Nokia :: N97 - Availability Of V21 With Product Code 0585162
Feb 1, 2010
I notice that V21 has been release today, but when I put my product code (0585162) into the Nokia software updater on the website:
http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update
It says that V20 is the latest firmware. Does anyone know when V21 frimware will be available for the above model number. Also as an after-thought, If I run the NSU software and connect my phone, is there a chance that V21 will be available.

I've had my E72-2 for a few months and I am quite satisfied with it. I thought that I would check if there was an update for it.I typed in *#0000# and this is what was displayed. Then I typed the Product code as found under the battery 0591928110914c into the Nokia web page where you can find out if there ia an update available. This is what I get.--That is not a valid product code. Please check your product code and type it again. For example, most codes begin '05xxxxx'

Can anybody tell me what the product code 0581922 stands for? Additionally I would like to know if the product code only give details on e.g. the phone color, country, provider, or also on the "revision" of the phone? Everything I have found upon now gives me the impression that it product code does not imply an information on the hardware revision of my phone.

I am just about to get another Nokia N97. If the product code I changed and I upgrade to v22 does the internet / MMS reconfigure. I am use to WM devices which have wizards but was never brave enough when I had my last Nokia N97 3 uk is still stuck at v20 which was ok last time I had it but I will be updating to v22 as the handset didn't cost me that much and I've got another handset for my contract. Also is it worth leaving the handset on the changed product code or is it better changing back to 3uk product code once upgraded and then do the same when v30 comes out. Cant wait to get back tinkering it became a hobby and I've had enough of android at present so I've come back to the phone I liked a lot.

My phone has the product code 0589649 (printed on the back) and I can't find any information about it. Also there is no updated of the firmware, even if other product codes have it. When I search on the Nokia website I get: "Sorry, there is no software currently available for that product code via the Nokia Software Update tool". I tried the Nokia support, but the answer was just senseless.

My 5800 is completely original. It responds to all the Nokia commands, PC suite and Ovi Suite identifies it, I was able to update its firmware to the latest every time its available, it does everything a 5800 is supposed to be, works like a charm every time. Now the thing is, the product code on the back is 0565881, which the Nokia can-i-update site says belongs to a version of the 6210 Navigator. I've tried to debrand my 6700c by using NSS 1.38.15 and Phoenix 2010.8, but with no success. When I write the new product code, it seems to write successfully, but when I read it back, it goes back to the original Product Code? Has anyone successfully debranded the 6700c? If so, can you tell me how? I've seen some posts elsewhere that suggests that people have been able to do it, but I have no success

Currently still unable to update device product cod: 059M539. I'm not alone a number of other users with same product code reporting this issue with same product code:Lumia 800 Update Thread (Bottom of page 14 and 15)It's a non-carrier varient (Sim free) so no operator to approve update.Nokias own website lists the update as available for this product code in the UK:Nokia Lumia Update Page But still unable to download for a long while now - This update has been out ages. No luck with e-mail support - They keep saying it depends on country/product code (Which I checked on the website!) and send stock replies which is frustrating. Please can we get a proper response on this or someone to check it out/diagnose the problem.I'm stuck on 1600.2475.7720.11414 and Nokias website says 1600.2487.8107.12070 should be available for my device. I've tried updating via Zune on PC and Windows Phone 7 connector on Mac but it always says its up-to-date despite the fact it clearly isn't.

I am looking for Panel/Facial for my handset Nokia 5700 XpressMusic for a long time now, the rubber covering has come off the Menu and 'C' key and I'm not able to use them.
A couple of visits to Nokia Care, Nokia Priority Dealers, emails and calls to Nokia Careline, and I have not had a single word of assurance or assistance from anyone!
Comments like - "Please be informed that these are not highly consumable items, hence; the stocks may not be readily available." and "You may kindly note that this phone is not under production and hence we are unable to guarantee the availability of panels for this phone." are not acceptable for a product that was launched into the market not more than 2.5 years back!
Inability to provide aftersales support to it's own products is a big minus and a shame for Nokia, a company that claims to be worlds largest manufacturer of mobile telephones with sales in more than 150 countries!
If I do not receive a resolution to my problem I will definitely not invest in future to buy products of a company that was not able to provide me with spare parts for a product I had spent quite an amount to buy. And I will also warn about my experience to every person I meet who dreams to buy a Nokia product.

