Whenever I try and open music player the app will not run, screen goes blank for a moment then returns to the menu It will not play music files when you try and open them. I have updated the phone software and this has not worked. I am loathe to try a full factory reset and am looking for other ideas.

this is what i did
1) Refresh(didn't work)
2)Delete Private data under E:/private
3)Removed ALL songs and put them back in(didn't work)
4)Removed ALL songs again and put 10 songs in (to test if its just taking time to reload) and that didn't work
3) Soft restart(didn't work)
4)Hard restart(didn't work)
I'm out of idea's and how i have 0 songs in my music library and its making me mad.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought this device, love it so far. When I use a Google Voice command like, "play Madonna", it defaults to Sound Picker and doesn't play any songs. I noticed Music app is not even listed as a choice. See pic.
Is there a way to have the stock Music app as one of the choices instead of Sound Picker?
I have upgraded the firmware from v31.0.101 to v50.0.005 and I had the unpleasent surprise to find that the music player is no longer working. It plays only the files stored in the phone memory and is unable to update the library. It shows music files on the memory card that were deleted longtime ago and refresh library does not change anything: always shows refresh complete 0 files added. When I connect the phone to the PC, the Ovi Player doesn't see the phone and even the device manager shows that there is a problem with the portable device (conneced in PC Suite or Media Transfer modes). Done even a hard reset but nothing has changed except that it has lost the applications it had in the phone memory.

OK, so we all know Ovi player is, uummm, a bit flaky?I've given up trying to use it and am now using Windows Media Player to transfer music to my X6. This works absolutely fine other than getting the album art onto the phone.

Finally. i removed my memory card, formatted it and made it worked.
Nokia should consider fixing these issues as we respect them a lot and think that they are still the #1 hardware vendor and will keep giving us good options than Samsung - android and will compete with apple phones.

Has around 365 songs in it now but when i add new ones it doesn't see them.Have tried refresh, trashed the databases etc. Reformated the card and loaded them back bit by bit and that worked and then added 9 new ones - that worked. Played it this morning for a few hours and tried to ad some more. Doesn't see them in the refresh. Card is a Sandisk 4gb - should be good - no bad sectors etc
