BB Curve 83xx :: Configuration Change Default Browser
Aug 25, 2010
I've gone into the browser > options > configuration and to change the default browser, I only get Google, Yahoo, and 2 others (which I don't care about).
I want to:
1) change the default to Google.CA - not .com (everything is returning US results even though I am located in southwestern ontario - NOT near the border)OR
2) change it to the google mobile local.
Also... using Rogers I can't seem to change the default "home" page from Rogers, so I never use the "home" page LOL. Any ideas on how I can do that? (I have the curve 8310)

Is there any way to change the default web browser in OS6? I recently installed Opera Mini and like it much better than the stock OS6 browser, but there doesn't appear to be any way to change the default. When I click on links in the Twitter app for example, I want to view them in Opera, not the BB browser.

I changed the Default applications | Browsing internet setting from Web to Opera Mini. This does not seem to affect anything. Unless I actually start Opera Mobile, any application that has a URL link will start the default N97 browser instead of Opera Mobile.
Is there something else I need to do in order to change the default browser on the N97?

Might anyone know why, when I'm in my browser and I hit menu, the option 'Go To' is sometimes not there? Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't . . What's the deal? It isn't there now for example, so I can only go to pages that are either in my history or my bookmarks. Anyone know why, or have this problem also?

I have read through several threads to try and find out how to completely remove useless applications and icons on my BlackBerry Curve 8330. Many people attempting to be helpful have posted comments about hiding icons (either directly or putting them in folders). Other people have suggested clicking on "Options" and then "Advanced Options" and then "Applications" and then option "Delete." The problem is that many icons on the desktop are really just bookmarks for the BlackBerry browser so they cannot be deleted by this process (as they are not applications).
I want to TOTALLY REMOVE the icons to useless crap like Yahoo Messenger, MySpace, ICQ, AOL Messenger, etc. Forgive my being blunt, but I use my phone for business and not to mess around with goofy little apps. Does anyone know how to actually REMOVE unneeded bookmark icons from the Blackberry Curve desktop?

Me and two others recently got new bold 9700 phones through work. For some reason my phone doesn't have maps or application center in the homescreen. The phone also doesn't allow me to download the AppWorld through the phone browser.I know maps and application center are installed because they are in the Options->Applications list. I also installed the AppWorld through connecting the phone to my computer. Again AppWorld doesn't show up on the homescreen but does in the applications list.
The only difference (after having a quick look) between my phone and their phones is their 'default browser configuration' is set to 'internet browser', mine only has the option of 'Vodafone Live' or 'Hotspot browser'I tried putting one of their sim cards in my phone, and I still didn't have the applications in the homescreen. All three of us have plugged our phones into the computer and updated the phones - think in the same way.
Carrier: Vodafone
Model info and OS version: Bold 9700 v5.0.0.593 (Platform 5.1.0.147)

I am trying to figure out a way to force the camera to store pictures on the SD card instead of on the internal memory. I have read previous forum posts and I don't have the options that it is asking for. It says to BB -> Options -> Store Pictures -> change to card, but I don't have the options to Store Pictures. I am using version 4.5.0.186 as per service provider. Can someone please help me.
