Xperia Z5 :: Google Play Services Draining 20% Battery
Jul 3, 2010
I have my device constantly in stamina mode BUT google play services is draining 20% battery per day and is more than my screen . My screen is hardly ever on but my device is always awake .
I've noticed this issue when I realised that 1% of battery goes every 20 minutes. I see Google Play Services as the top battery drainer on my phone. I use the Moto 360 with it. I tried switching bluetooth off and checking, it's still the same, 1% every 20-30 minutes of no usage.
Edit: I forgot to mention that yesterday before I slept, I saw the battery was at 83%. Seven hours later, it was at 70%. Is this normal? Am I over-reacting?
From a few days I have noticed that Google play services is totally draining my nexus 6 battery even though I have closed all apps like play music and play newsstand..I have now closed my location services and the Google now cards and after that its slightly better but then what's the point of having a nexus 6 if I can't use these features..
So i just got a HTC One 3 days ago. My battery life has been AMAZING. But yesterday my play store updated and my google now updated. Play store is running 4.4.21. I also put the google experience launcher on there from phandroids video. I unplugged my phone last night and when i went to bed i had 80% 8 hours later i woke up and had 9%. Gsam battery monitor said Google play services?
I took off the launcher but now i am stuck with the google now up date and the play store update. I also started using google hangouts. I tried uninstalling the play store update but then google hangouts won't work. What could have caused this? The phone is plugged in charging now so i have been through a days use since this happened but i am just a little worried because that is one of the main things that i was worried about before i got the phone was battery life!
I am on my 5th charge, and Google Play services is my number one battery drainer.
I have location services, BT, on 24/7. I only connect to BT when in my car though, so 5% of the day maybe.
If I let me phone sit idle for about 4 hours, Google Play services will be the only thing that consumed battery.
So far i've tried disabling NFC, google hang outs, ambient screen. I am trying things one at a time to see what's causing it.
There are no wakelocks, because I click the graph and I show it's only awake when I am actually using it. GPS is rarely, if ever on. WIFI is never on, as I have green signal everywhere + unlimited data via tmobile. I also do not have any other always connected apps like facebook, or facebook IM, twitter, or whatsapp, etc.
On my battery stats page, Google Play Services gets up to 15% by the end of the day.. I have disabled syncing a lot of data and do not auto update apps. If you need any other info, just ask
I am having trouble with my Google play store. While I try to access it, it shows me an error that says "An application requires an update for Google play services".
Just yesterday my phone has started to malfunction. A pop up window keeps appearing ''Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped''. I have to click it around 6 times before it stops popping up, this happens frequently every minute.
When I try to use my camera it says ''Unfortunately, Camera has stopped''. When go onto Settings, Half of the menus are unusable. If I click one that's ''broken'' It closes itself immediately.
The sub menus that do this are: - Wi-Fi - Bluetooth - Data usage - Home - Display - Sound & notification - Storage - Apps - Tap & pay - Security - Accounts - Language & input - Date and time - Accessability - Printing - About phone
It appears I have a major battery drain with my 6P from exchange services. It appears to be rather sporadic, but as it stands the phone tends to last ~10 hours in standby. When looking at the battery usage, it appears that 35% of the use is by exchange services. This used to never be an issue with my N6 or any previous Nexus phones.
I cannot re-enable Google Play services on my HTC One M7. I disabled it to bypass the recent broken voice call problems. When I disabled it, the call worked. The battery drained, charged, and I turned it back on. Now I the broken voice call problem is back and the Google Play services is permanently disabled--when I go to apps to enable it, the button for enable/disable is gray.
WiFi in my nexus 5 is taking nearly 40% of battery though the WiFi is turned off This issue started after updating to android 6.0 . Is there any fault with my mobile.
In the last week my 32Gb Nexus 5 has started to drain the battery quickly about 6-8 hours after I pull it off the charger. I'll suddenly notice that it is feeling warm, check, and find the temperature about 15F higher than normal. Checking the battery stats indicates that it is stuck awake just sitting in my pocket not being used. GSAM indicates that the CPU time seems to be being eaten by Android System and maybe Kernel. Restarting the device clears the problem, at least until the next day.
This was happening with 5.0.2 and continues since I updated OTA to 5.1. I am not rooted. I upgraded to 5.0.2 for 4.4.4 via OTA.
I'm not sure if the answer is to do a factory reset and reload or not. If I do that should I allow it to restore apps and settings or should I manually restore my apps and data? I am concerned I may restore the problem again.
Having problems with Google Play Services constantly running? Auto sync off for ALL of Google services. No location on. But battery stats showing Google Play Services running and cannot stop it. Right now it has used 20%. Wifi showing constantly receiving sending data, not many apps installed, in fact already did a factory reset.
I did not notice this problem until recently, at first I used Carbon+Ex kernel, now Im using Optipop+Uber, but the problem's still there, even with different Gapps. Can this be a hardware problem.
Google Play Services suddenly started to drain my battery. 100->87%, 18 minutes SOT 2 hours standby.
I found out, that I have an outdated version of Google Play Services and I have tried Google, but can't seem to find a way to manually update it and since it don't update itself, how do I update it?
I guess this seems like a good problem to have, but since I got the stage fright update, I've been having these small spikes of battery gain when my phone is off the charger. It looks good on the surface, but I don't know if it maybe indicates some issue with the battery?
I set up smart lock with trusted places. When it works it works. But every time I restart my phone I now get 'google play services has stopped'. I tried uninstalling google play services updates and reinstalling with no luck. Smart lock also deleted my trusted places last night and google play services crashed again this morning when I tried to read them.
Maybe this why samsung hide the setting on this phone (smart lock works perfectly on the moto x 2014 btw, so its not L )
i have a S6 without root and all stock . I have a very big battery drain of Google Play Services , i already turn location off , sync off , search in many forums and turn off many options of google , disable many apps of google , etc , but i still having a very big battery drain of Google Services ( i updated too with a apk to the last update ) ... I only find a solution and is with app ops , but i am not root , and seems that all app ops need to be root
"Google Services" is constantly my biggest battery drain. It is consistently 2x more than the next biggest power hungry app "Google Search". These two apps together account for 40% OF MY BATTERY LIFE LOST. I did a factory reset with no impact. The battery screenshots I see here from others never seem to reflect what I am seeing - the screen is always the biggest drain, which I would expect.
My X sees light to moderate use with 2 SOT usually.
Battery is draining while charging, I did restarted the phone and it works the phone is charging, then after the first charged it came back again draining while charging?
After using my cell for 5 months mostly without any issues, I am seeing problems in battery. Since last 2 days the battery is draining out very fast ... like close to 1 day after fully charging. I am noticing this as an issue since earlier it used to take close to 2.5 days after fully charging. The usage pattern is same ... right now my cell is dead and i will provide battery usage data once i charge it .
