BB Bold :: Getting A Message "Unauthorized Sim Card" On 9700?
Jul 4, 2012
I am getting a message "Unauthorized Sim Card" on my phone BB 9700. I have tried to choose different networks and restart my phone, but the problem still is. I cannot check the card on a different mobile phone.
I have been getting an "unauthorized charger" message lately when attempting to charge my phone. I'm using the charger that came with the phone. This is the second time I've encountered this issue with the Entice W766 and am wondering just how common the problem is. The first time I encountered the problem was a few months after I bought the phone. My phone went from holding a charge for 3 or 4 days to holding a charge for less than 24 hours. Verizon was able to reproduce the message in their store and, in the end, I ended up with a replacement phone. Fast forward to today, over a year later, and I'm having the same problem all over again... unauthorized charger... phone not holding a charge after most charges. I seem to get a good charge about one out of five tries. It's all Motorola branded gear.Better yet, is there a fix for it that doesn't involve going to the Verizon store and begging for a new phone?
I have tried removing the contact (from both my and the remote contact's Skype), and I've readded from my N900 and asked for authorization, and its been accepted, but I still get the error message when I try and IM.
When the remote contact IMs me the message never turns up, but they don't get an error message.
I've also tried it the other way around, where we delete the contacts on each other's Skype, and then the remote contact has asked for authorization, and I've accepted on the N900 - but still the same message.
The remote user us on Windows 7, using Skype 4.2.0.169. It has worked previously, but all of a sudden, it stopped for no obvious reason. This is happening with two of my contacts, who are in two different locations on different versions of Windows. Oddly, Skype voice calls work okay!
I have a BB Bold 2 (9700). The Media Card slot wont lock down the card and keeps springing it out. If i keep the card pressed down it works but wont lock down.
I recently installed OS 5.0.0.442 which was posted on the very first thread of the forum. I haven't had any issues with it until recently.
When I try a soft reset, I get the red indicator light as usual, but instead of resetting, I get a message on my screen that says something along the lines of "Media card installed. All media will be copied onto the device." After this dialog box goes away, the device does NOT reset. Any ideas on why the soft reset no longer works?
BOLD 9700, T-Mobile. I have current OS. I am receiving the above message when I try to reply to an email. Yesterday---I didn't have this problem. I go to email set up & my email addresses are there. When I am in message options, and choose Email Settings--- there isn't ANYTHING there.
I have checked thru all the folders and saved messages folders and I can't find the message anywhere. When I get a new email or SMS/MMS text messages it says I have the number plus 1, but I can't find the message or get rid of the icon. I have looked in all the Instant messaging folders and still can't find the message.
I've tried signing into Facebook via my new 9700 and am getting the following error message:Error encountered during XML parse: End tag does not match start tag 'head'.Has anybody else had this message? How do I get around it so I can access my Facebook account?
I cannot save my contacts to SIM card. From the Contacts List I press a contact, then Menu, then there is a Copy to SIM Phone Book and when I press Enter or the trackpad, nothing happens. I go to my SIM Phone Book and see that it has not been saved. Any ideas on how I can save to SIM card? I am running 5.0.0.442.
I just bought a 9700 a few hours ago did the back up, blahh blahh. So then lastly I went to switch my media card and the 2gb that the bold came with isn't coming out. Its like stuck on something. I spent almost 30 minutes trying to get it out!
I just bought an unlocked BB 9700 a couple of weeks ago and brought it to Costa Rica, it was working like a charm, until last night. The phone died (no charge) and when plugged back in, it started rebooting itself. I didn't notice this until this morning (it rebooted all night long) and now I am able to use the phone without the SIM card in, but as soon as i put the sim in, the phone goes on an endlees reboot.
I bought a great at&t 9700 today which i tested before i paid for. I got home and noticed the sim card was tough to get in and i forced it. Doing this broke a contact point off in the sim socket giving initialization failed message. I took the phone apart trying to come up with a fix of my own...... no success
-what are my options? i cannot find the main board and the socket is integrated unlike other blackberry models.
I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have an unread message indicator (little yellow envelope +3) on my screen, but I don't have any unread messages in my list.
So far, I've tried the following:
1. Typed "u" to search for unread messages and it tells me that I have no unread messages.
2. I went into my email and selected "mark prior unopened" and still nothing.
3. I've tried to restart the phone the phone. When I do, I end up with even more unread messages that I have to select -- over and over again! I can always get it back down to 3, but no fewer.
4. The date and time on my phone appears to be correct.
I've tried and tried to solve this - if anyone can help then that would be fab.On my BB Bold 9700 I've got too many message icons.I've got one for my work email - useful...One for my SMS and MMS - useful. One for my personal email - useful. And one stupid one that wants to group all the messages into one place and mix then up and notify me (even though the other ones already notify me) etc etc.
