Whenever I am on a call, if some one else tries to dial my number, they get the busy dial tone (engaged call). How do I make it call waiting? I tried to find the solution from my service provider but he says it can be done with some option configuration on the phone...

View 6 Replies View RelatedFrom looking through similar threads, I see that it is a problem changing any shortcuts. My particular problem is hitting the spacebar and the phone comes up and, as I have already done several times, hit it a few more times and you will accidentally dial a number in your address book. When I have my phone in my pocket and I don't have keylock on, I have called several numbers.
Luckily, I realized what I had done before the phone was left on for a long time and they could listen to whatever I was saying. I could see where this could become a MAJOR problem! One of the threads mentioned a 3rd party app (without saying what it was) that could change the shortcut. Does anyone know what that is? Better yet, does anyone know how you CAN change the shortcut? I'd rather not have to put the key lock on every time I put the phone in my pocket.
i have BB bold 9000. i want to make the keypad on my bb with multiple colors as in the first line of alphabets white.then the next line of alphabets black so on and soo forth. is there a way to do. or am i stuck with the keypad that i have for now.

When listening to music, I'm finding that the volume increases whenever you go to the next track. This is very annoying, as I am forever getting blasted with noise, and having to decrease the volume on the phone.
Like when you use applications and they automatically turn the status bar black. Is there a system file I can edit to change the default color to something like a green when I'm opening certain applications that use the black bar? I really don't want to put up with seeing burn in where the status bar is in the main UI or watching videos or something like that.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my 9700 for about two years and three months. About three months ago, the battery started dying quickly (under a day). Over the last couple of weeks, that charge last less than five hours so I bought a new one yesterday. After charging it for a day, the new battery last a similar amount of time today. The phone seemed to be busy (the spinning clock) a bit more often, but I would have to guess that this was just the problem progressing and not related to the new battery.I looked into other solutions and tried pulling the storage card and battery at the same time, as well as turning off compression. Those didn't help.
The phone started going busy on me a bit more after that, and now it's gotten to the point where I haven't been able to do anything with the phone for hours. Is there a way to stop it? Is there a way to format this thing without going through the software?As for apps, not much was running as I've been pulling the battery constantly today. On an average day I may check emails, send texts, maybe bridge to my Playbook, use the Sports Illustrated app, or use the browser. I'm not sure what version of the OS I have, though I update fairly regularly.
Does anyone know how to change the default setting for the locked screen? Right now when I press key lock, my wallpaper shows for a few seconds, but then it switches to the big clock. How to I get it to stay on my wallpaper and not show the clock? I just upgraded from My curve 8300 to the Bold 9700 and the only thing I hate about it is the big clock that shows up when I lock the screen.

Ever since I upgraded to OS 7.1 on my Verizon Bold 9930, I often get the message "Device Media Processor Busy" when I use the media player, Pandora or watch a You Tube video. I've looked on several forums and found that this is a common problem. The only fix is to remove the battery to reset the phone. But after several uses of various Media Apps the problem comes back. Is there something I can doing to eliminate this issue, or is there going to be a new OS upgrade that fixes this problem. I'm currently running 7.1.0 Bundle 457.

After 2 months of perfectly working period with internet and all my mails 1 of the phones (mine) it s not working anymore, after contacted my provider VODAFONE ITALY and tried all the possible solutions(several reset, updates) it still not working as the provider said the pin seems to be busy in another country.

Apparently the guy who had it, had it locked to a BES and now I cannot disable my password protection settings. Currently I have a new bold 9000, I tried to copy my sim card contact to the address book on bold. It came out to be only 200+ contact were shown on my bold, the rest of the 600+ contact was not copy to it. View 4 Replies View RelatedBackground:Bought a bold 9000 the day it was released in Canada. Worked perfectly, maybe dropped it a few times but everything was working. Recently I upgraded to the 9700 and sent my brother my 9000.He had it for a week with Telus (originally on Rogers, and unlocked). He then dropped it off his bed onto a hardwood floor (not very high). Since then it would not turn on, no red LED or anything.I went over all the common steps to getting it working:
-Battery pull
-Take out Sim Card, and battery
-Try connecting to wall charger or pc with and without battery
-Basically everything listed in other posts with the same problem
So the above steps (search for details on them) work for some people, and not for others.So it was dead, he mailed it back to me to try and fix. I tried all the common solutions again with no luck.Then I decided to try something else.How I fixed it:You know when your computer is screwed up, and someone suggests to reset the bios settings? All computers have a little backup battery to keep your settings, and keep the clock running on your computer. So even when it is unplugged from the wall and you turn it back on the time is right.Well the 9000 has a similar battery, I am not 100% sure what it is used for but removing it completely solved my problem. I know it is used to keep the time when the main battery is removed - what else i'm not sure.. Mine seems to work fine with it removed. It does not reset any other data it seems, all contacts, email themes and everything are still intact.Once this battery was removed, I put the battery back in and everything works perfectly now! The only issue I have noticed is that the time does not advance once the battery is removed.. Since my brother always has his phone on, and it updates the time from the network there is no big problem with this. -Again, the time works perfectly as long as the main battery is in.Here are the steps, you don't even need to dissassemble the blackberry:
1 - Remove the black plastic sticker on the back
2 - using a small screwdriver (or better yet, soldering iron) remove the small circular battery from the PCB.
3 - put battery back in and pray

I suggest this only as a LAST resort on phones that are not under warranty anymore. I will not be blamed for anyone breaking their phone (more?).
No Red light Nothing. When I read another post on the fourm they indicated to take the battery out for 8 hours and replace it I did and boom he ed light appeared and I tried to quickly connect to desktop manager and download 4.6 and midway through the bold went dead again no red light nothing. After multiple attempts it came on again but for only 5 min and went out. I have critical data I need to recover. Any suggestions ?

I was adding a custom ringtone and accidentally edited vibrate and hit replace all.Now it no longer rings on any profile.and yes i did change it so it plays a ringtone again, and nothing.I even restored the profiles to yesterdays backup.and nothing works.
