Nokia Online Services :: E7 Trying To Restore Contacts / Calendar / Notes From Ovi Sync Server
Feb 8, 2012Hi NokiaI have updated my E7-00 to Belle yesterday and now when I'm trying to restore my contacts, calendar and notes from Ovi sync server I'm getting error 'Service activation failed. Try again later.'I've reed in this forum that the exact problem was in August-September 2011, which was solved only in early November by manipulating on Ovi Servers.How can I restore my contacts now? Will be the issue solved and how urgently?

Therefore it is not seeing my contacts or my calendar and does not synchronize it.In the OVI software on the PC it says I have to have Outlook in order to synchronize the calendar. Irritating.The PC is running Windows 7.

Apr 14, 2010Following some changes to my Outlook configuration, which included changing the mail profile in use, I am now unable to sync Outlook Notes to my Nokia phone.After running a sync operation, the Ovi GUI shows the sync sucessfully completing but the updates to the notes are not made. Checking the sync application log (PC Suite profile) on the phone (UK Voda E71) via Bluetooth, it does not show any attempt to sync with the phone; The log is not even updated.My hunch is that I need to correct the Outlook folder location that Ovi finds the notes in. Can anybody advise how I might do that?

Aug 6, 2010The E90 (Firmware upgraded today) does not sync completely with Outlook 2007. I'm missing new agenda-entries and ALL notes.(Notes-sync as well as agn-sync are set to manual and of course I have triggered both syncs several times after updating software)
And I'm also missing a possibility to access the notes on the mobile device - the old E90-Software permitted that, but I'm not seeing how to do that with Ovi?

Oct 25, 2010Its now the second time that ovi sync online duplicated every contact in my mobile (but not in ovi sync online). it doesnt double the contacts every time it syncs again, but with that problem the phone (C6) becomes unusable because the OS doesnt tell you who is calling (it doesnt relate the numbers to the contacts). its far not the only problem with this buggy mobile (C6), but its an annoying one.. I still have 2 contact entries of every person in my phone - but NOT in ovi sync online!

Nov 18, 2011I have had trouble for some time with OVI contact syncing. I use the online contacts view to edit and add contacts. I have noticed that most of the contact changes I make in the web interface (like adding an email address) are not synced to the phone. Today I added 4 new contacts in the web then synced several times, and just one was copied to the phone. The sync registry in the phone showed correctly that just one contact had been added to the phone. The phone is a Nokia E51 and I am syncing over WiFi.

Sep 6, 2011After a hard reset of my N8 I tried to restore my contacts from OVI Sync.But for some strange reason contacts that have only "Phone (work)" as a number loose the number (all other details are restored). But they end up without any phone number Contact that have additional info (like "Mobile phone") don't loose the "Phone (work)". Also some of the "standard" settings are lost (as they are when syncing with OVI Suite).Very annoying since you then have to choose number or address when calling/smsing.

Dec 4, 2011I just bought a new RAZR XT910 and I'm starting to get a really uneasy feeling that I'm not going to be able to sync it with my Outlook calendaring and scheduling like I used to do with my old Nokia E63.
I was working under the assumption that there would be hundreds of apps on the new Android phones that would be able to do simple things like this? so far I haven't really found anything?
I found Motorola PC Suite 5.1 but I haven't downloaded and tried it yet ... has anyone used this software or can anyone advise some other application that will sync Calendering, scheduling, contacts etc with Outlook and with Lotus Notes?
I need to sync outlook for work , but I'd also like to sync with Lotus Notes at home if possible (far superior to Outlook)
By the way, synchronising with google or having a gmail account is NOT an option, I do not trust these people and besides, I don't need another email account, I already have one at work and one at home.

Jul 16, 2010After synching my Outlook 2010 x64 calender items to my mobile (Nokia 6300) with Nokia Ovi suite 2.2.0.245, the detail info (notes) on my appointments are gone in outlook. Really sucks, because all connection details of web meetings and so on, are lost.
Secondly, Nokia Ovi suite has no GUI for the calendar like PC Suite did, to see the calendar details. You can sync calendar items, but there is no way to manage them like the contacts/photo's. The sync statistics do not tell what exactly had been updated. Just the object count of updates nothing more.
