BB Bold 9700 :: Initialization Failed - Unable To Receive / Make Calls?
Apr 27, 2010
I'm unable to receive or make calls. It says "Initialization Failed" and I have no coverage (SOS). I removed the battery to reset it but it's still not working. What should I do?

Recently I have been getting a problem with my 9700 Blackberry. When I make or receive calls, I can not hear anything out of my handset. The person on the other line can hear fine (Usually with me going Hello Hello a million times!) The only time I can hear anything is when I have my bluetooth on or switching it to speakerphone.
I tried doing the soft reset (battery pull when the phone was still on) ...still nothing. Although it did work a couple of times. Its on and off, but recently the situation has gone from bad to worse.Anyone out there with the 9700 with the same issue? It's really annoying and I do use the phone a lot for important calls.
I have a blackberry bold 9700 with TMobile that cannot make or receive calls as of yesterday. Texts and email work fine and I have done a battery pull about five times. When I try to make a call, there is this constant clicking, almost like a pulse sounds that comes through the phone. I tried to call my wife's phone and her phone rings with my number but no voice goes through. Same problem when I receive a call, the pulse thing happens and it goes to voice mail...which I of course can't check. I have had this phone for almost two years and this has never happened before. This just started happening yesterday with no changes to the phone (OS update, new app, etc.).
My blackberry bold 9700 can't call out or receive calls it keeps showing an error message.Uncaught exception:applicationregistry.waitfor(0x7c802477365c3985)timeout
I have a blackberry bold 9700 with the latest software .862the phone has been unlocked and was originally on O2 UK.i however am using a 3uk Sim and the simcard itself is relatively new.i am constantly throughout my day receiving the error "sim not allowed".can someone please advise a possible fix to this as i cant receive or make calls when this happens and the only cure so far i found is a battery pull.
I have a blackberry bold 9700 i have a problem where i cant recieve or make calls or send & recieve text.. it comes up with signal and my mobile network - vodafone! i dont know what to do!
i just purchased a replacement bb bold 9000 off ebay (it's an unlocked at&t handset that i bought after my bb bold got stolen... total bummer) and it was working fine all week up until last night when it stopped being able to handle incoming and outgoing calls and texts. The internet and email functions still work which is very peculiar. also some further info, when i put my sim card into another handset (in this case a nokia e65) all my normal call functions work and when i put another sim card in the bold the same thing happens (when i try to make a call it instantly pops up with a call failed warning). another thing is the bold shows full service coverage... currently the bold about shows... v4.6.0.304 (Platform 4.0.0.247) im on australia and for some reason i cant update the os to v5
I have stopped being able to make and receive calls but my email and bbm still work. I only got the phone a month ago and its the bold 9700. i have rebooted and spoke to my carrier and its not helped. Can make and recieve calls when i use a different phone just not on mine.
I have only had it a month and everything was fine until a few days ago.I think im going to go mental on this phone becasue its really annoying me.Quite often when attempting to make a phone call the message 'no circuit/channel available' will come up and i cannot make or receive phone-calls.After looking at various other threads i found that this is usually a problem with people on the vodafone network (which i am not on) and is something to do with 3G. Now, having read other threads, turning 3G off and using only 2G solves the problem, but then, what is the point of having 3G if you cannot use it, right? I also dont have the problem in my house as i use wi-fi to connect to my wireless router and boost the signal.
Recently, my hp is unable to make call and receive call from everyone. the green and red button are not functioning too. I can sms or bbm only. The code is : "Uncaught exception : applicationRegistry.wait For (0x7c802477365c3985)time out " and code 523 shown and my hp has to be reset again and again.
My BB bold 9780 is unable to make or receive calls when on the 2G network though the data works ok via Edge and I can browse, receive corporate mail etc. When I switch to the 3G network it receives and makes calls OK..
My 4 month old Blackberry Bold 9700 bought through Bell Mobility stopped working 2-3 weeks ago; was unable to send/receive calls or text even with the signal strength indicator showing full strength and the 3G symbol showing. Returned the phone to Bell Mobility for repairs and the phone was returned after about 2 weeks, but still not working. We could not find any scratch at all on the glass that covers the LCD display, and phone does not work, so have to wonder if they looked at the right phone. I Called the Bell Mobility service center, and they had the tech at the store reload the software again, third time this was done, still not working. Also reloading software on my phone apparently takes much longer than normal, about one hour.
