Jul 21, 2010I'm just about to debrand my Vodafone C902. Does anyone know whether the unsaved numbers list will still be there after a debrand? I've got 100s of unsaved numbers and they are occasionally useful.

May 21, 2010I am trying to debrand my SE phone, using this article as a guide: http://www.associatedcontent.[....]nd_a_sonyericsson.html?cat=15. I installed all the necessary programs and drivers, created an .xml file (for generic American version), transferred it to phone, tried SE Update Service, no go. Says I already have the newest software. I tried creating a new .xml file, but this time using Western Europe instead of America. Still, Update Service says my software is new enough. Then I tried going back and creating a generic American .xml and using Update Service to reinstall my OS, but that only reinstalled the old and customized AT&T OS which is what I'm trying to get rid of. So my questions are: 1) I was sort of reluctant to debrand in the first place, but what is the worst thing that can happen if debranding fails? 2) Is there some other CDA number I can use (instead of America/W. Europe) and still be able to use my phone with my service provider? Perhaps Central or Eastern Europe?

Aug 12, 2010My Mum bought a Sony Ericsson C510 which has an unsightly "Tesco Mobile" logo on the right softkey. On the first night, I took to 'debranding' by dumping a custom_upgrade.xml in the phone's ROM using A2 uploader and then running Sony Ericsson updater so it fetched a normal firmware ROM (Western Europe C6A, 1209-4774). Afterwards the signal strength was abysmal so I tried a UK custom CDA then finally just went back to the TESCO CDA... (there's however no way of me knowing if it's the exact same CDA though, it was listed on A2 CDA generator). It was showing full-strength for a while - overnight it's back to abysmal strength. There's a chance it was like this before - though I recall seeing it on full bars when she'd just got it out the packaging. Now I'm really unsettled that I've screwed her new phone. Doesn't help that I was like "Dad, I updated the software on Mum's phone and now..." he was displeased as he remembers my motorola modding days. Ofcourse I didn't dare mention that I fiddled with the way it updated. Is it possible I'm just noticing this now? The CDA just changes the region/branding of the firmware SUSE fetches, right. Jun 29, 2010I recently debranded my C905a and I want to know if anyone knows for a fact that if by doing so I have reduced my phone's ability to mainain a decent reception signal. If I remeber correctly, I had the same problem before I debranded. I've called Sony Ericsson about the low reception strength and they told me that it was a network problem. I know that is not true b/c before the C905a, I was using a Nokia 2610 (a cheapie until I could upgrade) and that phone always had a signal virtually anywhere and I can count on 1 hand how many dropped calls I had using that phone. I do live out in a semi-rural area but, my mother has a Nokia 6555 (I live w/ her) and she does not have the problem with dropped calls like I do. But, w/ the C905a, I have to put the phone on speaker 3/4 of the time b/c when I put the phone to my ear, it simply looses all reception. The closer to the city I get, the reception problem becomes less an issue.

Sep 17, 2010I've had my c902 for about 6 months. Great camera etc, but on the specs sheet it says it has a "red eye reduction" function. My old K800i had the option to turn it on or off. But I cannot find it anywhere on any of the camera menus on my c902. I've even tried the simulator on the sonyericsson site without any success. My c902 is an unbranded model sim free, so no unusual optimized software from mobile operators.

Jan 6, 2010yesterday, i changing the housing/fascia of my fully working c902 (used a tuturial on Internet) and everything went fine until i finally assembled everything and found out that it wasn't turning on... i've checked everything a thousand times, every connector and piece and all seems normal but i can't solve this problem. there isn't any signal when connect it to the power either. i just feel the battery getting warmer, nothing else (the battery should be fine since i tested with a backup battery which didn't work either).what could be the cause? please, i'm getting mad with this problem, your help will be very appreciated.

Mar 10, 2010I have a problem with my C902, well two actually, let me start by admitting that I got in a temper with something else and my C902 got thrown on the floor ( I know stupid but I was annoyed). Now obviously I assumed that I have merely damaged some hardware or dislodged a connector as the case got slightly damaged. So I took it apart and checked inside and nothing seems to be damaged, however I did order a new speaker/vibrator unit and fitted that anyway. The problem is still there, no sounds play at all, no alarm, no ringer, not even the test sounds from the service menu tests can be heard, the earpiece speaker still works and the vibrate motor works from the service menu tests but not for incoming calls or SMS. I have noticed that when you play a sound or music if you put the phone up to your ear the loudspeaker does hiss slightly but no actual sounds are played, I am starting to think it may be software related now. Has anyone had this problem before?. I do however have another problem, as I started to wonder if the problem was firmware related I did an update with SEUS now I have a problem that the phone turns itself off everytime it goes into standby and can only be restarted by removing the battery. How do I solve this, I guess the firmware has become corrupted, all of this was done without a memory card installed and the phone is a james bond edition on O2.
