I like to have the menu of the phone in alphabetical order. Therefore I do the following: menu > options > arrange A to z. That's fine. But after switching the phone off and on again. The order is gone. How to store this setting permanently?

On my homescreen, since the update to belle, we now have a pull down menu which allows you to switch on or off Mobile Data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or select Silent Mode.
I quite like this feature but want to ask.......can you edit these functions? For example, rather than go from General to Silent, I'd prefer be able to select 'Meeting' rather than "Silent'.
I need assistance in saving a voicemail permanently to my laptop or an external HD. Is there a way to do this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy N8's shutter is stuck shut. I turn the camera function on and everything loads up BUT, the shutter doesn't open at all. So every picture is complete darkness. I can focus (on pitch black), change all the settings but to no avail. The only thing I see on the screen is total pitch black. The black shutter makes a funny noise and seems to fail over and not open.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a question about deleting unnecessary folders from phone memory ( mass memory and memory card).When navigating through memory seeing those useless folders is a big annoyance, they basically just on the way.I'm talking about folders like - playlists, music , games, video and sound files and so on, for which I have no use.Some of them I cannot delete at all.Others after deletion reappear like nothing happened.
I'm not a child and like to keep everything organized.How can I delete those folders permanently or at least hide it?
Randomly when I receive a text and then send a reply and receive another text from the same person. The response I get back from the person will show up out of order. Usually the end result will be their two SMS messages in a row and mine showing up last.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter hard reset of my nokia e6 belle, when I try to download maps NSuite shows that maps are downloaded, but after I disconnect and reconnect phone, NSuite show that I don't have maps on phone and offer me to install them again. Maploader on phone doesn't recognise my wifi, even before. I tried to reinstall phone belle software, maps application are updated, tried different computers.. It seems like NSuite don't save maps on mass memory.

The Nokia Maps app does pretty good nav but whereas e.g. TT will accept a postcode like CT16 2AB, Nokia Maps (or Drive as it is called; the Drive app shares the same database with the Maps app) accepts only CT162.
Today I tried to drive from Brighton (UK) to Biggin Hill Airport but Drive could not find Biggin Hill, which is weird. So I used an old Pocket/PC PDA with TT6 to get there. The Nokia apps did not show any roads/streets for a large area around the destination and on the way back it was about half an hour before I reached a map showing roads/streets. I deleted and reloaded the UK map (400MB) from Nokia and that fixed that bizzare issue, but having two ways to do the job is obviously desirable. And TT is a better app with a better database.

I downloaded Skype from OVI and it opens properly etc.but does not allow me to enter my password etc. and then reverts to the main screen. I am with Vodafone UK.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI own a N8 for 1 and half years and very happy with it. I did not upgrade to Belle because I read lots of people that were not satisfied and wanted to go back to Anna.
Problems I read in the forum in various discussions:1) Camera performance in low light has deteriorated, I love my N8 mainly because of the camera
2) Battery life is worse
3) Applications will be lost and I will need to reinstall them all , plus could never get back the Nokia ones I had free through offers
4) The useful and effective Nokia clock/calendar/profile switcher has been showed the door in favor of a Andoid-style clock
5) Widgets are worse or less effective: the email and music widgets are very big that I don't think I will be very happy wasting lots of space with no alternative.
6) Widgets do not change with theme, I have my nice Anna email/music and other widgets that gets transparent or just adapt to the Theme I choose, I haven't seen that on Belle. That ugly email widget for example is always the same , white on blue.
So basically I feel that I give up lots of useful and efficient features just in order to get a OS that is more fluid , has more homescreens and I can move the widgets and shortcuts around??
I have looked around the forum and there are still people not satisfied but most comments are now old.

Its currently on Anna but want to upgrade to Belle so I install the Nokia suite 3.3.86 which is where my issues started. It takes me 20 minutes just to get to the software update tab due to the constant message of not responding! When I get to the update tab I search for updates and says after 10 minutes cannot connect to server. I tried re-installing but seems to be just as bad.I am running a 64-bit pc with high specs so doubt its my computer.

1. Lock the phone.
2. Send a text message to your number (Nokia N8).
3. When the text message is recieved the screen of the N8 displays the work "popUpClock" in the top left corner and the "time, Battery, and signal" icons on the right top corner.
4. The above message disappears in a split second and the screen remains blank for almost 2-3 mins before shutting off again.The best way to check the duration of the blank screen displayed is to keep the phone in dark.This bug could be one of the reasons for the battery draining for some users who recieve loads of text messages in a day.