Tech support at Bell finally told me the phone was not fixable, and gave me a ticket number to get a replacement phone through the Bell Mobility premium plan warranty I had purchased. Called thinking I would finally get a phone that works, but the insurance company that deals with the Bell Mobility warranty said that because the phone is under the one year manufacturers warranty they would not cover it, and it would cost me $150 if they were to replace the phone.
The customer service lady would not tell me what revisit means, but it seems to mean I will not be getting a working Blackberry any time soon. RIM also does not seem to offer or honor a warranty? I find it hard to believe that RIM offers no customer support or warranty on their Blackberry products, but could not find any information on a warranty in the booklets that came with the phone. Either way, the service rep at RIM told me they do not offer warranty repair services for their products and I would have to deal with the company that sold me the phone, Bell Mobility. These Blackberry phones are not cheap, so I cant really afford to buy a few of them for back up.
Each time OVI starts I get en error popup: "Music initialization failed, Unable to set the watch folder". I click OK and OVI then seems to work fine. I've tried setting a watch folder, and switching off music sync (which I don't want anyway). How can I make it forget the damned music? Using XP.
my phone says initialization failed sim not recognized I've tried another sim and that dosent work either I've done the. Battery and sim out to reboot but nothing working?
last month i started recieving an error on the phone which keeps saying initialization failed and this prevents me from making calls and it doesnt even load up my simcard...tried my simcard in other phones and it works perfectly..i have tried a couple of sim card in the phone and i still get the same error..and even without a simcard in the phone it still displays the error of initialization failed..i have tried many tips as advised onlike like reloading the software version and all but i still get the same error.
Following a re-download of the desktop software for a Bold 9700 - which appears to have been successful - on connecting the handset, I get a dialogue box saying 'initializing device'. However this just runs and runs (for over an hour!). I've tried resetting the handset by taking the battery out but no joy. The PC definitely recognises the phone. Another post for a similar (though not identical issue) suggests that the sim card may have failed?
I have just got a second hand Blackberry curve 9300 Its unblocked I put in My PAYG sim card and everything was working fine Then the next day I topped up my card Now nothing is working
I have opened my phone to use a t-mobile sim which was on a vodaphone network, the phone has been synced to itunes with no problem. i have tried another two working sim from another phone, but it goes to voice mail not recognizing the sim, i have created an Apple account
got my phone back from vodfone after being repaired they have blocked it and i can't do anything with it , can't make or recieve calls , any know how to unblock it ?
Was looking for a bit for advice please as I have come to a standstill with my Curve 8520.It was working fine for the past week there and in the last two days I have been unable to make or receive calls or texts. My SIM works in other phones, just not my Blackberry.
I recently went abroad and was unable to make calls or receive texts, although I was able to use BB messenger, Facebook and twitter. I contacted my carrier (vodafone) who told me my sim card was out of date and I need a new one. When I returned home I had a new sim card waiting for me, when I put this in my phone and activated it all was fine for about twho hours, then I lost all the email settings. I did not think this would be a big deal and set about setting them up again.
I finally managed to set up my hotmail (I need to use the vodafone BIS website), but no matter what I do I can not set up the other two emails. I have contacted vodafone who say this is my problem and i must have wrong password or settings (despite the fact these worked fine).
My question is, can I restore the email settings from a backup?
I have been a BB lover for years. My Curve 5320 served me well and I loved it. When the new Bold 9700 was released I was one of the first to get it b/c businesses were offered the opportunity to get it before individuals. I was so excited about 3G, it's sleek look, etc. My excitement has officially crashed and burned. When placing calls it will fail repeatedly before even dialing the number. It will fail during calls up to 5 and 6 times in a few minute period, which is HORRIBLE during business calls. It will lock up when I'm trying to move between apps, it will spontaneously shut itself off. I'm feeling like my BB is possessed. This is my second 9700. The first the E key would stick or repeat 20 times on a text and the calls would fail, so they diligently sent me a new one. Thankfully, I no longer have to edit every text for 100 e's (i'm stopping @ theeeeeee storeeeeeeeeeee is theeeeeeereeeeeee anything you neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed), but the failed calls thing is really pissing me off! Also, the volume on calls is really low in comparison to my Curve. To top it off, the 3G speed seems as slow as, if not slower than my former EDGE. I am hoping and praying that a software upgrade will fix all of these issues, but if it doesn't are there any suggestions as to what i can do? Other than switching to an iPhone? I for one happen to love my Qwerty keyboard and am not exactly fond of the on-screen keyboards.
Though I am getting edge on my phone. Receiving my mails and whats app messages. I am not able to make calls and receive calls, or text messages. Is it cause of the hardware or the network?