I bought a Nokia N95 8GB very recently in Jan'10. I bought it with so much of confidence that I'm making a worthy purchase. But my happiness didn't last long:Last weekend, the display stopped working for apparently no reason. When I took it to the service center, they told me that the LCD display is cracked and had to be replaced.
They also told me that this is not covered by warranty. Under normal circumstances, I would have agreed to this. But in this case, I had never once dropped the phone down or put it under any heavy weight to cause the display to crack as it appears (the phone is in fact free of any scratch or dent). In fact, I have been continuously using the phone with the pouch that was given with the phone. Moreover, its been just a month since I bought it.
What is most concerning is the kind of responses and info. that I got to hear from the person at the Nokia service centre:
1) He hinted that this is an outdated, discontinued model.
2) The phone sales should have stopped nearly 8 months ago. He was surprised that I bought just last month.
3) He hinted that its a failure model that Nokia might now be offloading in the market for cheaper price (vendors buy this model, strip the brand and sell it at far lower prices).
The way he went about the whole affair was 'Oh, this issue? OK, I know about this. But its a display breakage. I don't care and I will charge as per the book. I'm sorry that you bought this phone.'I was completely taken aback by such attitude and information. I was made to feel that I have been somehow duped to buy this model.
This was also confirmed when the vendor from whom I bought the phone showed surprise that I could have bought this phone last month. Because the model is no longer sold in the store. It's only available in the vendor's website at nearly 50% discount.I'm shocked that a phone that I bought so recently as one month back, would not work. What's more shocking is the kind of replies that I have hear from the Nokia Service Center itself.
I have tried seeking some valid, relevant answers from the Nokia customer care centre as well as from the AskNokia forum. What I have been receiving so far are standard template-based emails and responses. Such responses don't seem to be taking cognizance of what's being told in their own service centers.
My questions are:
1) Was I wrong in selecting this model? Is it a model that has such troubles as hinted by the service centre?
2) Why would the LCD display crack like this without any physical damage done to them? I have seen phones which have been dropped quite often and still work well without such damages.
3) Given the sentiment about this model, what is the guarantee that if I change the display, it will not crack again for unknown reasons?
4) Which is the right redress forum in Nokia which can provide a more sensible, relevant reply?
I'm sorry that my first post in Nokia had to be of such a bad experience - I was a consistent user of Sony Ericcsson mobile phones. Though I didn't have any major complaints with their handsets, I really liked the N95 8GB and made a switch to Nokia. It's needless to say that this experience has left a bitter taste.

As the owner of an E72 for the past couple of weeks, I want to record how delighted I am with the quality of the product. I read a lot of the comments on this site before deciding that, despite the negativity from a small number of users, Nokia had a winner on their hands, despite a few possible minor initial technical glitches.
All I can say is from my initial experience, what a fabulous machine in terms of build quality and performance. No problems - everything works as it is supposed too. Call quality is excellent. The email service is lightning fast. Messages reach my phone before they land on my MAC. Did you doubting Thomas's not have faith in Nokia resolving an apparent few minor technical glitches in a superb new product ?
If you want to experience a poor performance try a Blackberry (and enjoy premium email costs in the process), or an IPhone (and pay premium costs for the Applications included in the E72 like Office document/Scanner/PDF/ZIP etc). Recognize a quality product and have faith in Nokia to resolve any outstanding issues.

Not been able to find proper product support on the Nokia site, just "usually asked questions, manuals and client discussions". Any suggestions on how to get a Nokia person to answer questions to a client instead of clients having to search for other clients possibly knowing what to do? It would be much easier than to turn in the phone on a guarantee "repair?". Many issues; during first 6 months already several software updates, phone memory constantly full, blue tooth does not work properly with PC, ...
