View 1 Replies View Relatedis there any way of selecting the file type that camera image files and video files are saved as? I know that the SGS2 supports various file formats, but I can't find anywhere that actually lets you select the format type. Anyone have a link to where I can obtain individual csc files?
I have been trying a few roms but some don't have a UK csc to change to.
So I currently have the Samsung Freeform (SCH R350). It's an OK phone but to be honest the MetroPCS Firmware is just horrible. I'd like to put the Alltel or some other carriers firmware but I don't have a clue on how to do anything like this and I can't find any info anywhere. First off I did find out about something called Samsung PST ans PST Lite a friend from my trade school said that those are the utilities. I'd need and that I want PST not PST Lite, another thing he said I would need is to acquire the Carriers dll file for the specific phone but after 2 nights of searching I found no Samsung SCH R350 dll's anywhere for any Carriers. This is really eating at me and I'd really like to get some progress into this if anybody has any info on this. Please get back to me whether it be in this thread or through PM. I'm not asking for you to hand me the files or information right over just atleast point me in the right direction.

View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have info on how to unlock the filesystem on the Helio Drift so I can edit the cwCONFIGURATION.ini file? I tried using the default Samsung 16-digit code using CDMA Workshop. It says 'phone unlocked', but Bitpim or QPST wont allow a write of that file. Bitpim can't be used anyway, because the file is in the /mmda subdirectory and only QPST lets you set the default directory when reading the efs. Is there another EFS reading software I can use? Is there a specific 16-digit code for this model? I need to change the wap port, and that file is where it is stored. p.s. Samsung PST is no help, either. The Ocean I have had success with (it has a 16-digit code of it's own), but the Drift has been elusive for a LONG time now.)

1. via kies air. How does one upload multiple files? To start with there was a box saying to download a java thing to let me do this, but I accidentally dismissed the box and have no idea what to look for.
2. Via USB: My PC recognises that there is something connected, but I can't see how to get into the folders on the phone, or even see anything to allow me to communicate firther with it.
It's certainly not intuitive. I see symbols that are not annotated, tablet has to be rotated several times before an Edit Mode button appears, and so far as I can see, no Edit mode button appeared.I got a hard wifi keyboard to edit Pdf files whilst on planes.I see a little binocular like icon that goes inside a text creation text box and that text can be saved somewhere...but I don't know where.Whatever happened to plain-old vanilla wysiwyg document editing? Can I not do that with a pdf file in Polaris on an Android tablet? If I can, can someone point me to a user-friendly howtodoit page?

So, here's the deal, I'm trying to download files from file sharing sites, mostly RAR's, I've tried downloading from MEGAUPLOAD, RAPIDSHARE, WUPLOAD, FILESERVE, FILESONIC. All I get is an HTM file if I just click, If I long click on the "download now" button and "Save Link" all I get is a BIN file. I've tried downloading on the STOCK browser, tried changing the useragent (about:useragent) to desktop. (This I don't think works, it's weird, I've also tried changing the useragent from the debug menu but the option isn't even there). I've tried downloading on the STOCK browser after installation of ASTRO file manager (ticking the allow download all files). I've tried downloading on Dolphin Browser HD (V.6.1.0) with the useragent changed to desktop and I either get a HTM file (sigle click) or a corrupted file (long, save link) I've tried using OPERA Mini (6.1) with the same results as on the STOCK browser.

Never had KIES installed, my usb ports work fine, I tested them, my cable works fine. checked the Media Device (MTP) still doesn't work... deleted and re-installed AFT multiple times, i still get the "Could not connect to device. Try reconnecting or restarting your device"
What is the best method to transfer multiple files between a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet and Galaxy S5 phone? I have lots of mp3 files on the tablet's SD card that I would like to transfer to the SD card of the phone.
When I connect both via USB cables to my Windows desktop, selection of source files and destination folder is easy, but some glitch often prevents all of the files from being transferred. I think it may be a timing issue with the connection, SD cards, or problem in cabling. Sometimes, Windows will not recognize both devices.
When I try to use Samsung SmartSwitch or SideSync with USB connected devices, I have a difficult time selecting the source files and target destination folder.
Using NFC doesn't seem to allow me to make the source file or destination folder selection I want. The file selection process seems to be "dumbed-down" based on standard file content type (music, video, pictures, documents, etc) and conventional destination locations in the device file structure rather than on the SD card.
Few days ago I purchased SGS II, and few days later I purchased a Prolink USB Wireless Network Adapter To Create Wi-Fi connection between my pc internet and my mobile. and I am succeed
so, now my phone use my pc internet via wi-fi.
but I notice it only use for internet connection.
what I want, I also want to transfer at least send files to phone via wi-fi connection like Bluetooth does.. because I see wi-fi have enough data transfer speed. so, it is very ridiculous to look out for USB data cable to send/transfer any files from pc to phone.
I have 'networked' my SGS2 to my Windows XP PC using 'ASTRO file manager' and the 'ASTRO SMB module' (both downloaded free on Market and obviously you need to be rooted too). With it I can access the Shared Folder on my desktop PC and just drag and drop files over. (Obviously you can just use Kies Air or plug in the USB cable, but I was bored so I Googled and fiddled).
This link shows a screenshot where to find the 'Network' icon on 'ASTRO file manager'.[URL]

