My girlfriend is running a curve 8310 for att with 4.5 and bbm 5.0. She just got an alert with a smile face that she says is normally for bbm. However there are no new updates. She deleted all messages and chats and even did a battery pull. I checked it out and can't find anything.
View 10 RepliesI'm yet to have this phone delivered but I'm looking forward to it. I was thrille dto hear that Nokia do updates which can also enhance this phone's cameras which is really cool. My question is if Nokia could make an update that gives the phone Face Detection, Smile Detection, and all those other modern camera features? It seems unlikely to me but I was just wondering if they could do this, and if they, can they do it soon.

View 4 Replies View RelatedGreetings, blackberry 8310: some keys are not working, now normally I would think it's because it has gone through some rough punishment, but odd enough, sometimes they work. The Keys i'm talking about are the Z-C-N-M-SPACE-RIGHT SHIFT-LOWER VOLUME keys, but, when I press Z like 10 times it starts to work, so does the C, and then the N and M and SPACE, and what's even weirder is that when the keys do work, they work without any problem whatsoever, I think it's a software problem or something or an OS problem but I'm not an engineer, so I dont know.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi have a 8310 curve and it's not working correctly.Everything on the phone works except the audio, both the speaker and mic, work intermittently. It's kind of hard to explain but the audio sounds very choppy and it is difficult to hear anything. I've tried a system wipe on the phone and that still didn't do anything.

The phone works but several Blackberry features are missing, including the ability to set up email internet and outlook email accounts.Also, the broadband connection still says "edge" in lowercaps, which I have heard is ATT specific.Can I use this phone on a T Mobil network? ok so i found a usb network adapter that would fit my blackberry i knoe that my blackberry dosnt suport wireless internet but is there any way i could use the network adapter to acess the internet. or is it possible to creat a bluetooth modem on my computer and acess the internet via bluetooth on my phone?

When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".

Every time I hear it I search my running apps to see what it seems to be notifying me of and can't find the source of the sound. I even did a battery pull.The only thing I can think of, was I had a request, accidently hit ignore and saw the person that sent me that request and i requested them back. Thought I cleared it when I added the person but it is still there.So does anyone have any ideas how to clear this?

I want to send someone a bbm and in that message I plan to be talking about the video game Counter Strike: Source. The short form for this game is CS. BBM always makes the the emoticon (smiley) face with the S shaped mouth.I feel there should be a way to state that I do not wish that the recipient of this message view my message with the emoticon, but rather they view the raw ascii code.I can not cite another example off the top of my head, but surely they exist and I am not alone.To be clear. I do not wish to simply dissable the emoticons on my own phone, but rather wish there was a way to force the recipient of my bbm message to not view a specified emoticon.

It comes on, shows the hourglass image and in less that few seconds, the screen goes black, the red led light comes on and starts booting all over. This cycle continued until the battery gets fully drained.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought a used 8310 from a bidding website, and the problem ive got is the phone is usable as long as not much is being done on it, but when you start using apps like fb, msn, bbm and others(not at once) somehow the phone shuts down itself without any warning, and it cant be turned on unless its plugged to electricity or battery is removed and replaced, only to be shut down in short time after its turned on, for it to be somehow usable for some time more it must be charged for a few. I checked the status option and its got plenty free space(24mb) ive spent countless hours researching for the same problem online, and many say its the OS, but ive downgraded it, then ugraded it, rebooted it, master rebooted it, done everything to it but technically nothing works(after OS upgrade it worked perfectly with apps for around 3 hours). Oh and i forgot to say battery compsuption seems quite high, after its done charging its at 100%, then use msn and fb for around and hour and goes down to 80% couple of shut downs and turn ons after its at 5%. So, anyone has an idea what the problem might be? I dont want to buy a new battery to later find out its the phone that its deffective, and if its deffective anyone had any luck repairing it? the phone works perfectly while plugged in to an outlet or pc, it does not shut itself off at all.
