iPhone 4 screen has been black for hours, thought it had died to begin with. Now the screen lights up but is still black. Have tried the restarting technique but nothing has worked nor has the apple icon shown up.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads.What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus?
2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?
I dropped my 18mth old i phone 5 , the screen has smashed, the camera wont work, and it drains bettery in few hours, as well as getting really hot, will apple replace for a fee ?

Since Friday the screen of my N97 has been all over the place. I touch one part and it's unresponsive, I touch another and it does something that I didn't ask it to do.I figured out quite quickly that it was the screen calibration that had gone to **bleep** and although I had no clue as to why, I re-calibrated the screen.Success for a few hours then the same happened again.I re-calibrate the screen, everything works fine for a few hours then I have to do it all again.I've re-flashed, soft and hard reset and still it's the same.Had to resort to using my N95 at the moment until I find out if there is a solution or whether it is getting returned to Nokia under warranty.Any suggestions would be helpful.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI dropped my iphone about 3 hours ago and it landed screen-down, but it was not shattered. everything on the phone works however i can't see anything - the screen is COMPLETELY black. i tried resetting it by pressing the home and power buttons at the same time, and it has not worked. since the phone is entirely functional except for the screen, i can hear when i get a text, etc. when i tried restarting it, I knew it worked because it made a sound when it came back on and was charging, therefore the only issue is the screen.

I kept my iphone 3gs at charging yesterday,n it completed 60% of its charging,in the meantime I got message from someone & to check that out as soon as i raised my phone ,its dock flew out from the switchboard's socket and my screen went black..i tried switching it on several times along with inserting in/out my sim evry now and then but nothing worked.

Yesterday I took my iPhone 4S off the charger and for some reason the screen was black. Power off and on, hard reset and plugging into PC and wall charger does not work. It is on, because if turned on silent it vibrates and when plugged in it makes a noise. Otherwise unresponsive. Also, I just left it for a bit yesterday in the hope that it might fix itself and when I came to check on it, it was really hot. It wasn't plugged into the charger or anything...

View 6 Replies View RelatedFor the past month, my galaxy S6 has been having problems. The screen won't turn on when I press the home or power button. Also when I plug it to its charger, the screen still won't turn on and the LED won't turn red as well. When this happens, I know for a fact that the phone is still turned on because the notification light blinks because of the received notification sometime during its idle time. Here's what I've tried so far:
- I am able to force reset the device by holding the power and volume down button until it restarts. I felt relieved that I am able to restart my phone when it happened the first time but pretty annoyed when it kept on happening.
- I tried clearing cache partition in recovery mode. At first I thought it worked but still...
-I already did a factory reset (twice) but right after the latest hard reset just 3 or 4 hours into it, still screen won't turn on.
- Earlier I thought that it was because of the notifications I was receiving while I was asleep (viber, facebook, sms) since when I woke up in the morning and the screen won't turn on, I had pending notifications. But recently, the screen won't turn on after being idle for a few hours without received notifications.
At first I thought it was a software issue but I'm starting to think that it might be a hardware issue. I'm planning to take it to Samsung in a few days if the problem won't go away. My device is not rooted by the way.
I was running the cnbc real time app and my screen went dark. I could see the backlight was still on but the screen was a lit black screen. For a few minutes I presses all the buttons and finally the phone booted up.
This morning my phone did the same thing for no reason. I finally had to press both the power button and home screen button to get it to re boot. When I ran the new game. Eliminate gun range, the phone did the same thing My concern is that I may not be able to replicate it at the genius bar if I take the phone there
I've had this happen approximately 6 times now, and the last two times it happened, today and yesterday, I noticed that it does it just as I hit send on a text message. The screen just goes black and then the apple logo comes up 10 seconds later, like it just rebooted itself. Has anyone else experienced this? My wife has one too and said it hasn't happened to her, but maybe she just hasn't noticed it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Iphone 4 keeps turning off /black screen. I plug it in and I get the rebooting screen most of the time. I have had to completely restore it two times in the last week. In between the 2 restores I got the latest hardware upgrade & the latest Itunes version on my computer. I have only had it since June of 2011 and have been told that can't be the battery (the battery is always full when this happens or at least half way full) It has been turning off for the last month off/on. I spoke to verizon and they said it could be an app causing it, although they don't know which one. They had me turn off wi-fi and turn on cellular roaming and I also went in on my own and turned off most of my location services (except find my Iphone)
