i just purchased an unlocked bold 9650, originally with verizon. I am with FIDO.phone works great! but i cannot for the life of me, upgrade my software to OS 6.I have the latest device manager on my desktop and whenever i check for new updates, it says there are none. I downloaded the web version, to upload, but it will not work.
View 9 RepliesI bought unlocked Verizon 9650 Bold from eBay in the month of December, I was using normal gprs plan on this phone and it works fine without BIS. Now I have subscribed for BIS but I am still getting "edge" and not "EDGE". Vodfone people are no help they keep saying that the phone is not lashed on to their network. It works fine as a phone and I am able to use gprs without any problem.I have performed following steps:
- hard reboot.
- register now from Host Routing Table (HRT is empty). Nothing happens when I do register now.
- data service is on, while roaming on
Wondering if any of u have gotten ur verizon 9650? If so have u noticed ur trackpad left side being higher than right? I ask becuz as we all may know the sprint 9650 has that. Doesn't bother me...nor do I think its defect.

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy phone is 3 days old and did not have issues until last night. The browser allows me to initally connect ot a webpage, but will not allow me to click on any links. The cursor switches appropriately when just navigating vs. hovering over a link, but the track pad will not regist any "clicks".Has anyone encountered this or know of the fix?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Verizon BlackBerry Bold 9650 unlocked in India since the past 5-6 months working fine but since the past 12 days I am not been able to receive any blackberry data services. My e-mails, BBM, Internet nothing seems to work but I am able to use text messaging and make voice calls like any other phone. I have tried every and all methods to make it work, I have replaced my Sim-card twice and even reinstalled and updated my phone software three times. Vodafone(India) is my current service provider and they have all services active on my number but my phone doesn't seem to receive any. My sim card is working fine with other phones but no sim card works in mine.

One of the only problems I have with is downloading ANYTHING: Whenever I download apps at the Blackberry App World, the download stalls (shows the loading icon) every 100kbs downloaded. I just want to know if this is something unavoidable or if there's a way this can be fixed so I can download with no pauses.

Several times while she's had the phone at work on her desk, plugged in and charging, it has shown SOS where the signal meter is and she lost all service. No phone calls, no email or messenger, etc. She went into manage connections and it showed T-Mobile as the wireless network one day, and AT&T another day, but this is a Verizon phone. How can that happen?

I had it unlocked so I could use my SIM Card for Vodacom in South Africa which had a blackberry contract, inclusive of Data. I was in South Africa from January to Mid-September.The phone worked perfectly until May, upon which I had occasional cut-outs of BIS. By the end of May, I had suffered 2 weeks without internet. I filed many complaints with Vodacom, and the issue was even escalated to RIM. But I never had any progress. It worked for a day, sparatically. The issue continued until I left in Mid-September. Upon arriving back in the USA, my blackberry worked perfectly on my CDMA Verizon contract,but I am planning on returning to South Africa. I would like to know what this issue was, and how it can be fixed. Vodacom and Vodaworld (a Tech World for Vodacom) could not do much, as the phone was American and, though there are many people in South Africa with the same phone, all have suffered the same problem. We also upgraded to OS 5 and reverted to the previous OS 4 to try see if it would make a difference.As a side note, I was able to use WAP browsing, which I had to pay for, but the BIS didn't work, no matter how many HRT or battery pull restarts I attempted.

I've registered BIS in local provider (MTS Russia) and now I have following problem. BIS is working only after I switch of GPRS service on my sim-card (GSM). And once GPRS is enabled BIS is not working.
Is there any solution for this problem or this phone is unable to work in Russian network in a way when GPRS Internet and BIS exist simultaneousely.

I confirmed that its unlocked from MEPD command (although it says Network: ''Inactive'' instead of 'disabled').I tried using various GSM network SIMs (India) in it and everytime, it shows an active tower and full signal levels and displays the name of the network correctly. It looks as if its connected to the GSM service at full signal.However, placing calls fail and any call made to the number gives a 'Switched Off' message. i have tried: Battery pull & Wipe out.

I recently bought a verizon bb storm 9530, bought the code to unlocked and be able to use it with Tmobile, but I accidentally enter the wrong code 10 time and now I can not unlock to use it with tmobile at all.... is it true that the phone can not be unlock with any provider anymore since I locked it, it can be use with verizon, but that is not the provider.

I cann't get any computer (Windows 7 or XP Pro) to recognize the device as "mass storage device" so I can access the memory card. There is plenty of items on the card, and I can access them fro mthe decive, but the computer won't "find" it. This is with DM 5.0 and 4.7, on windows XP Pro and Windows 7.

On my old BB I hit the back arrow key and it saved to draft, (i would often have 4-5 texts in draft before I sent all out) If im not mistaken you cant do this on the new 9650?? Do I need to get an application to assist with this? ANy suggestions? Sorry if this is a rookie question but...Im a rookie when it comes to these phones.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded my 9630 to my new bold 9650 I had a 16gb micro sd card in the 9630. I copied all of the files from my card to my computer, put the 16gb card in my 9650 and formatted the card. I then copied all of the files from my computer back to the sd card and put the card back in the 9650. All seems to be ok, I have my pictures etc. When I go to connect my BB 9650 to my computer I get a message on the BB that says: "Content rights do not match this device. Please insert the media card back to the right device." this only happens if I have the memory option set to "Auto enable mass storage mode storage set to NO" Any ideas?

Is anyone else having trouble using the "Vibrate in Holster" setting? My 8330 would automatically switch to vibrate when I put it in my holster that has the magnetic closure. My 9650 fits in the same holster but doesn't seem to switch to vibrate even though I have that setting chosen under my sounds profiles.

I purchased an unlocked BB Storm 2 (original Verizon USA) to use in India. It can only receive SMS on Vodafone India network. No incoming-outgoing call. It works fine on Airtel, Idea etc in India. Vodafone India blames the phone and the phone vendor (in USA) blames the network. I used another Vodafone SIM also - did not work.

I usually sleep with my Bold in bed with me (who doesn't) lol, and have been waken up many times to a sizzling hot phone. like burning up hot. I put it on the nightstand and seems to cool down. but I always slept with my tour laying next to me in bed, and it never got that hot. Not being weird its my alarm clock and i don't have a nightstand on my side of the bed and I sure as heck am not leaving it on the nightstand with my wife's bold. mine needs comfort lol. Also i realize this may have been posted before, but i am more looking for 9650 specific threads. and more charging specific threads as well.
Is the keyboard on the 9650 exactly the same as the 9630? Or is it the same as the keyboard on the 9700? The keyboard on the 9700 is much nicer in my opinion to that of the 9630 as its a little wider it seems and keys seem a touch bigger.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSince my contract is up on Sunday (for me and my mom anyways, my dads isn't until october, so they are making us pay the early termination fee or go without a phone for 3 months, oh and this is Verizon i'm talking about, but you probably could've guessed that) and I am thinking about either getting a bold 9650 or curve 8530 for Sprint, since Verizon makes you add $30 onto each blackberry(crooks). But I was looking at the features and I would like the Bold but for some reason the cheapest I can find it is $99, while the Bold for Verizon I can find for free. My question is, is the Bold a lot better, enough to spend 100 dollars instead of 50? and why is it that I can find the Verizon bold for free but not for Sprint?
