I know this is not a major problem, however, it is one that has totally confused me. When someone sends me a text I have always had the option of either clearing the chat or deleting the chat. After the most recent update using my Blackberry desktop the deleting the chat option is no longer listed. What could have possibly happened?

I'm considering getting a Blackberry with my next phone update (October) on Sprint, and after looking at my options the 8530 seemed like the best option. However, now with the news of OS6 coming out as well as the Curve 3G, will the 8530 even be available in October? I am concerned that, like on my Ipod touch, some apps may not work with OS5 anymore as the new system update comes around. Is this a valid concern?I love what the 8530 offers and the price but will it be obsolete right after I pick it up?

But when i check my email for yahoo on my laptop, it still shows up on my BB and doesnt delete unless I personally delete it. Is there an option that when i check my email from my laptop that it will delete on my BB??

I changed the style of my SMS messaging from bubbles to stripes, and now it won't change back. I can go into the options, and change it and save the changes, but it stays the same. It will even say that it's set to bubbles, but it doesn't change the look of it. I know it's not a huge deal, but it bothers me, and I was wondering if it's a user error, or something is up with my Blackberry.

On my old Blackberry Pearl I was allowed to setup Gmail in the same page. What do I need to do to get Gmail setup and running?I was told that it may take a few hours for the data stuff to kick in from Verizon. Does that have anything to do with not being able to set up Gmail? I do have a Blackberry data plan.

I plugged it in to my computer to put music on and i believe i updated the phone. my screen lock button is gone. no option. it has dissapeared.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone the other day with the v5.0.0.734 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?
I cannot delete themes from my BlackBerry Curve 8520 (T-Mobile). I have done extensive research on the issue, and have tried many of the methods listed within this forum. However, all have failed.

I have tried removing them through Options > Advanced Options > Applications, however there are no themes listed within the application list. Here are screenshots of my application list:

I have also tried to delete the extra themes using BlackBerry Theme Studio (this is actually the source of the extraneous themes). After previewing several themes on my device, the program's internal 'Manage Themes On BlackBerry...' feature has failed to delete any of them. Screenshot below:

Prior to using BlackBerry Desktop Software Version 6, I tried Version 5, but the themes still did not show within the application list.
I have tried numerous battery pulls, restarts, software updates, etc. and nothing has worked!
How I can delete a virus called "maetokx.exe" from my mobile? I have tried with the latest version of AVG. The virus causes my blackberry folder to be hidden and I can't retrieve my files without exploring the folders.

I've upgraded from my original OS to 5.0.0.411 (i think) at the start of the year with no problems. Two days ago I attempted the upgrade to .681 which was fine, but I'm not keen on the update as the UMA isn't working properly, so I want to downgrade.
So last night I managed to get back to the original OS 4.? (I was having probs with a straight forward downgrade to another OS5) and tried to upgrade to the Vodafone Italy (I'm on Orange UK) but it wasn't being recognised with the Desktop Blackberry software (vendor file was deleted), although when I went into the upgrade part on the app loader, it did appear there, but with an asterisk saying I had to be registered with Blackberry to be eligible for the upgrade (or something like that). I attempted the upgrade but the software wouldn't allow it.
I removed that software and tried with the Wind release, but again the desk top software didn't recognise it.I tried the .681 release again and the upgrade worked fine
I would really like to go back to a stable OS where the UMA works. Any ideas how to do it with the Vodafone Italy release? Or am I being blocked somehow as I'm registered to Orange UK? If so does anyone have a link to download another earlier release that is stable and not carrier associated?
Is there going to be an update for the 6.0 os for the curve 8530?

I have tried the desktop software about a million times, it keeps saying no updates available. I've tried using the app loader. Nothing. I've tried downloading the specific 5.0 software for AT&T BB Curve 8520. App loader says it is incompatible with the device.
