3 month warranty on replacements. I'm fed up with ATT and BB because of these device failures, and also because ATT never provided me with my $100 rebate, even after complaining to corporate. It's just a situation where I feel robbed in a way, and just want to find a way to get my current phone to work thru the rest of my contract so I can upgrade to a better device.Any suggestions of how to rid myself of the heartbeat noise? I'd really appreciate it.

Is there a reason for that? Like are we supposed to enjoy the fact that it doesn't have a flash? Is the camera resolution just that good? Or what?
PS: I haven't purchased one. I was thinking about it, 'til I found out it doesn't have a flash...

Whenever I take a photo and then either exit it (the camera) or tap onto the photo I have just taken, the camera makes this small click sound. It's quite annoying actually. I was wondering whether it's just my Ray or whether it's a norm?

since updating to Sense 6 / Android 4.4.2 my shutter sound is just a short "click" which is easy to miss, is there any way of changing the shutter sound back to a more normal sound? The sound in the Google camera app is much closer to what it was like pre-update.

By default, the HTC One M8 has this slight tick sound when taking photos on the stock camera app, but I'm wondering if it's possible to change that sound to something of my own?
My phone is rooted so I can access to some of the system files if there's a need to replace, but I don't know exactly which one or if it's even safe to do so.

Please is somewhere available a silent camera for Nokia 6220 Classic? This 5 mb camera is great but it makes so horrible noise that it is impossible to take great photos while e.g. my puppy starts to follow that sound and stops playing! It is no way to make this camera silent in this phone, but I know that a good program download would solve this problem. Where might I download one?
