I just got a blackberry curve 8530 today and I love the phone.However, as I am charging the phone right now, there is no indicator light for charging.You know, when phone is charging a light blinks red and once its completed its green.My blackberry is not doing anything.It is charging but no indicator light or anything.Is this right?

-it appears that BB is draining the battery from a full charge battery after unplugging and powering on....w/out any use of unit.
-the red LED light comes on after plugging via a/c charge. After about 10 seconds, the LED light goes out...and indication that it's not charging.
-Battery is a new battery, and is completely dead.
-overall, it appears that unit starts a charge, then just stop charging.

I was charging my new BlackBerry Curve 8530 just about now and I was checking if it was charging or not because it only had the blinker, blinking orange and nothing else. Because it's been charging for an hour or so.
I accidently turn the BlackBerry on so I quickly turn it off to let it continue charging. But when I turn it off, the orange blink wasn't blinking anymore so I unplug the charger and plug it back in quickly.
My question is: will this affect the battery length when I actually use the phone because I unplugged it that first charge?
I plugged my bb into the wall and for a little bit it was charging fine but then the symbol disappeared. I unplugged and plugged back in which made the clock pop up so I know it connected right. But its still not charging. I turned the charging indicator led on with berrybuzz and the light didn't turn on when I plugged it in.
Meterberry says the temp is 111 degrees. I don't know what the 'normal' ranges are. I'm still under my 30day warranty so do I take it back? Is anyone else having this problem? Its done this before and it eventually charges but something is going on....
I have updated my c6-00 phone software to 40.0.021. After the update, white charging indicator light has stopped working (around the charger port on phone). Rest of charging process is working fine.

I realize that light was left off this phone and moved to the caps lock key. But wondering if there was a way of turning in the indicator light when the phone is charging like when i get a notification that i have a text message. My Wifes incredible 2 indiciator light turns red when it is charging and i beleive turns white when it is finished. Its just a lot easier for me to look at my phone and see it is charging vs having to unlock my phone to see if it is charging or see it on the lock screen. Sometimes my charges becomes unplugged and i was always quick to know with the droid 2 that it had happend. vs waking up the next morning with my droid 4 thinking it was charging and nothing all along. Is there a feature i'm missing or is it possible to have this in an upcoming update?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEarlier today I received a call from a number that was supposed to be blocked in my Mr Number Callblock app, but came through anyways. Ever since, my light is blinking like there is something I need to check, but I have gone in and been through every app and even the hidden folders and can not find any notifications. I have done a hard reset. I am on 5.0 currently and there are no icons at the top of the screen or anything to show me what I need to check to turn the light off.

While the phone is off, When i plug in the charger the "charging battery" indicator and the "Red light" on joystick appear, but within few milliseconds the display goes off (red light remains on) and the charging process restarts. This happens continuously until I unplug the charger. I will get the red X that messages aren't sent, then "retries exceeded", "mobile equipment status failed", . I also get odd error messages."SMS error 7, message id 32 general problems".I have no idea, and neither did google about that error message.

1. I have two e-mail accounts set up on my phone. One the one, the red * alert symbol always shows up on that email account's folder, but for the other one the red * alert symbol for new messages shows up on the separate "messages" folder. how do i fix this?
2. I keep randomly receving the message alert symbol (the red *) on my SMS folder, but I click it and i don't have any new messages and all of my messages are read... what's the deal here?
I just dowloaded and installed desktop software 5.13 and am now not getting any email updates on my curve.I did change me email password in Hotmail, but now cannot reconfigure either of Outlook and my device to allow for continued delivery to my device.I hope someone here can point me in the right direction. View 7 Replies View RelatedSo i bought a curve 8530.I had a curve 8330 until i dropped it into the toilet. anyhow so i plugged my new phone that i bought yesterday into my NETBOOK vis the USB cord and it turned my phone off... and it had the red LED on and the phone would NOT turn on until i unplugged it.So i tried it on my desktop computer and VOILA! Worked but not on my netbook (I need it to work on my netbook for tethering)

When she takes photos and saves them, they do not show up there. We both have the same store pictures and folder settings. Interestingly, I pulled her battery yesterday and all the photos started showing up again. But, today she is having problems saving pictures and seeing them in the media folder.

It was kinda weird because even after turning the phone off it was still doing it. I decided to take the battery out and put it back in and see if it was going to still do it. After doing that, it didn't do it no more but im still wondering what it was that caused it. When i was messing with the phone before it started doing it i was playing music and then stopped it. The battery was on half. Could someone please tell me what caused this. I just got the phone from sprint and i really don't want to take it back.

I just upgraded from the 8330 Curve, to this one and so far I am highly disappointed!My friend who has an iPhone said BB is trying to be more like it. From the layout of the texts to the options. It's frustrating! If I wanted an iPhone, I would have bought one...I like the BB for the features it has not for being like the iPhone.Sorry, I got a bit rant-y but I cannot believe this new version doesn't have a flash. Hope I'm overlooking something!
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen I plugged in my blackberry to the wall charger to charge, the indicator light will light up red for a few seconds then shut off, then it will light up again then shut off, keeps doing this, does this mean it is charging? I left it charging over night and tried to turn it on in the morning but it was still completely dead. Sometimes the charger has problems making a connection, and usually I can see when that is happening from the lightening bolt sign when the phone is on So I'm wondering if it was just because it wasn't making a connection before that it didn't charge and if the red light on and off indicates that it is charging or not?