I know there has been a ton of posts about this subject and I have wrote one myself just a few days ago and I got my **** chewed out for even mentioning it. Well I guess the Android platform has just about got that problem licked. They are just around the corner from letting this jewel out. The people from Google said it may be just a "little" slower but will be very usable. The response I received from the forum was that the 9700 had plenty of storage for as many apps as you needed and still operate fast. Agreed but what will happen with the new OS and this great browser around the corner arrives. Many of the phones won't be able to use the new OS because of memory problems so that tells me that it may slow down the 9700 if too many apps are loaded. That is where the ability to save and run apps from memory card will be needed. Android put it together very fast why the **** can't Rim or some company put one together that works?
Used my bold a few months and was very happy. But today, suddenly it can't read my Memory Card anymore. All the data is still there when I check using my computer with a card reader.I did multi times Battery Pull and changed different card..
i already have my 9700 password protected and everytimes i plug my 9700 it will ask me for my password. but my question is, if i remove my sd card and plug it into my pc, it doesn't prompt me for any password. wtf? where is the security, rim? i though one of ur selling point was blackberry is a secure device?
I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have taken many pictures that are on my media card. I was on Facebook and looking at a friend's pictures. It was taking too long to download the picture, so I hit the return key to exit out of Facebook. When I went into my pictures to view the ones I had taken, there were no pictures there and I got the message "A Media Card has been inserted that is not formatted. Do you wish to format the Media Card now?"
Of course nothing happens if I hit "No".
If I select "Yes" it says "Warning: Formatting the Media Card will destroy any data stored on it. Do you wish to continue?" Of course I don't want to continue. I just want my pictures and videos back!!!!I have tried turning the phone off and taking the battery out.I have inserted a different media card and it can find the pictures on that card. I have inserted my media card into a friends similar BBerry and I get the same message about the card not being formatted.
Questions:
1) Is there ANY way to get my pictures back?I believe I downloaded most of them through the Desktop Manager, but I am not sure..
2) Any idea why this happened so I know how to avoid it happening again in the future???
I just bought a Bold 9700 from a friend with no media card. Ive tryed 2 different ones and it want show theres a card in the device ive tryed a sandisk 4g and a 8g not sure the brand on the 8g got it from a bud to try but the 4g i bought new and still no luck it just says no media card inserted.
I tried searching similar topics but could not find relevant ones. everyone seems to have no issue with swapping out sim cards on their bolds. If there is a thread already open, i do apologize. I'm really frustrated and really need my blackberry to be up and running.
I have a Bold 9700, updated to the latest OS, everything works fine. I recently had some issues with my old sim card so I went to my service provider to change it to a new one (same number, same line, same contract, just a new sim card).
As is expected I was told that when my old sim is deactivated, simply insert my new one and I can use my phone as per normal.
However, when I did this, the phone was stuck at the loading screen (the entire bar is white) for eternity (maybe 5 minutes or so) before proceeding to the homescreen. There is no "verifying security" load bar, the phone is entirely frozen, no buttons work, the touch pad does not work, it shows 3G on the top right without the blackberry sign, there is no service provider name, and once in a while the small clock loading logo appears.
I pulled the battery a couple of times and the problem persists. I called the service provider to reactivate the new sim card, they did it 3 times, same problem. I inserted the sim card into other non-blackberry phones i have and it works on all other phones. When I put back my old deactivated sim card into the 9700, the phone starts up fine within 2 - 3 minutes, "verifying security" bar as per normal, everything moves, just no service connection. When i turn on the phone without a sim card it starts up fine as well with a message at the top saying insert sim card.
I even went down to the blackberry technical service department of my service provider and they were of no help. all they could say was "we have to wipe your phone and reload the software" which I am trying to avoid and I can do myself anyways.
My phone is unlocked, comes unlocked here in singapore, I even checked using the "MEPD" method, all disabled.
This has been very frustrating, especially when I need my blackberry for work. What is wrong with my phone? How can the simple replacement of a sim card be so difficult on a blackberry when it is problem free for ANY other phone I have ever used? I am now dreading when I have to travel abroad for business and require a foreign sim card.
I have just upgraded to the 9700 from the Pearl 8110. I want to take out the memory card that has been inserted in the 9700 and swap it with a card I have in my Pearl. However, without sounding embarrassingly incompetent, I can't seem to get the card out of the 9700.I have followed the instructions, and pushed the card in before it springs out.
I have a unlocked bold 9700 and when i insert a formatted micro sd card, it says "a media card is not presently inserted in the device". What can i do to fix this, is there even a fix for it?
I just recently got myself a Bold 9700.I was wondering, the 256 mb of space for Applications and Email is somewhat limited, even more so than the Bold 9000.Is it possible to store applications on the media card, which came with a 2 gb card? Or must it only be in that 256 of internal memory.