I got a Corby recently, I am trying to install games but its getting installed in my phone memory. some of them are not getting installed only coz of large file size, I can't find any setting for that how to install it in memory card, also the SMS limit shows 500 but as its crossing 173 its saying delete some messages memory full. May I know why is this happening is there any way where the messages can store in memory card or the storage limit can increase.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a Samsung Forever (SGH-A886) and I would like to be able to put games on it that I have DLed onto my computer.problem is that rogers and there infinite wisdom have fixed it so that you cant do this. I transfer the game to the phone, fine but when I try to run it it tells me that its an "unsuported file format". Now I know this is because the phone has been locked so that you have to DL stuff directly to the phone but I don't have a data plan and would really like to be able to put these games and such onto my phone from my computer.

View 1 Replies View Relatedhave just got a Samsung Galaxy S2 and created my first document on Polaris office, saving it as a .doc file. But when copying it to my computer and trying to open it, up flashes a Microsoft Office File Validation security alert, saying that a problem has been detected in trying to open the file and that opening it is probably dangerous and may allow a malicious user to take over my computer.I'm aware that there are issues with MOFV over reading some file formats -- has anyone come across this? Is it that MOFV can't read Polaris files, or is there the possibility of something sinister going on? I've run two different antivirus programme scans (installed on two different computers) on this file, which haven't flagged anything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S2 GT -19100 from Sprint. I am fairly computer/tech savvy and previously had an iphone which I jailbroke, but have moved on to the wonderful, open architecture of Android.Right out the box I downloaded Odin and quickly figured out how to root the phone. After customizing it and downloading numerous apps, I quickly realized that the phone has a bug that causes it to drop calls and lose it's signal. I waited patiently for an update, however when the update finally came out, it was apparent that my phone would not update. It would try to reboot and then it would hang on the message of E:"Failed to verify whole-file signature". I tried some simple solutions such as wiping out the data and doing a factory reset. When I tried solutions that involved loading something from the SD card, it gives an error that it won't mount. I don't know if that's because it is looking for an external card (which it doesn't have) or if it's not "mounting" the internal one.
I have ROM Manager on my phone which has a Clockwork Mod Recovery option that I tried using, but like the example above, it hangs on the same message.Another site suggested that when something like this happens, you need to flash the kernel. I was going to try and use Odin to do that, but I am unsure of which kernel would be appropriate. Half the problem seems to be figuring out which kernel I currently have. I do not seem to be getting the same information as other get when looking at "About Phone" in the settings. Here are all of my specs:
Model number: SPH-D710
Android Version: 2.3.4
Baseband version: s: D710.10 S.EG30
Build version: Gingerbread.EG30
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7
Other websites tell you to find your kernel version by checking the phone and that it should be something like: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF1-CL256340 root@DELL106. All I have is 2.6.35.7.
I have a Nokia 5800 XM. I am not able to receive any file via Bluetooth if that file is not openable by Nokia. ie., if I receive a jpg or mp3 file, it receives fine, and when I open it from Messages, it tries to open it, and then I save it from the Message to the Gallery. But when I try to receive some other type of files which is not supported by the mobile, it receives the message, but it fails to open the bluetooth message and as a result, I am not able to save it to the Mass Memory. It says Un supported files.
Say for instance, I am trying to receive a docx (Microsoft Word) file, then I face this problem. Is there any way to save the file directly to any folder in memory without trying to open the received message?Had it been some protected files like .SIS or .SISX then I would agree, but It's bad if I am not able to receive general files.
