I got the white screen and blue Nokia label on my recently bought N97 mini. The advice was to hard reset it. O.K I did it now it randomly works.
My questions:
Is this a hardware issue? If not how can it be solved?
The phone came with various applications from factory, now how can I restore them, not the ones I installed but the ones the phone had before the hard resetS. where are they?
I initially tred to update my phone from Win XP and it failed with error - "Unable to install or start phone software update components". I then retried from Mac and it was updated successfully. However, after update hard keyboard has stopped working with apps.
I have tried to repair it from my XP (since in Mac Bridge I did not find the option for repair) and it failed again with the above error.
I don't know if its true or not but realized that N96 is really hard to find, Does anybody know why?.

At last i had to do a hard reset. I had not lost anything from my mass storage drive but i found that all the music that i had downloaded from ovi music store was asking for a licence and gave a message to get the license from internet. But then i found that internet was not working too. I have every setting from my operator nut still internet does not work.

This is frustrating because the email were working before. When I follow the set up wizard, I give my userid and then password, press okay then nothing happens no error message.

The install process goes as usual but when it should display the loading progress bar, the installer simply closes.
I tried soft reset, hard reset, reinstalled the firmware with ovi suite (i have v31.0.101) but still doesn't work.I even tried to install apps using pc suite... but same story.

I've never had any problems with it that weren't easily solved by a quick reboot, but a week ago my phone started freezing its screen and being glitchy..I ignored this after i fixed it by rebooting it a couple of times by taking the battery out, but soon after it turned off completely and wouldn't turn back on. I plugged it into the charger thinking the battery might have died because it was showing the "goodbye" screen before it would turn off. After plugging it into the charger, it would restart normally, showing the battery charging symbol which usually stays there for about 5 minutes until the lock screen comes on. Unfortunately, instead of the lock screen coming up after this period of time, the phone would vibrate and then begin charging again.

My friend performed a hard reset without myknowledge and I lost everything! I tried connectin my phone to Zune and it took it as a new phone I lost everything my contacts, msgs, apps and I can find a way to get them back!As far as I know I can restore the phone but I am not knowing how! Now, the irony is that my phone gets identified as a phone without 'Ovi Music Unlimited' which is a totally hilarious. My Nokia account clearly displays that I have the subscription valid till Oct 2011.

Before you tell me about OVI suite etc, many people may not have a PC, or may not get to install the Nokia Suite, or simply are scared or more bloating of their PC's.You should make handset to handset data portability. I pulled out an old 6630 I had with a full address book, youre datastorer.sis file you send over does not work in older phones. UIQ rejects it (application is invalid) and so do the 2nd getn Symbian phones....
The issue is that you still don't support multi vcf support multiple VCF business cards as single messages instead of just reading the first card and stopping.Why is it so hard? You guys at Nokia should know that people just give up, if they don't get to personalize their phone and get their data on, they just return it and go for another phone. So serious effort needs to go into this.In comparision I got I got the (SE) VCF frile from the N8 and emailed it to myself picked up the email with my iPod/Iphone/iPad and in under a minute I had the 500 contacts in Apple devices.Maybe instead o trying to invent augmentned reality gizmos you can focus on getting core functionality right. Maybe people will be able to switch to Symbian. If it is impossible to switch to Symbian no one will.... why not make a iPhone App for people to dump their data in a way it can be pulled into a Symbian phone.... Lots of people are sick of their iPhone and the battery shenigans.....
My phone has switched off, takeout memory card and it doesnt start anymore. Vibration comes, but display only boot until nokia welcome screen then keep on flashing white screen and no any further actions.

- backup phone memory /c to /e

- restore phone memory from /e to /c
Except for reorganizing my menus and reinstalling fring and opera mini everything was ok. But YBrowser was also missing and reinstalled that one but it pompted with "Certificate epired". Setting back the date resulted in "Cetrificate not yoe valid" How can I get around these terrible certificate check?
My phone zooms in and out at its own pleasure, both when in gallery and when using nav. Also keys are hard to press and sometimes i have to press the send button 6 or 7 times to send a message? Anybody else having these probs? the phone has done all of these things since the day i got it, now 6 months ago
View 4 Replies View RelatedI received this phone from our inventory at work. I am not sure who used it before me. But, I do not know the lock pass code. How can I hard reset it without knowing the lock password. Everything I try, I am prompted for the lock password except one attempt. I held in the up arrow, shift key and back arrow while powering on. This did some type of reset. But, the lock password still is not 12345. So, either the lock password for Nokia N97 is not 12345 by default, or this is not a true hard reset?

But now whenever i open the lens cover of the camera, it doesn't open the camera instead i've to press the lens cover hard down to activate my camera. Also there is a gap down highlighted with circle and the black lens cover is slightly coming in front of camera again highlighted by an arrow.

After downloading the sis file (ca 6.5 MB, Ovi Store), and starting the installation, finally I got the message that cannot Install. I think that QT libraries are correct (4.7.4)cause I installed fmobi from ovi store without any troubles. The only one file I could'nt install is Nokia Store.
