BB Bold :: Where Is The Character Counter For SMS On 9900
Sep 3, 2011
I dont seem to be able to find any character counter when typing an SMS on the Bold 9900? This seems an obvious feature so I assume that it has to be enabled somewhere, but cant find where.
Im looking for a app that will work inside of the apple OS sms app that will tell me how many characters i have typed. when i had my 3g on OS 3.0 and JB i had a app that did this, however when i got my 3gs i have bothered to JB is and i miss this feature. so am i SOL until i JB i this phone?
My Bold 9700 somehow refused to open email thread/conversation (means more than one email) with '{' character in the subject. Nothing happens when I click the thread. The phone itself doesn't freeze, i still can do other things.Anyone experienced this bug before?
FYI I use OS 5.0.0.656. Battery pull (and I mean physical battery pull) didn't help.
Is there a data usage counter on the phone that I can check to see amount of data upl and download? I know att provides it but I want to check usage during my Intl trip to London.
I recently upgraded the OS on my 9700 to OS6. Now the message counter shows me the total unread messages for my four email accounts and texts, but I can no longer see the counter for the individual email accounts like I could with OS5. how to change so that I can see the grand total unread messages and the individual counts for each account?
My Blackberry Bold 9900 is not turning on.Details: A battery pull has not fixed my problem.I tried using another 9900 battery, however it did not work.My battery does not work on other 9900 devices. There are no signs of moisture, nor has there been contact with water. The LED light doesn't show, nor does anything on the screen.
Any way to increase the CDMA blackberry's sms limit of 140 characters to 160? It's possible with motorola's and other phones. I know you can't make it send multiple SMS's unless you get an app like beyond 160
I just tried adding a (degree) character to an SMS I was writing (from the Sym screen) and noticed that the number of characters remaining changed by 91. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has the same problem. Open a new SMS and you should see 160 (1) in the right hand side of the text input box. Press the Fn (Up/Right arrow) button and then the Sym/Ctrl button. Choose the ° character (third row down, second from right) and watch the available-character count drop to 69 (1).
I know the ° character isn't supported as standard, but I figured I'd try it seeing as how the device was allowing me to insert it, but only expected the count to change by a maximum of 2. Any ideas what's going on? I tried sending the message to myself and it displayed OK by the way
is there any way of getting the blackberry to give you the alt character of the key by just pressing and holding the key rather than the letter in capitals?
I was texting a friend today and he asked me why my text to him came in five different messages when there were only enough characters to fit into two messages. So I tried typing the same message again and a noticed that when I use emojis the character limit changes from 160 to 70. This happens on my One m7 with the HTC keyboard, Google keyboard, swiftkey, android l keyboard, and fleksy. Only keyboard it doesn't happen with is swype but I would hardly call swype's 15 face options emojis.
I have a HTC one and after what I assume was a whole system update (around 2+ weeks ago) it gave me the emojis/emoticons on the standard keyboard instead of just the smileys. Usually I have a character limit of 160 on the normal text messages but as soon as I add an emoji it cuts it to 70.
I've read somewhere that adding an emoji means all characters double, cutting it nearly in half, but the thing is, it was only a couple days ago that it started cutting down to 70. I was putting emojis in and it was only taking one character, and not changing the overall character limit.
I was wondering whether there was the possibility to change the sms formatting so emojis will only take one character and not change the overall count?
Every few days my lock screen numbers etc go like characters and a restart seems to resolve it. What is causing it? Didn't do it prior to lollypop update
Why will my 7230 only accept names in the contacts with 10 characters or less? I have seen screen shots of the 7230 in phone review websites that show contacts with more than 10 characters. Also will not allow me to use small fonts in Contacts.
I'm trying to remove East Asian Characters and Font Support from my Blackberry Torch 9860 Os 7.1 using desktop manager 7.
When i mark them as remove and click on apply to make the changes after some time application list is reloaded with no changes that is character support packages are not removed. They are consuming around 20mb space on my phone.
When I'm replying to a text on my Env3, It doesn't show the character count for 0/160. I did my first text over 160 characters and I received a text from Verizon saying I went over my character limit. It didn't send it in two texts and it also didn't tell me where it cut off. I had to get on my computer, Open a character counter, Retype the text to see where the 160 mark was. Is there an easier way to do this? Can I send the text in two pieces instead of retyping half the text?
I currently have a HTC Hero that i got from Hong Kong. Its still on Android 1.5. I have an issue where when i load on songs that are in Chinese, some of the song names do not display in chinese (its just random symbols). However some of the songs do display correctly. I've tried switching the entire phone language to chinese and still to no avail. How do i go about fixing this?
I bought an HTC Desire about a month ago, and it's been working great so far. However, for the past couple of weeks, I noticed that I'm unable to send texts over the 160 character limit. Before, it used to just continue onto another separate text, which would both be simultaneously sent and would be received. Just to make sure that my texts aren't being lost, I changed my text settings to notify me if a text was sent through successfully; if I try to send a text over the 160 limit, the notification doesn't come up at all (not even to say that it failed), and my friends tell me that it says that the SMS says its "incomplete" and they can't read anything.
Updated my iPhone 5S to ios 8.1.1. Since then, I am not able to type in chinese & japanese character.Â
Although I can select the input language from the globe, I type in the 'pinyin' but it shows only the alphabets that I type, not chinese characters. Same thins happens when I tried to type Japanese language.Â
So i got a new torch it was locked andmit has 1 trie left how to get more tries left i got the unlock code but i am scared that it is wrong or i type it wront so my phone will become fully locked
I used to own beyond160, it stopped working when I went to OS5.419, anyway.Yesterday, Monday, I was typing an SMS, I dropped by phone, but when I picked it up I noticed something different. Underneath the name in the SMS where it shows the characters left in an SMS, it said "160 (1/6)". I was able to type, the 160 would count down, and once I passed the 160 mark it said "160 (2/6)". I opened new SMS threads, exited in and out of messages, was able to span texts. This support for spanning texts came out of nowhere, but I look at my phone now, and it's gone! back to 160 and saying Field Full after I finish typing.
I just bought my Storm two days ago, and I love it tons (it's my first BBerry) but I seem to be only able to type out 48 characters in an SMS. I know that 'supposedly' you can do more than that in an MMS and e-mail (I have yet to try) but has anyone had this problem before? This is way too short for me, and I'm kind of on a budget at the moment so buying anything like Beyond160 is something I would do if I had the money. Are there any free apps that could take care of this, or do I need to call someone?
Is there anyone else out there wondering what RIM was thinking when they forgot to put a decimal ( . ) key in the numeric and alt character section of the Storm keyboard? It is a royal pain in the a** having to go back and forth between the two keyboards when you are typing numbers with decimal points. Furthermore how do you get this complaint to someone that could do something about it?
I hav a new Blackberry curve. Unfortunately the e key is not working (possibly after condensation forming on the device). Luckily my password does not contain e Unluckily I entered the password incorrectly. And now I have to enter BlackbErry to continue Unfortunately I cant type the E. way to get round this, either by getting the E to work, or by circumventing the "BlackbErry to continue " check?
